The final scene of the movie was absolutely hilarious. I couldn’t believe they absolutely went for it and brought Clooney in as Bruce Wayne. That put a huge smile on my face.
I actually wasn’t mad about that, it seems Ezra Miller is going to be stuck on a world where George Clooney is Batman which feels strange to even say, but I find it hilarious
@Random RUclips Civilian Which means that if we do get a crossover event in a future DCU property, George Clooney's Batman could be returning WITH Ezra Miller's Flash. Wild.
“These scars we have, make us who we are. We’re not meant to go back and fix them… Don’t let your tragedy define you.”- Bruce Wayne This moment really got to me. 💔
I’m also extremely confused why people are disliking the film. The CGI leaves a lot to be desired but the plot is very unique and creative and the acting especially by Ezra Miller is incredible
@@therealfireface I was kinda dissapointed. From bad cgi, underutilizing Super Girl and Zod, the soundtrack, the story. It was all kinda bordering on underwhelming. It also didn't help that the movie was marketed as one of the superhero movies
Can I call this movie one of the greatest comic book movies ever made? No. But can I call this a very enjoyable comic book film? Yes. I’ve seen it twice in the last twenty six hours, and both times I really enjoyed it. It’s very well paced, the action sequences had a lot of variety and were very well handled, I thought Sasha Calle did very well as Supergirl, the emotional moments were very touching, I love time travel stories, a lot of the humor landed quite well for myself and people at both of my showings, and yes, Ezra Miller gave a great performance as Barry Allen/The Flash. Now, there were certainly plenty of issues with the CGI, secondary Barry grated on me after a while, and because I don’t have nostalgia for Michael Keaton’s Batman films, this movie wasn’t necessarily as special for me as it probably is for a lot of people who grew up on Batman 1989 & Batman Returns. But right now, I think it’s one of the stronger DCEU films that definitely delivered on the majority of what I was looking forward to.
I had no problem with the Christopher Reeve CGI character. I took it as even though the actor has passed, his performance as Superman will live forever. I LOVED the Nicolas Cage/Superman Lives cameo. Got to actually see what we almost got. I cracked up & applauded when George Clooney popped up at the end. I enjoyed this movie very much. Was so happy to see THE Batman Michael Keaton come back.
This was a lot better than I expected. In fact It's one of my favorite DCEU movies along with Aquaman. I've said it before that I've never been a fan of Ezra Miller and I'm still not. But I'll give him credit, he gave a great performance. It was great to see Michael Keaton as Batman again. He's still one of my favorite live action Batman along with Ben Affleck and Robert Pattinson. The visual effects weren't as bad as I had been hearing, but they could have been better. The end when he interacts with his mom in the grocery store was very emotional. Overall it was very entertaining and I would definitely see this again in theaters.
I watched it and LOVED IT. Really surprised by how controversial this movie has been to be honest. It was really fun, cgi was bad but it didn't bother me. One of my favorite movies of the year so far, besides across the spiderverse.
I was pretty skeptical about this film but I was pleasantly surprised. Twitter seems to be blindly hating on this movie just because they’re biased against Ezra Miller. The only real complaint I’ve seen are surface level “CGI bad” and most of the people saying that haven’t even seen the movie.
The first act felt like watching a Sami rami spiderman movie, The second act was fantastic and some of the best superhero movie moments, and the third act was damped by the cameos but still great.
Overall, I very much enjoyed the film. Yes, I have some minor issues with it (though the CGI was not a a problem for me.) What I didn't like: 1) Young Barry's goofiness got annoying for me, and 2) I found saving falling babies a bit tonally awkward. BUT, those two things aside, I loved almost everything else: Michael Keaton was incredible. Great nostalgic moments for this long-time 89' Batman fan. Plus, this movie delivered my now-favorite action sequence of Keaton as Batman. I only wish he had more screen time. Supergirl's character had intrigue, depth, and beauty. They made her a powerhouse and I loved it. So good in fact, that, like Keaton, I would've enjoyed more screen time from Kara. The emotional undercurrent and closing scene with Barry's mother were expertly written. Ah, but cherry on top? Seeing Christopher Reeve's Superman on the big screen in 2023 brought a tear to my eye. I'd see it three more times just for that. Fantastic film. I'm sad the DCEU is ending.
The opening scene reminds me of Superman 78 & Raimi Spider-Man that superhero saving citizens is so much fun to watch back in the day. Nowadays, they're whether too serious or too silly. This is the perfect tone.
Honestly it’s the opposite of No Way Home for me. A strong first half setting up the personal stakes and reason to travel into the multiverse, with a rushed last half with forced cameos and no stakes by the end of the film. Like really the only negative is that Batman changes again to a different actor and Barry’s dad actually benefits from what happened. Where is the lesson. This compares to NWH with a rushed first half and weak set up to the multiverse. But a very personal last half where Holland goes through an arc and learns his lesson, complimented by cameos. Remember when the sky opened up and ‘they are all coming through’ - well they didn’t show us these cameos instead the flash does the same thing but forces in dead actors like what?! By the end Peter learns from his mistakes/sacrifice and pays for them by no one remembering him and May’s death. I came out of No Way Home thinking that Peter’s story was the best part complimented by the past characters appearing, I come out of the Flash going Keaton was the best part. A better set up but a way worse pay off.
