The United Kingdom. Hi John I went to boarding school in Kurseong back in the mid 50s and started my journey in Calcutta with broad gauge steam railway then had a ferry crossing and back onto broad gauge to Siliguri where 200 students boarded the Toy Train up to our school just outside Kurseong, The journey from Cal in those days took two nights to reach Siliguri. We had our own "siding" at the school entrance where the train stopped to off load a very mischievous group of lads. I have been going back to India for my hols for about 50 years and always take the opportunity to ride the "old Toy train" when possible. When I introduce myself to the drivers and mention my old school I very often get a free ride. I am on Facebook and on the odd occasion when they discuss old school days I would very much appreciate if I may use a 30 second clip to show the Toy train in action to appreciate what a marvellous bit of British engineering still chugging along after all these years. I will of course give you credit and hopefully promote your excellent video. Thanks for bringing back fond memories with your wonderful video.
First, let me express my gratitude to you. Brilliant movie, so close to life. The engine's life. I stay in Kolkata, India, have visited this area many times. Romancing the DHR is an important purpose. Miniature Railways is my passion, I just built this one, the loco that you shot. Scale 1 : 76. Static model. All lights including boiler is operative. Wish I could email you an image of that.
Thank you sir, for your kind words. If you have access to Facebook you can send me a private message, John M Warr , and include your photograph. How about that? Thank you again. ~ JMW
Hi Very Good Vlog Wow those engine are true work horses. I was just thinking about the clean air mob they would try and have a field day out there but would be told to p### off rightly so Thanks again.
Yes indeed, King Coal rules! An Oil-burning experiment failed. Long may this splendid railway continue against the odds. ~ Thanks for your comment. JMW

@@johnmwarr I understand it failed due to the problems that the railway engineers experinced and I don't think the engines liked the idea any way
