Hey Daniel, thanks for sharing your experience. In September, I also tore my Achilles tendon during a Crossfit competition. I was immediately operated on. The first rehab went great, or so I thought. The all or nothing mentality, as you described it, led to me tearing my Achilles tendon again in the same leg but in a different spot just 10 days after the surgery. This time it was difficult to find a doctor willing to operate. I had a procedure called FHL done, which is essentially a tendon transfer. The result is that rehab is taking longer and the biggest lesson I've learned is that I can't force biological processes with sheer willpower. I'm now focusing on taking baby steps to progress. Currently, I have to keep my feet still. I've been working on my upper body and stretching within my limits, but with much more caution than before. Wishing you continued success in your rehab.

I am in the seventh week of my recovery. I completely ruptured my Achilles tendon while sparring during a kickboxing class. The tear is not severe, only 4 mm. I am undergoing the conservative treatment method, so I haven't had surgery. With the doctor's approval, I stopped using the Vacoped in week six and am now allowed to walk independently. In week six, I was walking with the support of crutches. Since week seven, I have been walking short distances on my own. I mainly struggle with finding a proper walking pattern with a good foot roll. Often, it feels like a rubber band that is constantly stretched and could snap at any moment. For example, I have difficulty moving/bending my knee forward. Honestly, that is quite disappointing. I hope it improves in the short term. I am doing some light stretching and load-bearing exercises. Starting in January 2025, I will continue my rehabilitation under the guidance of a sports physiotherapist.
    Wishing you a speedy recovery.
