Most Aussies live in the suburbs, not the city centre or immediate surrounds. Did you look in established residential inner suburbs with more character, more amenities and more trees? Most have low-rise flats, good public transport and a sense of community that you won't find in the city centre. Examples: Elwood, Glenhuntly, Murrumbeena, Hawthorn, Camberwell, Kew, Alphington etc.
Totally understand this! However for now we really want to be closer to the city as this point in our lives - just left suburbia in the UK so not quite wanting that atm. I can definitely see the benefits for the future though - thanks for the recommendations 🤩
@@Katielharwood most of those examples would fit into what we would classify as as “inner suburbs” which means progressive city type areas that just happen to be outside the city. Elwood in particular as it a beachside suburb right next to st kilda which is a massive tourist destination. Actual suburbia would be further out than these. Basically theyre suburbs families who would like to be as close to the city as possible but still maintain a sense of community live. Which makes them nicer for couples and singles too.
10 people viewing at the same time makes it seem like the highest bidder takes the apartment. The landlords couldn't more happier than now when the demand exceeds supply.
Coming from an old house in the UK, we aren’t currently wanting an older house. Maybe once we own one, but if we are gonna pay rent we want it new and fresh 🤩
Indeed! Finding a job, apartment, and learning RUclips/video editing all at the same time means the video took a little backseat for a while, but I’m so happy to finally post it 🥰
Hi guys!! Hope this is helpful! Which one would you go for?
Yes love to see what you finally chose! Welcome to Australia ❤

Yeah, it’s definitely their market !
Richmond has always been my favourite suburb to live in.
I do like Richmond! But also love the southern suburbs and access to the beach
I live in Melbourne I would love to live in the city one day a friend of mine use to live in the last apartment you showed …crazy
small world!
Yes please show us the apartment you chose and did get. Can't wait to see it. Cheers 🤗👍
6:04 Can see my disgust having the first sip of that coffee 😂
You were NOT a fan 🤣
Now I wanna know about the Richmond drama😂
Let’s just say… questionable agents, lack of internet and a few other red flags! 🤣
I idea why RUclips recommended this but glad they did! Cool long form zen video.
yay! glad you enjoyed 💖
The Albert park view one will have 4 days of the Grand Prix, may be a good or bad thing 😂
Haha yes I thought this! Would be great to have a watch party on that balcony!
Some of those are so expensive just for 1 bedroom.
it's tough!
8:00 huh? Abbotsford is next to one of the largest nicest park areas in Melbourne.. you can literally see it from the balcony!?!
did you mean to say party? im confused
@@Katielharwood oopse meant to be "park"
Google the building 12 Queens rd Melbourne. Indoor pool roof top garden with BBQ gym and party room
You can’t find anything a little older that is cheaper than the new builds? I live in a 1970 built apartment but it had a lot of renovations done

18th September? So you’ve posted this 2 months later? Good luck with the search

@ you’re doing a great job juggling it all !
Abbotsford is east of Melbourne not north as she stated.
you can tell i'm new here, hey! 🤣
Actually it's north-east of Melbourne, so she was half right.
More like kennels.
Best of luck with your new life down under 😊
@@emmaradcliffe2950 aw thanks so much!! 🩷
Hope you didn't end up in a dump.
All expensive suburbs to rent
yep, closer to things = more £££!
Why do the agents not close the toilet lids? Super gross!
Omg they defo should, right?! Would make it so much better
My fave part of Melbourne to live is Southbank & south melbourne
i agree!
