@@rjstewart *I noticed on your channel you have a respect for the keto diet. We've practicing keto for 2 years now. How do you feel about intermittent fasting as a subtle training for potential food shortages, famine?*
Christian Prepper it’s like you are in my head lol. At the point in the video where he is talking about calories I was thinking about this. I do IF and when I go out hunting I will often eat for the first time when I get home in the evening. Not only is it a healthy lifestyle from my research but it’s also good training for a survival situation. Not so much physical training but mental training. If you’re out there thinking “I have to get food!!!” you will not do as well as someone who has practice fasting and has built up confidence that the hunger pains will go away and know they are NOT going to die or pass out if they don’t eat today. @@rjstewart *"and know that they are NOT going to die or pass out if they don't eat today", is the most insightful comment I've heard yet. Christian Prepper I like the rule of 3s you probably know already. It helps to prioritize things. A fire for example is probably top of my list because it can keep you from freezing long before you die of thirst. It can provide light and keep predators away at night and smoke to keep bugs away too. It can be used to sanitize water as well of course. There is one aspect of the rule of 3s I heard once and fire plays into this too. It’s “You can’t survive 3 seconds without hope”. Obviously it’s hyperbolic but it’s a good point to remember and starting a fire is a positively uplifting thing for the human spirit! Just ask Tom Hanks! Lol

I totally got lost and wandered in circles on Vancouver island once. I set up my camp by a giant downed tree, and went to the river to get water. As I tried to find my camp, I just wandered around and around in circles until it got dark so I made a camp by a big log and started a fire and made a bed of fir boughs. I remember the day before how there was an orange piece of plastic hanging from a tree, and I thought that’s terrible, but the next day that plastic showed me the way to my camp. I was lucky, because the raccoons didn’t eat my trail mix. Peace

Hunter-gatherer adults usually live until 60 years old. The average lifespan was so low because there was a lot of death during childbirth. Also, hunter-gatherers lived in a tribe and usually had all afternoon too hang out and relax because the hunting and gathering would be done in the morning.
Thatd be cool in a vid. The words smallest chain saw. Take extra batteries. Maybe Milwaukee will sponsor you. Thaat might be a new bushcraft tool. Electric saw. Wow
Excellent. Began gathering skills working for the Youth Conservation Corps reworking Barr Trail (Pikes Peak) during the Summer of '77. A teen on a dark path was given a choice, Barr or pick up trash downtown. That decision changed my life. Live on.
The best way is make a fire before leaving. A safe way away from other things that can burn. If you need to find your way back look for smoke and follow that.
Hunter gatherers actually lived to quite old ages. Their life expectancy was low because of the high risk of child mortality and death of the mother or child during child birth. If they lived to adulthood they'd usually live roughly as long as we do today

“Blow along with me!”

Excellent. Began gathering skills working for the Youth Conservation Corps reworking Barr Trail (Pikes Peak) during the Summer of '77. A teen on a dark path was given a choice, Barr or pick up trash downtown. That decision changed my life. Live on.
You wanna go for a whole minute if you can. Without stopping. 🤣🤣😂😂
That's what SHE said! LOL
Bruhhh 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
The best way is make a fire before leaving. A safe way away from other things that can burn. If you need to find your way back look for smoke and follow that.
Long time no see brother, glad you're still kicking and got a good following now
Hunter gatherers actually lived to quite old ages. Their life expectancy was low because of the high risk of child mortality and death of the mother or child during child birth. If they lived to adulthood they'd usually live roughly as long as we do today
The whole time I was thinking in my head throw the squirrel nest in the fire! But holy crap how do you sleep with that in the background
Really like the way you are wearing something catchy and clear...in jungle every moving thing looks like a animal from a distance..
DONT LIKE THE SILENT VIDS I WOULD PROLLY STOP WATCHING.I ALWAYS WATCH ALL THE WAY

No water. "I've got a little bit of water in a canteen" ... Ok
May help for the walking in a circle issue. When doing land navigation in military we'd point the compass in a direction and see what specific tree the straight line goes to.
grandpa planted a few in his yard for shad just pissed off grandma she got stuck with the mess and having to dodge falling walnuts and squires taking the stuffing out of grandmas lawn furnature i did so get a kick as my grandpa was a great guy now the trees are over doing thier job and needed some pruning i used the wood for smoking pork ribs it was great i think my grandpa would be proud
Ha, you grandpa is awesome!
Thank you for what you and your fellow experts do for us. I'm certain that your channel will continue to evolve as you see fit. Do it! It will always be worth watching.
You’re comment on walking in circles is spot on. I’m ambi dexterous so for whatever reason it’s not such a problem for me. I take 12 steps forward, leading with my right, then 6 leading with left. Keeps me on track for whatever reason. May not work for all.
Thumbs up if you really started to blow along like real woodsmen do
Can't believe I am admitting it. Haha. But I did!
I love this channel it’s been a few months but now I’m back
Am I the only one that checked if his channel name is actually wood beard
I like these quick survival vids. for the most part, people only need 1-2 days until they are found or find their way out... just a couple of tips and ideas to help is all they should really need
"never hooped a thing in my life." probably one of the most Canadian sounding sentences I've heard
Was just heading down to comment something similar!
