Other companies would be wise to do this. It would protect their reputation. And it would be a great effort it lowering bandwidth use for everybody. When the pipes are clear, everyone's internet could be a lot better.
It isn't justice. Losing 2 Weeks of time is nothing compared to losing life savings. They will keep doing it because its basically a clap on the wrist.
@@thrakirlp4233There’s a short story I read once. A grandpa and his grandson were walking along the beach, where many starfish had been washed up by the tides. The grandpa stopped to throw the starfish back into the sea. The grandson asked, “Grandpa, why bother? There’s too many starfish on the beach for it to matter.” The grandpa picked up a starfish, threw it back and said, “It mattered to that one.”
Absolutely incredible job man. The amount of organization behind the PPC 2023 can't be underestimated. Thank you @AnyDesk too for making the 1st week possible - great job Matt, Pierogi, Brandon and SP team. I wish I could have been there, but perhaps next year.

Faaaacts. My folks have been scammed a couple times and I'm just so confused, after the childhood training, how and why they would trust a disembodied voice on the phone.
Also not to give out family members phone numbers without permission or informing them. That’s how I got scammed. My mum’s card wasn’t working online, so I used mine. Then my so called bank called, little did I know they’d phoned my mum first and she’d given them my phone number. I really believed it was my bank because they’re really quick in the fraud department. And my phone number is very private. So they took every last penny I had. When they hung up I felt it was odd, so called the fraud team and they handled it quickly. They got caught, thankfully.
@@hugh_jasso There weren't scammers when they were raising you. I am still sharp enough, I know what not to do. As an Indian, thank you so much for this. These scammers are vicious to us all, they don't even spare their own country. I'm not in the cybersecurity field so I'm not of much help but I hope your video is successful so you're able to carry more of such operations.
Huge respect to you brother, Even though I am not from your country it genuinely upsets me because of what these people do and how they make your culture and race look bad to those who are ignorant Around the world who They think you are all like this.. I just wanted to remind you that most of us over in North America know that it's a small Fraction of your society who are like this and that they are not liked by the rest of your country for the shame they bring... My first time traveling was to India and I loved it; I had never left Canada and was always just a negative person assuming that I wouldn't be welcome in another person's own country. I assumed that simply because I was from Canada ,People would think I'm rich or even well off.. even though I'm barely able to pay rent and my bills and I definitely don't have any luxuries in my life. But I ended up staying in India for over 3 months because the people that I met in those first 2 weeks were so amazing and took time to show me around and even welcomed me to sleep at their home.. i felt so loved.. so instead of continuing on to 2 other locations I had planned for my 4 month trip i instead stayed in india, and it was the best experience i had in my life. 🇨🇦🤝🏼 🇮🇳
Hey guys, I’m 73 and haven’t a clue at what you are doing! But it’s so much fun watching you all mess with these scumbags! My sister lost nearly $800,000,00 last year. She now lives in a caravan on her daughter’s property. She is 76. I feel so bad for her, but her heart took over and that was that. I love your work guys! Keep it up! Chris, Western Australia 🇦🇺.
I know it's not enough to find someone's info, but the fact that you're even putting your first name and location is probably not a good sign that you took away the right message from this video. Don't sign your posts like they're personal letters man.

You should have kept this idea to yourself. Unless you want to act on it and make it a reality. I'm not sure ho you could monetise it but it's not a bad idea.
Hundreds of scammers in jail, bunch of them banned. If you just save ONE person losing their life savings, what you're doing is totally worth it. Thank you for doing this, so much!
I am an IT professional on a much lower level than these guys. I applaud and admire what they are doing. I also applaud AnyDesk for joining the fight instead of being like Facebook, Twitter, and RUclips saying they can't do anything. Well done AnyDesk!
@penileymajorey7174no. Don't. Not all Indians are doing this. Don't lump the entire group of people into this category. There are good Indians too that hate what these scammers are doing. And there are American scammers and con artists too. Evil and corruption are not specific to one country or group of people.
I was recently a scam victim to the bank scammers while I was sick and they took my entire life savings. Unfortunately the bank I'm with will not reimburse me for any of the loss so seeing them helping the victims makes me so happy. Thank you so much for your work.

Good to hear you're on the right side. One thing you can do in India is help elect officials who aren't corrupt and don't look the other way on crime like this, because too many do. More pressure on this illegal activity should be coming from the Indian government than scambaiters, yet I don't think that's the case.
Thank you so much for what you are doing!! My mother was scammed out of $10.6k. We filed a police report. We were told that nothing could be done as the money was transferred by the scammers to a bank in the islands. Why isn't the FBI or the CIA doing something about this?

That lady crying almost had me convinced that she was in full distress. That was awesone acting. And great work scamming the scammered. Love what you all do.
Crazy that AnyDesk is this invested in it. Obviously they want to stamp it out, but, to literally host you guys, and go out of their way to help you is immense. Fair play to them.
NOT ONLY all of that, but every time they ban a scammer, they literally lose a customer 😵 they are helping you guys lower their top-line revenue! Granted, the potential brand value they're creating in goodwill with the consumers and companies seeing this video could be significant.
I was never sure which remote desktop app to use and had just been sticking to TeamViewer out of habit, but after seeing AnyDesk not only support and help run this take-down but also sacrifice some of their business to do the right thing, it's made my choice clear, and I'll be sure to recommend them to my friends and clients going forward. Because it's technically illegal. And you can't lawfully fight illegal with illegal. It's literally no different that what the scam callers do. So you can be either okay with both or not okay with both, but you can't be okay with one and not the other (legally).

