You gotta take the injuries with it cuz Grant Hll got injured the prior season in Detroit then played on a broken foot in the playoffs which made the situation horribly worse. HOWEVER, Duncan being there puts less tread on McGrady and maybe he doesn't break down physically as soon as he did.

      horrible examples
Rick fox's rings with the lakers came when the Celtics weren't finals contenders, therefore there was no possibility of animosity
Brain Shaw same as Rick fox
Gary Payton is a sonic, his short stints in LA and Boston don't change that, very late in his career already way pasted his prime
Shaq same as rick and brian, 3 rings were when the Celtics weren't finals contenders, also very late in his career he joined boston, and he beefed with kobe
Isaiah was traded, not his choice to go to LA
During avery bradleys run with the Celtics the lakers were an awful team the entire time, kind of the a reverse situation from brian shaw and rick fox

Don't forget Dantley. Him and Nique played the same position so one would have had to go and a trade of prime Dantley would have garnered some interest. Making a deal with Portland which would include swapping the #16 and #19 picks, ensuring the Jazz still got Stockton, might have helped. With the #2 pick the Jazz would take Jordan and then re-route Darrell Griffith for a future #1 (as a 20ppg scorer and the league leader in 3pt % the prior year, he would have interest as well). Remember the Jazz were having financial issues and wanted to save on payroll at this time. The 1984-85 season would show a promising young team with Wilkins, Jordan, Green, Eaton, Bailey as well as Stockton and Hansen off the bench. Jordan and Wilkins would have been the 'air up there' duo with flashy dunks possible every possession, which would have helped to get the team more profitable at the gate, staving off the possible sale of the team during the 1984-1986 timeframe. However they likely would have done well enough to not pick #13 in 1985, meaning Karl Malone would have never joined the team. Oh well, fun to wonder about.

You look back on it if you’re the Rockets whoever there owners were at that time, and that probably hunted them for a long time. I know Ralph Sampson was good , but they had a chance at Clyde granted they still got him late in his career and won a “ chip” with him but they had a chance at a young Clyde who was amazing and to possibly use that 2 pick on Michael Jeffery Jordan aka “Goat” it would’ve hurt not seeing him here in Chicago but that time would’ve probably broke the Celts record for “ chips” if they could co exist because both Clyde and MJ played the same position that is why Portland didn’t draft him. Looking back on it that is insane but go back to 1984 you can understand Portland logic and Houston but if someone had a time machine and could show both the future and what MJ became , there is no way he gets to the bulls at 3 . Chicago never has the United Center and Jerry Reinsdorf probably would’ve sold the team long ago . Just amazing even thinking about it.

That's why he vetoed the trade. The trade he vetoed wouldn't have brought back ONE young star. The trade they actually made brought back Eric Gordon who at the time was considered one of the future rising stars at his position and they also got a Clippers pick that was top ten, which they used on Austin Rivers. No, the original owner (George Shinn) was in massive debt and couldn't cover his loses or build a team that can compete. Chris Paul was also fed up of the ownership not being able to give him help on the court so he demanded for a trade. So in late 2010, Shinn put the team for sale but no one was interested. He tried to convince the top minority owner to buy his stock to become the majority owner, but the minority owner refused. Shinn also had a negative reputation after he went to trial for raping a woman back in 2002, so fans were refusing to attend the games under Shinn's ownership. Eventually, the NBA bought the team from Shinn and had their people run it to make them competitive.

Roger Roger you do realize that wouldn’t have been getting anywhere near enough touches to have a chance at winning it and he would be competing with Lebron who was on his team

The Wexicano He said “develop into a Mvp” not become a Mvp. Touches don’t make a player dawg

Well the CP to the Lakers trade was mentioned, but a deal was in place to send CP3 to Boston for Rondo. However, Doc Rivers declined because he didn’t want his friend, the Pelicans coach, having to put up with Rondo’s personality.

Number 1 hurts my soul, not even a fan of any parties involved, just my inner gm dying as they passed on that beautiful deal

Anyone remember the possible trade between Chris Webber and Allan Houston, which would have sent Allan Houston to the Sacramento Kings and Chris Webber to the New York Knicks in late 1999- early 2000 which would put C-Webb on the same team as Patrick Ewing, Latrell Sprewell, Larry Johnson, Marcus Camby, Charles Oakley and John Staks.
The Shaq & Dirk combination in Dallas were have been interesting.

If LeBron went to Chicago, he could've given healthy tips on taking of your body to Rose, and wouldn't be severely injured, and won championships together with wade, most especially if James took the playmaker duty.

Hakeem and Sampson beat Magic, Kareem, and Worthy in ‘86 playoffs 4-1. Jordan, Hakeem, and Clyde would easily beat Showtime.