I have to say, I think this film was great. This might be even more polarizing than Multiverse of Madness, while some are loving the movie, some are saying it’s a mess. For me, the only thing I was a bit annoyed about was the third act. Even that wasn’t nearly as bad as I expected as it was incredibly flawed but also highly entertaining and thought provoking. The humor wasn’t great but definitely hit better than recent MCU films. The story felt very emotional, not only for Barry but also for Bruce Wayne and I thought the whole thing was compelling and thrilling. This felt like a giant service to me as a huge fan of DC. It’s not the best comic book movie or even necessarily a top 5 DC movie. However, for a film that was in development hell for this long and had a PR nightmare as the star, it was incredible. Also, as someone who is very mixed on the Snyderverse, I was surprised on how compelling a movie about saving a universe I didn’t live actually was. The CGI was good except for the time travel scenes (which looked like PS4 cutscenes and were horrible to look at). SPOILERS FROM THIS POINT ON: I think the ending symbolizes (i read an article on this) that this version of the DCEU is truly dead and being fully rebooted. This has been confirmed obviously but it leaves in question whether Miller, Momoa, and Gadot will return. They probably won’t, especially considering the numbers at the box office for how the movie is likely going to do. Nevertheless, it was okay to me. The only reason I didn’t hate it is because I know it’s not permanent. It’s never been in question that Clooney seriously returning to be Batman in the DCU would be ridiculous and this was kinda funny to me. I really think that Wally West should be our Flash from now on, Momoa should obviously play Lobo, and I think the Sif actor would be a good Wonder Woman. Speaking of actors, this was the first movie where I could really see Ezra Miller as The Flash. They’ve always been a miscast for me, but I really thought they were great in this film. Also, yes, Michael Keaton was a scene stealer. Supergirl was underutilized but still felt like she worked in the story. However, the villains weren’t amazing to me. Zod is just kinda abandoned at one point and you don’t really see him again. This is awkward pacing, because just a minute after the two characters die, they realize that it has to happen and they can’t change it. Zod vanishes from that point on. Dark Flash was incredibly rushed and they should’ve done more building up with him. He barely had any screen time and it felt lazy to not show the other Barry’s full descent into madness (it didn’t make sense that he died at his own hands, he should have turned fully into Dark Flash and forced Barry to kill him) To conclude, I loved this movie. It’s potentially the Last Jedi or Multiverse of Madness of DC, but this time, I’m on the side of this movie. It was so much more beautiful and compelling than those films and ranks highly among the DCEU films for me. 8.5/10
I actually really enjoyed The Flash. I gave it an 8.5/10 as a whole. I actually really enjoyed the ending and all the cameos at the end was the most fun part. I thought the CGI actually wasn’t all that bad except for when Barry was saving all the babies falling out of the hospital and the babies just looked clearly like dolls. Michael Keaton was fantastic coming back as Batman as well.
Do you think John Wesley Shipp or Grant Gustin should've had a cameo in the movie. I feel like they could've fit them in perfectly especially with how the 3rd Acts goes.
The ending kind of reminds me of what Captain Picard says to Data in an episode of Star Trek The Next Generation when he says *you can do everything right and still lose that's not failure that's just life*. The Flash, Batman and Supergirl do everything they think they need to do to win but still lose because that's the way it was meant to be.
The movie hooked me as soon as I seen all the diffeent DC and Warner bros logo came up. Unique type of cbm, very fun film. Also Barry going to metropolis and covering that kids eye is one of the best scenes in a comic book film.
Like you, I found it refreshing that the point of this movie's message with time travel is...some things are just meant to be. You can't change it. So many time travel movies unravel with it being all about preventing something or changing something. X-Men: Days of Future Past even has Beast give a monologue about how maybe time works like a river, and no matter what you do, time just keeps flowing the same way like the current, but the entire point of that film is that they prove that theory wrong. This movie completely leans into that theory, and it was different. I dug it
So much to dig into but I’m currently at the point in the video where you mention the element of surprise with Keaton. So I’m 30, my sister is 38. She doesn’t go to the movies or care for the superhero flicks like I do. She hasn’t been to the movies since no way home. So when she first saw old man Bruce she kept wondering who it was and when she realized it was Keaton, the reaction was incredible. Took her back to her childhood essentially. She looked at me and said “is that really our Batman?” So yeah… element of surprise would’ve been great.
That Keaton Batman Russian Rescue segment was the BEST Batman I've ever seen! This movie was one of the best Super Hero movies I've ever seen! GREAT MOVIE!!!
Had my doubts going in, but I thoroughly enjoyed this movie. Solid 8-8.5/10. Probably my 2nd best DCEU movie behind Man of Steel. The CGI holds it back, if the effects were done better, might be looking at one of the best comic book movies ever in my opinion.
My problems with this movie would be the battle with Zod as it felt rather silly and anticlimactic. Zod and Faora should've done more. Also I love Supergirl but she was barely given anything at all she should've done more rather than going out the way she did.
