2. Investment accounts or 401k retirement funds
3. Credit and Debit cards
4. Purchasing Gift cards
5. Cash withdrawals
6. Cryptocurrency
Scammers are ruthless criminals that have no problem stealing every last dime from their victims bank accounts. Please protect yourself as well as family members who might not be familiar with these type of scams.
Yesterday, I got back home and saw my mother talking to someone on phone, I right away knew it was scammer because I've been watching your videos and was able to prevent them from scamming my mother, thanks a lot to you

@@CatholicismRules yeah true. I mean I spoke with amazon and alot of them are indian same with microsoft support. (they were real because on the website it says the number to call) but yes, be wary and dont give info out.
@@CatholicismRules especially if it is about big companies like Microsoft or your own bank , for starters they already know your name these scammers don't . Also Microsoft never calls you directly at your home.

I got scammed of every dollar I had (they left me $4 - enough for public transit one way to the bank to report it) (only for the bank to no be able to recover 1 cent of it) back in 2019. I was 26/27 at the time.
I consider myself fairly tech savvy, and I’m the one who warns and teaches my parents and grandparents about scams and it happened to me. It’s seriously traumatic and I’m still dealing with the snowball effect that happened to me because of it. I can’t imagine how the elderly who lose hundreds of thousand navigate it after being scammed and it breaks my heart so much.
It’s SO not just elderly and young. It’s tons of middle age people. People who are old are not necessarily feeble and dim witted, even though there’s so much ageism you’d think they are.

Alot of young people are smart with electronics more than older people so younger people don't fall for it
My mom and step dad were scammed by someone claiming to buy time-shares off of people who didn't want them anymore. My step dad eventually ended his own life in the fallout. It's not the same type of scams that you stop, but it makes me happy seeing channels like this that help prevent scams and antagonize the people who often destroy lives. Thanks for these vids

Pierogi, I stumbled across your channel a few weeks ago and started watching them. Tonight, I came to visit my 78 year old mother and she asked me why her McAfee bill would double in one month. AHA! My mom now knows the inside out from these scammers and I introduced her to you. Thanks for what you do!

I work at a Swedish call centre for a telecom corporation as customer support. I get to talk to scam victims from time to time. Most victims I talk to are elderly, ages 65-85 mostly.
There is quite little we can do to help our customers with scammers, since most victims contact us after the fact. Some have had the remainder of their lives quite literally ruined by these "people."
I cannot express how happy you guys at SP make me with your videos. I watch other scam baiters too, and the length to which you guys are going to help these people brings me to tears.

Tears...I know what you mean. When they caught up with the woman at her bank withdrawing money, saving her from losing thousands, I was bawling my eyes out. My heart was thumping out of my chest, too. I was shaking.
Can you please create a video that is explicitly meant to educate elderly people about common scams? Your videos are so informative, but it would be awesome to have a single video that summarizes what red flags to look out for.
I've wondered about that also. I live a small city, but adjacent to a larger city. My city has a Senior Center that have services available for seniors. I could use a basic video and present it to various groups.

In their Scam baiting videos they occasionally give good information in tidbits about either awareness or how to Recognize scams.
They also have reminders about keeping yourself from not getting scammed in their (scam baiting) videos.
They also post other kinds of uploads that aren't scambaiting, depending on what fits their fancy, so just be aware of that if you subscribe

@@yeahnoonecaresifyouarefirst Of course, and they could change their method of running these scams. But I think overall it would be more helpful to educate the elderly on the current scams, and as new scam come out educate them on those as well.
I’m 24 and reasonably tech savvy, I’m watching this and I’m scared to go online again, anybody could be fooled by something like this, I feel so bad for the elderly people who have had it happen. We need a vigilante that does what you’re doing but steals their money and gives it back to the victims ❤

If you really listen to the way the conversation goes and the things being asked of the person being scammed red flags should go up immediately. I've listened to a few of these calls and I can't believe people send them money.

They tried to do the IRS scam to me years ago and I cursed them out. I called them back day after day with different phones just to curse them out over and over again.

Wrong. Its the same reason why people steal they need money for whatever reason they can't that money legitimately (i imagine for indians its mostly becouse they dont have the education but im not aware of how Indian society is structured so its possible its a lot of different reasons) and they turn to crime. Now if you want to talk about the heartless its their boss and their bosses boss and their bosses bosses boss those people had the money to get themselves straight a long time ago they dont do this becouse they cant do anything else to support their family they do this out of greed.
I've gotten pretty good at recognizing scammers and love to just waste their time . When they start to get upset I just say hello from Pierogi and hang up .

I work with turbo tax and I just got done with someone who was hacked by someone pretending to Microsoft and Bank of America and he ended up purchasing bitcoin and they took 40,000 from him. So while I was helping him with his taxes I mentioned your channel and he searched you up and started watching so he doesn’t get fooled again

Keep doing what you do. It’s amazing how much you know about this type of stuff. And honestly, the scammers deserve it.
I get scam calls once a week usually. I used to waste their time and act like an old man with dementia and the world's slowest computer, but these days I just simply let them state their script while breathing heavy and fast, and then once they ask me the first "yes / no" question, I begin moaning "Ohhhh yeahhhhhhh, yes daddy" and variants of it over and over getting more and more aggressive and fast paced until they hang up. Lol

Love what you do. You're a true hero. I turned 65 last year and the scammers call, text and email constantly. I wonder if SS or Mcare or both sell our info. It's insane. Minimum 20 calls per day.

This is the part where law inforcement should work together to combat these scammers.
I was thinking the same thing! Some millionaire or billionaire could create a large company doing this! I bet there's the possibility of police contracts too since the cops don't really have a unit for this in most places. They could farm it out and everybody wins (except the scammers of course).
it's not necessary. They should just help improve the Google Phone app to make it 99.99% effective at screening spam calls. Right now it catches almost all the spam calls without me having to do anything, but occasionally one will get through.

Just watching all these channels, I've learned so much... from learning their BS scams to learning to insult them in their own language. would love to see y'all go after some of these work recruiter scammers. These scammers are looking more and more legitimate and getting at people who are genuinely less likely to be scammed but desperate for work and still end up getting screwed.

I work at a bar and have come across some scammers I wish you could expose them. They basically asked to have a party and hire a jazz band for $10k. They want an invoice to pay us via credit and we pay the band. It’s hilarious the email is so obvious everything they say and how they say it. Wish you could get them for me!