Just came across this channel. Had great fun watching you all and the fun you were all having for such a good cause. Here in the UK we have a TV programme called Scam Interceptors on BBC hosted by Rav Wilding (ex policer officer). They are only a small team who try to intercept the actual calls to the victims and tell them what is going on or to help them uninstall Anydesk. If they can't get through on the phone, they have a small mobile team to send to the vicinity if it not too far, to knock on the victim's door to stop the scam . They have also got hold of neighbours or family. when an older confused person is being taken in. Parcel intercepts have also been made occasionally. Bravo to all of you. It is an uphill struggle which will only finish when the Indian Police put their effort into a crackdown.

I am a call center supervisor for a healthcare company. So many of our members are apprehensive of speaking to us when we call them because of all the scammers out there, that they're being severely impacted with their coverage. You're doing great work here, keep this up because so many people depend on it. Its not just their direct victims, but those that are weary of answering their phones because these vile people exist.
Bingo. This is exactly how I feel when speaking to anyone in a call center now. Legit or not, I'm always skeptical. I've had scammers call me and my local bank was the number that shown up. They're definitely blurring the lines.

I had exactly this scam attempted on me. I typed in $7 and he made it look like I accidentally typed $7000 on some MS-DOS-looking screen. He was very friendly and polite, and told me I needed to go to my bank to transfer the $7000 back to their account. So I pretended to fall for it, got in my car, which got him really excited, especially since the bank was only 15 minutes away. He told me to stay on the line. "I will. Bye." He called back. Asked if I was still on my way to the bank. I said I was, but I got hungry, so I had to stop at a McDonald's first. He said that was okay, but that I should eat quickly and then go to the bank because this was urgent and to not hang up up. "I won't. Bye." I kept him going like this for a glorious 6 hours, until I was out having actual dinner with my family and the only excuse I could come up with was that my husband does not take no for an answer, at which point I couldn't control myself anymore and I burst out laughing. I'm binge-watching you right now. 😂
I used to turn one or two a day into FB for two years, when FB actually cared. They don't bother to protect us anymore. I see them everywhere and know them well. @@Neurotik51 If they actually search for resources and leads they can find a lot about the scammers that are nearby their area, the indian police for example. They can carry out investigations and put the building or "call center" in question under surveillance. It doesn't take much to wiretap given these guys' skills I know they have a tech intelligence unit to deal with these but they don't utilize it, in a way, we can definitely say, the government is moving, but not actually trying do something.
@@Neurotik51 Shutting down their call centers, temporarily or for good, getting law enforcement involved, exposing corrupted officers and politicians, all of these things help. On the long run, it's true that the effect is limited, as even if you completely dismantle an operation, new ones can get setup to take its place. To root out scamming on the long run, you need to root out corruption at a systemic level in India and other countries where scammers can operate with relative impunity. You need to attack crime at its root, which means fighting poverty, offering young people (especially young men) some legitimate ways to make a living so there is less incentive to turn to crime. Unfortunately, there isn't not a lot that scam baiters can do on that front. Scambaiters can wield the stick but they can't wield the carrot. The stick on its own has limited power. But the stick is still a useful tool. They are doing what they can. Basically, rooting out the whole problem would require changing a whole society which is way beyond what small actors like this can do. They can treat the symptoms but not the disease. But treating the symptoms of a disease is still useful.
@@Neurotik51if nothing else this project adds major delays to the scammer's wrath. and clearly the government is not much considering how many innocent people get scammed every single day.
considering the fact that scammers are growing in numbers everyday with new methods and more creative ways, evolving like a virus as the number of their victims increases, the government doesn't do much, of anything at all. and that goes for all the north america not just US@@Neurotik51

@@AfrolovertjeOne time, before I was medicated and still full of rage, I spent 4 hours calling back a call center that attempted to scam me, wasting their time, and screaming obscenities. What I learned in that time is that they don't actually believe we are innocent. At least the "people" I talked to believe that. There seems to be this broad, generalized mentality that America as a whole is stealing from India and doing other nefarious stuff. In their eyes, they're on the same crusade that Perogi is.
I literally never answer any call that isnt saved in my phone because im tried of dealing with scammers. Hopefully none of my family calls me from jail or in an emergency because i wont answer lol
Yeah it doesn't help that even when I am working in a call center I can't tell if what I am working on is a scam or not
The federal government should be helping y'all with funds. Go get them guys. Love love love your work.
I'm currently with a retailer, and previously I worked for medical and disability insurance companies. People are so leery of answering their phones that they miss legit calls with important information. I nearly had to send a freight shipment for thousands of dollars back yesterday, because the customer wouldn't accept a call from the freight company's unknown number to schedule the delivery.
This gives me so much respect for AnyDesk. Unlike a lot of companies, they DO care who their customers are.
I am not sure, but maybe they could almost eliminate the problem. If AnyDesk built in an advanced My-Ip and refused to work in India.
@@friedmule5403 Refusing to work in India would for sure have it's benefits, but also have a lot of drawbacks since the legit companies would suffer

Creating a tangible community to fight against scammers | Teaching others how to scam bait | increasing awareness on this issue | actually saving innocent defenseless people | banning and stopping call centers…
Dude, this is the beginning of history.
Go Big. Go Far. Go Strong. And Don’t Stop.
My concern is that they are also teaching to scammers present at the meeting the tricks to scam honest peoples at the same time.
If we removed the profit motive from our economy, all scammers and criminals would vanish.
These guys do more to stop the scammers than our governments .❤
Unfortunately what they do likely doesn't actually prevent much scamming long term, this is just feels good stuff. Also you have no idea what governments are doing to prevent stuff like this so I'm not sure where your comment comes from.