I've not been a DC watcher. Id seen some, but I've always been full MCU. But then....i saw the trailer for this. With Keaton back, the Multiverse, and what seemed like a very grown up story with a ton of heart; i was extremely excited for a movie about a character i knew nothing about and the return of a batman that i had no attachment to. To prepare, i filled in the gaps of my watched DC films! Over the past couple weeks; i watched Batman, Batman Returns, Batman v Superman, Wonder Woman, Snyder's Justice League(2 times), Josstice League, Birds of Prey, WW84, Shazam 2, Peacemaker S1, and Batman Begins(just in case!😉) Enjoyed everything! And now that ive seen the movie that inspired me to attempt this madness; ill say it was all worth it! Not only did i watch a lot of great movies, but i was more prepared, and got to fully enjoy this AMAZING Flash film!! Great action, flash abilities are so frickin fun, goofy barry was hilarious but still treated with respect, amazing emotional weight throughout, Keaton has a great return arc. Keaton was handled perfectly!! They give him a full story that honors the character. He gets a LOT, but he never steals the movie from Barry! Love these super hero movies with consequences and serious lessons to be learned. Especially for otherwise lovable, innocent, and lighthearted characters like Barry and Tom Holland's Peter Parker. Not every mistake can be undone, you can't always get what you want. You have to grow up and face these truths. As sad as that can be, it is also refreshing to see in these movies. CGI is noticable at first, but im not bothered by it. His "floating" run has always been a little weird. I thought i remember it being this way in Justice League as well at times. Or am i wrong? Either way, im 100% Satisfied with this one. (I also went and saw Across the Spiderverse immediately after this. Another great, heavy, emotional movie! (It was an amazing day at the theater 😁)
In my opinion, I was not a big fan of Ezra's performance. I thought he was pretty irritating, which I know is his character but it still bugged me. That might just be a bit of Ezra bias though so I'm not sure. Absolutely loved seeing all the cameos, especially Keaton's batman.
I actually enjoyed the movie a lot more than I expected to. It was really emotional and fun. I’d probably give it a 8/10. My biggest complaints are that Supergirl felt underutilized (Sasha Calle was GREAT though), the very poor CGI, and Barry 2 was kinda annoying. But I LOVED all the Batman stuff, and Prime Barry’s story with his mother brought me to tears a couple times. That was handled very well. I don’t think it’s quite one of the best CBMs ever, but it’s VERY enjoyable and good, and not NEARLY as bad as twitter will tell you.
I don't know how they call it a mess and hard to follow, me and my sons (6 and 8) could easily follow it the whole way through and loved it. Gonna watch again for Father's day!
@@onmas909 yeah I'm sure my boys didn't really understand a lot in the film but they really had fun with it. I'm trying to go solo to watch it again but they wanna go too.😄
I literally just watched the movie and honestly I really liked it. I don’t love this movie but I think it’s a really solid and enjoyable film. I do think that the middle of the movie was a little slow and the third act was kind of weak. But I’ll be honest, it didn’t hurt the movie too much. It’s still really fun!
I didn’t really care to go see it at all, I really only went because it happened to be out and me and my friends happened to go to the theater a couple days ago. I don’t know if it was because I wasn’t expecting anything but I ended up really liking it, and the more I think about it the better it gets. Not amazing but I’d say it’s one of the better DCEU films. One thing I will say though is that my friend who was hyped and had pretty high anticipation for this was disappointed, so again, I think this is a movie that you kind of just have to watch not expecting anything and then look back and say, “hey, that was actually pretty good.”
I thought that the coloseum conceptualisation of the multiverse as you call it was very clever. My 6 yo, even tough he did not understand all the subtilities of the timeline, still understood that those different colored spheres crashing into one another meant universes were colliding. I think thats great that they made it so easy to understand and follow whats going on in those different universe.
I think you have to have The Flash just run like normal, show him moving at super high speed, then show that the faster he goes, the fewer "frames" of him you can see, like a really fast moving fan.
I loved this movie. The time traveling in this movie was super unique and i loved it. CGI aside (which honestly i didnt think was that bad) i think this movie was a 9.5/10. Also the movie was super funny
I’m just gonna put my random thoughts down here Honestly, I did like the twist that young Barry became future Barry. It makes sense. It’s really a film that’s all over the place, but it has enough to keep it together and entertaining. Ezra Miller is a good flash and he did do a good job acting as two (technically 3) Barry’s. I’m still supremely upset with how the studio is handling all the scandals but for what it is, it’s a great performance. Batfleck’s suit looked weird for some reason, but I’m glad we got to see him and Wonder Woman one last time. The 30 seconds she was there she always steals the movie. God I’m gonna miss that theme. This is probably the best and worst movie to handle the concept of multiverses. Best in that I like the idea of giant spheres, it helps visualize it. Worst in the fact that dear lord those cameos shouldn’t have been there minus Nick Cage. I get the point to them but the actors have passed away and we should really respect that. I kinda hoped they would’ve handled it like Doctor Who does with their own cameos and just play old clips of the actual movie and fit it in that way. Cgi is awful dear lord it’s a ps3 cutscene and idk if that’s an artistic choice or not but seeing flash in the time stream was hella wonky. They kinda wasted the weight of the world ending with General Zod, they definitely could’ve done more with that but they kinda rushed it at the end despite the twist villain working. He just wasn’t there for enough time. Yes I cried with Barry’s Mom and also when Barry’s dad was proven innocent. The amount of weight put into that scene should’ve been a lot more but I’m okay with what we got. There’s also too many moments deemed too serious when it should’ve been funny and too funny when it should’ve been serious. The Flashpoint is always an incredible story to tell. From the beginning I knew at least the basic concept of Barry saving his mom would be enough for this movie to settle, but I’m glad we explored young Barry too. It just needed to iron out some wrinkles and tie it in better. Other than that I do appreciate the movie. I’m glad the DCEU is over and ended on a high note and that this new DC universe will bring some new breath into the superhero genre.
