    SOME NOTES
    1. Apparently, WSP offers free shipping for orders over $25 again!! Hooray!! So keep that in mind, all these would ship FREE in the USA!!
    2. It's true that Bath and Body Works has sales ALL THE TIME for their hand soap. WSP also has sales on their kits. Because I don't know when those will be happening, I used the base price for the cost breakdown. Feel free to do your own math if a sale is on. I recognize that most people don't DIY bath and body products for cost efficiency and just enjoy doing a craft, but I like including it just in case. ❤️
    3. The soap bottles are included in the foaming hand soap kit, you don't have to price them separately.
    4. There are way bigger bottles of Micellar water available in the USA. I bought the small size to compare to the WSP dupe bottle size.

      If you want to make something similar in function to the foaming soap, try using Dr Bronner's castile soap, a 1:4-5 ish ratio of soap base to water, refilled into a foaming pump. It doesn't have preservatives, so if you don't use it fast enough it can go off, but I haven't had that happen. You can get the scented ones they carry or just add your own to the baby (unscented) one. I bought the tiny travel bottle to test it out and refilled a $1 empty pump, ended up liking it, and now that's all I use. It's also soooo cheap per bottle, I used one of their big bottles which was like $15ish and it lasted a year.
      It's also available in most stores, so you don't have to order online or anything.

    • @AlbinoAxolotl
      @AlbinoAxolotl 3 года назад +5

      Yeah that is really weird for a company to charge a handling fee in this day and age unless there is significant work involved in packaging and materials. Kind of a bad business decision to not just include it all in the “shipping” fee. I regularly buy plants from nurseries that are individually and carefully wrapped up with lots of packaging material and even they don’t charge a handling fee. It may make sense to include that charge to the company but it feels lazy and a little shady to not just divide it up over the other costs to the customer.

    • @morganboggis03
      @morganboggis03 2 года назад

      @@AlbinoAxolotl they likely have a handeling fee because all these items will come from multiple storage facilities. Your plant can be grabbed and packed by one person in 10 mins. This would take one person a couple hours of sorting out. They aren’t focused on individual orders, these are more for people to try before bulk buying to sell, meaning on a package like this the probably lose money.

    I've been thinking, and maybe the reason WSP doesn't send the recipe with the package is to avoid a legal kefuffle? If you offer the recipe free online to people who buy your kit, then you're not selling the dupe, just materials? idk but considering the patents and such that BBBW holds and how zealously they guard their secrets, it makes sense for companies making dupes to have to jump through some hoops to not get sued.

    • @megallina1
      @megallina1 3 года назад +21

      I've bought generic, non dupe, kits from them and the way materials were sent was the same. it's a cost saving strategy, they're just grabbing all of the materials needed from their warehouse rather than making "kits" like you could get from Brambleberry. So if you want the experience of the fancy kit, just don't buy from WSP. :-)

    Hi, Katie. I really like your videos, they're always very nice and funny (in a good way? hahaha). But… always have a but, right? As a Pharmacist myself, I
    find a little bit troublesome when influencer/youtubers with a large audience say things like: less "weird things" or "don't know how to said it" (with a bad connotation) when talking about chemical substances. Because as you know, everything is chemical, and having a "difficult/weird" name doesn't mean it's bad or toxic. And for the non-verse viewer can send a wrong message.
    For example: Dihydrogen monoxide… strange, right? But it's water. Even your products have "difficult" names for the average viewer like: BTMS 50 [Behentrimonium Methosulfate, Cetyl Alcohol, Butylene Glycol] or Cocamidopropyl Betaine.

      I mean you can just get the kit, buy them on sale, and then just mix up a batch of soap to refill the bottles when they are all used up; cheaper than having to drive to the store and factor in the cost of gas plus the cost of the soap, and if you B&BW is in a mall you have to end up paying for parking so tack on another like 3 dollars for that. I would rather just make my own refills at that point and call it a day

    I really love your videos! I think its so weird they call that kits "self made". Like of course you make something yourself, but not from the ground. I mean for example the soap. You have the base and just have to add the scent. I am a drugist/chemist ib Switzerland and in training we learned how to make medicaments and body products yourself. For example a gel: we didn't have like the base and just added the extra stuff. Like we actually just had all the ingredients (for example a gel is made out of a chemical powder (So sorry, I forgot the name haha) and you mix it with water (I think lol its some years ago) and then you got your gel base) would be cool if you could actually make something like this, I could send you the recipes and how to make them. We actually made such a good handcream once!