I’m pretty sure the hate comes from the movies past. It had a messy production. Ezra is a controversial figure. The DCEU as a whole is controversial. That’s 3 levels of controversies by the movies release. That’s not necessarily the PR that gets people sitting in the theatre eagerly anticipating the movie. It’s the PR that makes people assume the film will be bad and will put it in their own heads that whatever choices the movie makes is a bad decision. “The cameos are bad. The story has no emotional weight”. Any objective criticisms like the CGI only further enhance their own points. I was excited for The Flash and I adore it. A solid 8.5/10. But the history around the movie, no matter if the movie had a perfect story and perfect cgi, etc, people will still find ways to have a problem with it, because they went in expecting the movie to be bad to the point that they want the movie to be bad.
I saw this film at Cinemacon at the end. I thought it was better than No Way Home, but I do agree the CGI wasn’t good. I can excuse that because of what this film made me feel.
To me, the bad CGI wasn't noticeable enough to dampen my enjoyment of the film. I did feel like the film started to get a tad slow in the 3rd act, but the pay off at the end was worth it. I really loved seeing Michael Keaton again as Batman, and the different portrayals of the various DC characters when Flash sees the different timelines was a nice touch. Overall, it was a great experience for me and my group.
I thought the weird looking CGI and visuals gave the movie a nice, goofy charm. And as a fan of Flashpoint this movie definitely honored and did the comic justice.
Just got home the theater, perfect timing. I really enjoyed this film. Definitely not the best, but really entertaining, fun, and funny. Loved the characters and the themes. I wish delved more into the real main villain and wish we saw more of Kara - I really hope she shows up in James Gunn's DCU. She might have been my favorite part of the movie. Also loved Keaton, and that they didn't turn him into a shell of himself like some other legacy sequels. He completed his mission, so he retired. I do think the cameo palazzo CGI recreation of Christopher Reeves was in poor taste. they didn't even play the theme :(
Read supergirl woman of tomorrow the comic came out last year and it’s arguably the best Supergirl comic out there & James Gunn is turning that into a movie
@@charlesevanshughes3638 I think they should've done an Arrowverse world instead, with Grant Gustin and Tyler Hoechlin as Flash and Superman. In a movie that shows off alternate universes with these familiar faces, it felt odd to me that person who's been playing the Flash for about a decade and has been the mainstream embodiment of the character didn't get any acknowledgement. Say what you will about his show (it sucked the last few years for sure), but Grant was always fantastic as Barry, and I would've loved to see him recognized instead of recreating a dead man, iconic though he may be.
I didnt mind the cgi much, did the babies and dog look fake? Yea but i dont mind them looking fake since they're in danger, did the cameos look waxy? Yep, but that was the point, whether you like it or not, the director wanted a waxy figure look to the people
I totally agree with you about the cold open. I love that kind of stuff with the little stuff we get to see them stop once in a while. It’s like in injustice when we cut to the normal universe and they’re just beating up doomsday. Little side stuff is always fun.
Sean, I’m someone who has been veryyyy out on most superhero films. If there was one person this movie had to win over, it was me. And I really enjoyed it. I laughed a lot. I was bought into the story. Ezra was likable. The cameos worked for me, for the most part. The CGI was rough. Distractingly so. That said it’s still a 4/5 for me
The movie was excellent the only issue which I had was that the movie was overshadowed by the comic adaptation they missed many crucial oppurnity i think Keaton should have played Thomas Wayne and they should have included that letter scene , for me the movie was still a 9.5/10 but It was like that it still missed some crucial story points Maybe I have this feeling because spiderverse also touched this topic of cannon events just 2 weeks ago and we saw literally the same thing again But I still loved the movie it was a cinematic experience ,was filled with emotions the acting was amazing I think it is the best DC movie just like they all said
The moment with Christopher Reeve's Superman had me tear me up, too. I never thought I'd see him on the big screen ever again in a new superhero film. But there he was. It was really emotional as he was the genesis for my love of superhero movies.
One of the best DCEU films and of the year. Does The Flashpoint elements it adapts justice while doing it's own thing with the story. Miller as a person aside crushed it as did Keaton And Calle. Love the mix of Emotional Drama And Humor. Cage's Supes is one of the best cameos ever. Love Clooney's Batman at the end. Funny scene and hope that end is a excuse to not have Miller In The DCU.
If only Andy Muschietti didn’t spoil Nicholas Cage in the movie weeks before the movie came out, I would have exploded in the theater if I didn’t know it prior. Technically Nic already voiced Superman in the Teen Titans Go movie.
Great breakdown of this one! A lot of this hate I think is brought on by Ezra irl. The movie is for sure not perfect, particularly in the visuals department, but the story arc and the way it plays out was so so interesting
I wish in the speed force scenes they maybe committed to a “sands of time” concept I was seeing with all the sand falling out while he was in the ball. Like if the old memories were maybe sand constructs, or images made of that “sands of time” would have tied it all together nicely 👏🏽
Watched "across the spiderverse" and "the flash" back-to-back. I prefer "the flash." Loved the peaks into the multiverses at the end. Superman Lives! ❤
I wasnt really happy with the 3rd act with dark flash it really felt underwhelming in my opinion but after seeing this review and understanding what it actually meant I think I really like it actually it's something different
I can't believe we live in a world where Jamie foxx came back as electro and now GEROGE CLOONEY AS BRUCE WAYNE heck we can Beleive in anything happening now. Kinda sad we saw no physical appearance of Henry or Grant Gustin. At least Barry meeting his younger self and just remembering his encounter in crisis. But who knows if that's even cannon.
My only real complaint about the story is no reverse flash but I did appreciate the reference to Tom Cavanagh CW season 1 reverse flash when Barry does the vibrating hand thing
Despite the movie having some crappy CGI and some jokes went on for far too long, I really enjoyed the movie and I did get emotional at the end when Barry sees his Mom at the store.
I as a massive Flash fan really loved this movie. Ezra Miller is phenomenal as the Flash. I am 100% going to buy this movie as soon as it hits DVD because it was one of the best movies I have ever seen. 10/10
this was the coldest audience I ever watched a movie with lmao. They laughed at the 2 best jokes and apart from that was completely silent which made the 50 or so setups to cheer really awkward
Really fun movie! Most of the CGI PlayStation character cameos were more goofy looking then they were cool but still fun movie, it gives DC life in the nostalgic area, Great Flawed but still fun time
26:50 I agree about comedy but that's why I think people are too harsh on Marvel movies. You'd think everyone had never seen a movie with a joke before with how they complain about it. I get it's subjective but that's my thought. That cameo scene- I liked it but I did feel a bit uncomfortable with how they did it. I loved the end stinger.
Sean, thank you for your balanced commentary. Despite the controversies surrounding Ezra, the film, for me is truly compelling. Happy to be alive and have seen it.
This was a solid fun movie, definitely wouldnt call it one of my favs. Loved seeing Keaton suit up again, he kicked butt. The 3rd act did not work for me for the most part, the ending was unsatisfying for me. But nonetheless I enjoyed it, a solid 7/10.
This movie was surprisingly good. They could have left out the nudity and rather had a pg rating instead of PG13. This was much different from the previous DC films and the way it moves ahead was good and very heartfelt. Some great action as well. The quieter moments, like a grumpy Bruce Wayne making spaghetti, was my highlight rather than the action sequences
The guy in the Batman shirt couldn’t have said it better, it is dcs no way home but cleaned up on the plot in the ways nwh was lacking. I will say that maybe this flash movie could’ve been a sequel to a one where they focused on the reverse flash in the first, because this felt like the grand finale to a trilogy
I watched this movie 3 days ago in my country and I have to say I loved it. However, I notice some problems in this movie like the CGI. It's not perfect, but I still enjoy it and would probably do a rewatch despite its problems.
At my screening many viewers were lost, only a few laughed when Clooney showed up. I don't think they knew he'd played Batman. That was a dumb move from James Gunn. They should have kept the original ending with Keaton at the courthouse. Now all I really want is a Keaton prequel, I need to know what happened to his Bruce between '92 and the Flash events. Michael kicked ass, no other actor should be cast moving forward as long as Keaton is alive and kicking.
yeah very strange move. Even if they're not moving forward with Michael Keaton in other projects, it's a more fulfilling ending instead of just one more cameo.
One thing I noticed is how, it seems Eobard didn’t kill Nora, or at the very least, Barry didn’t see him, but even in Justice League, I remember an article mentioning Barry telling the police about ‘The Man In Yellow’
Honestly I thought the script was great! The acting was good for the most part, very emotional, but the CGI was a HUGE problem. Movie also takes take to subtly diss the MCU 😂 but also shows aspects where they are blatantly copying the MCU. While entertaining and enjoyable it has its flaws. I say 7.8/10
one of my biggest praises for the film is supergirl, i think the actress does a brilliant job and really blew me away with what i expected based on the trailers, i hope she gets like a tv show where she survives in a different timeline or something along those lines, always great to see michael keaton batman and the old batcave. always like to see zod and the cameos are great and in some cases funny. only thing i'd have liked would have been to see michelle pfeiffer with batman. all round brilliant film for me, top 3 of the year so far easily
Great movie I think the bad cgi comment is understandable but Andy muschetti has claimed it was supposed to look bad or uncanny as a stylistic approach (in the multiverse parts in particular) and I could see that to be honest I just don't agree that he shouldve done that hah. Also missed Ben afflecks voice modulator😢
I added the entire series of *Derry* *Girls* only recently on my smartphone even though I can always stream it on Netflix. Fell in love with the show 2+ years ago recommended by Mindy Minx, a RUclips vlogger. It was great to see *Saoirse-Monica* *Jackson* in The Flash. She has this awkward face like Nicola Coughlan. Like when she cringes the way Jaime Pressly cringes in Not Another Teen Movie (2001), it looks funny. Her and RUclipsr, *Rudy* *Mancuso,* were great to see here. The iPhone X by Pineapple 🍍 from Rudy still makes me laugh. The three best parts of The Flash - 1. The tearful scene with Barry's mom 2. MICHAEL KEATON 3. The fan service scene with all the cameos There are problems to the movie and Tyrone Magnus points them all out. Young Barry is annoying af. He's not funny. He's just dumb. The jokes don't land. The special effects are pretty bad too. All the running stuff with the two Barrys (or Barries) to travel back in time got annoying. Like, WTF are they doing? I thought the first 30 minutes of the film was a little bit dull. It didn't really get going for me until one of Barry's roommates mentioned Eric Stoltz portrays Marty McFly which he originally was until they went with Michael J. Fox to keep the tone less serious. Cool to see a Universal film get referenced so much in a Warners Bros. film. Any Back To The Future references, I'm all ears because that's my favorite movie franchise ever followed by Indiana Jones. Then The Flash started to feel like the 2nd act of Back To The Future Part II with the alternative 1985 timeline. Michael Keaton returned once again to prove he's the greatest Batman to ever live. And I'm not actually the biggest Keaton fan as Batman. My fav was Battinson and Batfleck. But in this film, Keaton's Batman had the best action sequences for Batman ever captured on film. He moved fast unlike Bale's and Affleck's. I know it's all stunt doubles and CGI but he moved quick and slick. Once we see Keaton, the movie starts to pick up. He's really who a lot of the viewers were paying to see. To see Keaton one last time as Batman. The Batman of my generation. Keaton is the reason why I became a Batman fan when I was 8. When Keaton says "I'm Batman" and "You wanna get nuts?", I can hear a few audience members applauding. I still think Keaton had the best Batman suit and Batmobile ever. If Bale and Affleck are like Kobe and LeBron for a younger generation who missed out on the 90s, Michael Keaton as Batman is our Michael Jordan. The movie OG, baby 🐐. I heard applause for Keaton and when we see Nic Cage as Superman. My Favorite Cameos 1. Christopher Reeve & Helen Slater 2. George Clooney 🤣🤣🤣 3. Adam West, Burt Ward, Cesar Romero 4. George Reeves 5. Nicolas Cage 6. Gal Gadot 7. Jason Momoa 8. Temuera Morrison The tribute to George Reeves, Christopher Reeve, and Adam West are the most touching since they all have passed away. They're not technically cameos but I guess for this film, they are. Gal, Jason, and Temuera wasn't surprising at all. The Nic Cage was the one I didn't understand. I wasn't aware of a canceled Superman film involving him until I looked it up after I saw the film. I don't know the Golden Age Flash, so Teddy Sears as Jay Garrick flies right over my head. And I did not see Jaime fookin' Lannister eating a pizza. Overall, I liked the movie. I enjoyed it more than Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 which I barely saw yesterday. I'm not sure The Flash is the most rewatchable film. The CGI is bad in a lot of spots. The pacing can be a little off. It has a story as stupid as No Way Home with mostly fan service and nostalgia as bait. The jokes don't really land most of the time because younger Barry is dumb af. The Flash can get too goofy when it shouldn't be. Goofy? If you ever seen Swingers (1996) and Ron Livingston most famous for Office Space, you would understand the Goofy reference. Maribel Verdú was great to see. The Spanish 🇪🇸 actress has come a long way. From an awkward sex scene with Diego Luna to both being in Star Wars or DCEU projects. BTW, I'm enjoying Andor. It's a slow burn but it's worth giving a second chance with. Most movies I enjoy these days tends to be ones I enjoy listening to. Not action films that forces me to watch it. It's probably why comedies remains my favorite genre. I'll play them in the background to quote them and laugh. I love movies like The Big Lebowski, The Hateful Eight, and Once Upon A Time... In Hollywood. I like my movies to have good dialogue and music. I'm liking this 2016 film starring Michael Keaton called The Founder. It's McDonald's origin story. At age 42 turning 43 in Dec, I'm more into real-life stories. Movies like Chaplin (1992), The Founder (2016), Elvis (2022), Air (2023), and BlackBerry (2023). That's why I enjoy Winning Time on HBO even though I hate the Lakers. I'm aware these movies are not really accurate. But I like the fact they were real people and some of the anecdotes were real. I'm getting too old from all this superhero sh*t. It's really catered for kids like cartoons do. My Top 3 *Favorites* For 2023 1. Air 2. BlackBerry 3. The Flash John Wick: Chapter 4 and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 are so overrated. Quantumania is one of the worst movies I've seen since Solo in 2018. Worse than that and Attack of the Clones. Only Batman & Robin is worse than Quantumania for me. Can't wait for Indiana Jones 5 and Dead Reckoning Part 1. And why not? I'll watch Barbie. 🤷🏻 I'm sorta torn right now with The Flash. I'll still have it as my 3rd fav film of 2023 but that could change in a hurry with repeat viewings. I do think multiverse makes a really bad plot device. It's really used as an excuse to offer cameos. It's gimmicky. The only ones I've enjoyed using multiverse was that Family Guy episode, the animated Spider-Man ones, and Loki S1. For folks who quit on Andor, you should give it another chance. I know the first 2 episodes were rough to watch. Bored me to sleep twice! I know it followed up disappointments like The Book of Boba Fett and Obi-Wan Kenobi. But once you get to Ep 4-6 involving a heist, it gets very interesting. I finished Ep 10 and it's probably the best episode I've ever seen from a SW streaming series. This feels ADULT. No kiddie sh*t. No Grogu to sell toys. It's speaking to our age. I don't see it attacking Trump's administration and "I'm a IDGAF what you think of me, shameless, proud, deplorable, Trumper." And I'm not even white! Andor is like the closest to being similar to Game of Thrones in terms of tone and political intrigue. Is Andor better than The Mandalorian? Maybe. I have to see the last 2 episodes. But it's worth checking out. "ONE WAY OUT!"
I just watched it today and quite liked it. The terrible CGI is real. A lot of it looked bad, especially during the first rescue of the babies/dog scene. That rescue scene I also thought was incredibly cringy. The ending fight sequence in the desert (until the Barrys start trying to keep fixing time) was just an uninteresting CGI fight with not that creative of action. Everything else I liked though and the emotional arc of Barry was good.
The final scene of the movie was absolutely hilarious. I couldn’t believe they absolutely went for it and brought Clooney in as Bruce Wayne. That put a huge smile on my face.
I was already laughing the whole way through once I saw my man Nicolas Cage as Superman
Yeah I wasn't expecting that and I geeked out with a huge smile on my face. So good.
I actually wasn’t mad about that, it seems Ezra Miller is going to be stuck on a world where George Clooney is Batman which feels strange to even say, but I find it hilarious
@Random RUclips Civilian
Which means that if we do get a crossover event in a future DCU property, George Clooney's Batman could be returning WITH Ezra Miller's Flash. Wild.
@@HonestJohn_01.19 that would be… a choice, lol
“These scars we have, make us who we are. We’re not meant to go back and fix them… Don’t let your tragedy define you.”- Bruce Wayne
This moment really got to me. 💔
One of the best lines in recent memory. What a way for Batfleck to go out
@@zekegonzaldi6230 Right?! Loved that line. Oh I completely agree. I’m in the minority but I loved Ben Affleck as Bruce Wayne/Batman. 🦇🙌
Oh yeah, there were so many great emotional threads I forgot about that one that was excellent. I loved this movie.
Not this time, maybe some other time 😢 - Both Bruce Wayne
I loved when Bens Batman jumped Into the thugs car and slammed them into the steering wheel
This is the first movie in a while that actually made me genuinely laugh, and for that I really enjoyed it
Me too especially with some of the CGI moments like when Flash discovered time travel. The way he was getting dragged it made me smile with humor.
I’m also extremely confused why people are disliking the film. The CGI leaves a lot to be desired but the plot is very unique and creative and the acting especially by Ezra Miller is incredible
This is exactly how I felt. I was worried I would be disappointed but I ended up loving it
People wanted a serious culmination of the DCEU. Which this movie is not.
@@therealfireface I was kinda dissapointed. From bad cgi, underutilizing Super Girl and Zod, the soundtrack, the story. It was all kinda bordering on underwhelming.
It also didn't help that the movie was marketed as one of the superhero movies
@@M_k-zi3tn also lack of reverse flash in ant capacity was a massive disappointment
The director said the CGI was intentional because things look strange in the speed force
The CGI was quite atrocious though
Did he really learn along the way if he still moved the tomato can differently?
@@mckeoncrawford9262 I’ve been thinking about that. It feels like it wants to have its cake and eat it too
I had no problem with the Christopher Reeve CGI character.
I walked out of the theater and was blown away to find out it was 2 and a half hours that movie felt like it was 110 minutes easily
The first act felt like watching a Sami rami spiderman movie, The second act was fantastic and some of the best superhero movie moments, and the third act was damped by the cameos but still great.
Overall, I very much enjoyed the film. Yes, I have some minor issues with it (though the CGI was not a a problem for me.)
What I didn't like: 1) Young Barry's goofiness got annoying for me, and 2) I found saving falling babies a bit tonally awkward. BUT, those two things aside, I loved almost everything else:
Michael Keaton was incredible.
This film was good enough to look past the bad cgi and I just had a great time with it
That opening scene was spectacular
Sean's hour long videos are the best it's like a podcast. If you got a long drive or a workout, man, this stuff is great ! 👍
SPOILERS FROM THIS POINT ON:
I think the ending symbolizes (i read an article on this) that this version of the DCEU is truly dead and being fully rebooted. He barely had any screen time and it felt lazy to not show the other Barry’s full descent into madness (it didn’t make sense that he died at his own hands, he should have turned fully into Dark Flash and forced Barry to kill him)
To conclude, I loved this movie. It’s potentially the Last Jedi or Multiverse of Madness of DC, but this time, I’m on the side of this movie. It was so much more beautiful and compelling than those films and ranks highly among the DCEU films for me. 8.5/10
Why is no one talking about Supergirl! I thought she was brilliant. Hope they use her in future movies
Maybe. Idk how they'd fit really
I think grant gustin literally shot a scene and they cut it 💀
And also the Jay Garrick that they showed was the one for The Flash TV Show Teddy Sears
@@jaquanbeverly3948 and he wasn’t even the real jay garrick
@@jaquanbeverly3948Actually they confirmed that wasn’t him but the fake Jay Gerrick is actually Hunter Zolomon Zoom
This was the Michael Keaton Batman sequel we needed.
My problems with this movie would be the battle with Zod as it felt rather silly and anticlimactic. Zod and Faora should've done more. Also I love Supergirl but she was barely given anything at all she should've done more rather than going out the way she did.
I really enjoyed this one personally. The story was very emotional while also being entertaining. I personally did not have a problem with the cgi
Yeah me too, some of it was iffy but none of it for me was shockingly bad
The bad cgi wasn’t great with the babies thing but it made sense and I liked it with the speed force stuff
That's correct. I love how amdy and Snyder demonstarted flash's running. He doesn't run exactly. He just flow through speedforce
Everyone is different. I could see how children under 12 could get a bit confused
I agree the opening scene definitely reminded me of a justice league episode. Especially when Wonder Woman showed up.
I thought this movie slapped beginning to end with minor problems sprinkled throughout. I love how much this movie embraces the DCEU continuity
I loved this movie. The time traveling in this movie was super unique and i loved it. CGI aside (which honestly i didnt think was that bad) i think this movie was a 9.5/10. Also the movie was super funny
I thought the cgi in the time travel was an artistic choice not poor cgi Idk Didn’t bother me
But how about Zod and Faora? They were terrible. Did they bring them back or just bad face swap and CG? Those are not artistic choices.
@@brianng8350 true … I’m still ok with it 🤷♂️ didn’t ruin the movie for me
I’m just gonna put my random thoughts down here
Honestly, I did like the twist that young Barry became future Barry.
Don't think the DCEU is over. Still got blue beetle and aquaman 2
I thought it was going to be overhyped….not at all! This was the true multiverse of madness, so awesome!
Instead of CGI Christopher Reeves, they should have just brought back Brandon Reeves for that cameo.
Yep, but that was the point, whether you like it or not, the director wanted a waxy figure look to the people
I actually comply agree, the cgi never took me out the film
I totally agree with you about the cold open. I love that kind of stuff with the little stuff we get to see them stop once in a while. It’s like in injustice when we cut to the normal universe and they’re just beating up doomsday. Little side stuff is always fun.
Sean, I’m someone who has been veryyyy out on most superhero films. If there was one person this movie had to win over, it was me. And I really enjoyed it. I laughed a lot. I was bought into the story. Ezra was likable. The cameos worked for me, for the most part. The CGI was rough. Distractingly so. That said it’s still a 4/5 for me
I really enjoyed the flash and it was great seeing Michael keaton’s Batman return!
It was amazing. If your a fan of DC. You will cherish this movie. Totally broke down the 4th wall
The movie was excellent the only issue which I had was that the movie was overshadowed by the comic adaptation they missed many crucial oppurnity i think Keaton should have played Thomas Wayne and they should have included that letter scene , for me the movie was still a 9.5/10 but It was like that it still missed some crucial story points
Maybe I have this feeling because spiderverse also touched this topic of cannon events just 2 weeks ago and we saw literally the same thing again
But I still loved the movie it was a cinematic experience ,was filled with emotions the acting was amazing I think it is the best DC movie just like they all said
The scene with Christopher Reeves and Adam West made me cry. I haven’t cried in the theater since Chewbacca crying over Leila’s death.
The villain twist in this movie is basically the villain twist in Lightyear but done better
Literally just walked out of the theater and immediately came here 😎 🔥
Watched "across the spiderverse" and "the flash" back-to-back.
Just got back from seeing it. That 2nd Batman death got to me man. Also was nor expecting that George Clooney cameo at the end. WTF
One of the best comic book movies of all time
Despite the movie having some crappy CGI and some jokes went on for far too long, I really enjoyed the movie and I did get emotional at the end when Barry sees his Mom at the store.
When the Flash got flashed by Flash. That was one of the moments of all time.
Big Fan from South Africa, I watch every video 🙏🏽
If you think About it. Zach Snyders family tragedy changed the entire direction of a studio
I loved this movie despite the cgi because of the story so I would give it a 10
This was a fan, nostalgic action packed film with a great story. Haters gonna hate.
I like the look of the run 🏃♂️ in the beginning of the movie
I’ve been asking for a Savitar origin story for the show for years. Can’t believe it happened!
I loved this movie, I honestly think that this is the best DC movie ever, its so good and my jaw dropped so many times
I honestly didn't stay around for the post credit scene and after watching your video I can tell I made the right choice
I loved how they depicted speedforce
One thing I noticed is how, it seems Eobard didn’t kill Nora, or at the very least, Barry didn’t see him, but even in Justice League, I remember an article mentioning Barry telling the police about ‘The Man In Yellow’
I was expecting Matt Letscher to show up as Reverse Flash!
Would have been cool if they kept Michael Keaton a secret like they did for the wonder women cameo
It would have been funnier if the lasso just didn’t work on batfleck and he was stone cold
As a kid that watched Batman Returns at age 5, it was fucking awesome to see Micheal Keaton return as Batman!
The three best parts of The Flash -
1. The tearful scene with Barry's mom
2. MICHAEL KEATON
3. The fan service scene with all the cameos
There are problems to the movie and Tyrone Magnus points them all out.
My Favorite Cameos
1. Christopher Reeve & Helen Slater
2. George Clooney 🤣🤣🤣
3. Adam West, Burt Ward, Cesar Romero
4. George Reeves
5. Nicolas Cage
6. Gal Gadot
7. Jason Momoa
8. Temuera Morrison
The tribute to George Reeves, Christopher Reeve, and Adam West are the most touching since they all have passed away.
My Top 3 *Favorites* For 2023
1. Air
2. BlackBerry
3. The Flash
John Wick: Chapter 4 and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 🤷🏻
I'm sorta torn right now with The Flash.
Thanks Sean enjoyed your review as always
I just watched it today and quite liked it. The terrible CGI is real. A lot of it looked bad, especially during the first rescue of the babies/dog scene. That rescue scene I also thought was incredibly cringy. The ending fight sequence in the desert (until the Barrys start trying to keep fixing time) was just an uninteresting CGI fight with not that creative of action. Everything else I liked though and the emotional arc of Barry was good.
