How to EASILY beat Stormterror Dvalin in Genshin Impact - Free to Play Friendly!

- In this video, I beat Stormterror Dvalin without getting hit by it.
I have a level 60 Geo Traveler but I've toned down his gear so his stats are more along the lines of the rest of the units I'm using. Overall, this fight is not particularly difficult by any means. You just need to have enough DPS to beat the boss before all platforms have the energy fissures on them if you want to have an easier time.
MANDATORY UNITS:
None
IDEAL UNITS:
Geo Traveler (High DPS)
Chongyun (High DPS)
Diluc (High DPS)
Jean (High DPS + Passive DPS)
Fischl (Passive DPS)
Xiangling (High + Passive DPS)
AVOID THESE UNITS:
None
Take your time getting the shield down, and then go in as hard as possible during the damage phase. You will need to try and beat this boss within 4 DPS phases or you will continuously take damage from the fissures. Just remember to always migrate from the platforms early so you don't get trapped.
Dvalin is an easy fight. You fight him as part of the story but you can begin fighting him in his Domain later on as well.

So context: When you first do this fight, during the main quest, you get a free Venti...guess what I did with the free Venti.
@@Alpha.Phenix I didn't realise I could climb him. Tried too shoot him with arrows. I started playing Genshin about 2 month ago. I never watched tutorials so this boss was pain in the ass. Always ignored him because fights with him turned into constant platforming and healing. I couldn't make enough damage in time and all platform were always destroyed.

I’m playing on IPad, It’s just for me that it’s sometimes a mess when fighting that I don’t know what to do my disabled hands 🥺😩😭
I can only go up against one ruin guard, if more than one then I’m dead :) and there are quests that need you to fight more than one ruin guard QAQ
Ik this was 2 month ago and u probably already defeated him, but if you hang out on the edge of the platform, you take basically no damage. You should also try your best to keep a bow and arrow user alive for when he falls down.

An easy tip I saw: *only works for the quest* So you get Barbara and other characters, when you get there, go to the very edge of the platform (left) and keep standing there. When it gets it's claws on the platform, attack them by using Venti's bow (aiming). When the head is on the platform, attack the crystal thingy on it by using Venti's bow (aiming). When you get low health, heal yourself with Barbara and food.

I just realized if you bring geo traveler, create a pillar and get on it, you wont take damage from fissure.

so, hitting his claws makes him take more dmg?
Hitting claws is basically the only reliable way to deal damage to him as a melee unit. It's also conveniently an easy place to aim.
I had been struggling so hard with this fight, prior to this video.. Afterwards, I managed to defeat Dvalin in 1 try.. Thanks a million!!
Guess searchin for tutorials on defeatin Dvalin does pay off and also ur vids are the most helpful so far cuz u dont need to use any 5 star characters or weapons
In the quest it was almost ridiculous easy for me to defeat him, didn't need to change platforms or climb on him, just use Venti to aim from far. But when I tried to fight in without Venti I had my ass beating lol thanks for teaching how to change platforms

I didn't know the claws can be hit! I've been hitting only on the purple shard thing on his back and it took me a way longer time to kill him OTL

Please, there's at least two of us, the amount of food I've wasted reviving and healing my characters is pathetic.
Dvalin is so far the only boss I cannot fight using 10-20 levels lower characters, mainly due to the broken platform draining health rapidly. Domains and other bosses still can manage with 10-20 levels lower characters.
The main enemy is still always the poor camera angles....bosses are enough....the camera tracking is.....abysmal.

Reality: lose after having yanfei and Bennett in the team
In the end: uses qiqi, albedo, Noelle and amber (ended up being emotional support). The one who breaks his shield faster is qiqi.
Btw, my usual DPS is Albedo but he's kinda useless as my qiqi carried the team 😌👌

You're gonna get a trial venti. Try to shoot dvail every chance u get. When u can shoot the blood clot don't climb on him! It's gonna waste ur time. Instead shoot the blood clot from afar!!
so we can move to different platforms? 😂 while me on the other hand facing him head on and consumes a buffet meal of food resources. I can’t believe I won when I first encountered the dragon because I went back to try it again I just quit mid way 😅 So that’s the purpose of those platform I thought they were just props and I don’t even saw anyone did this.

any fight is possible with the default characters as long as they're not resistant to physical damage or the element that they're using. don't sleep on f2p characters, my traveler out-damages my zhongli at times
@@toufusoup really? That’s amazing honestly. Luckily, I managed to beat dvalin after all my characters died during the fight and Kaeya was almost gone lol...but this is reassuring to hear :’)
I recommend you to watch Bwaap he uses the 4 default characters so it's definitely possible to get to the end game with just those 4 characters

I see, also rolling for characters isn't necessary you should save your Primos if you don't feel like you'd use the characters from the banner

i don't think my stormterror is lvl 40 anymore e.e' it's way more difficult now...and for some reason i take damage even when trying to avoid the attacks. and while trying to avoid i take too long and rip the platforms (maybe i just need to lvl my charas and stuff but...ugh)

u can actually beat him easily if u bring xiangling and an electro character ( I used Keqing ), it took me less than 2 minutes
I spent a tense time in here with my second party who were underpowered for it at lvl 70 only to find the weekly treasure limit was reached. No rewards just a rage quit haha

The main secret is to just hangout on one side of the platform(right side most recommended) until the platforms start cracking.

Lastly at 4:04 the shield that appeared. I mean that lmao how can I get that :0? I am in this same part where I have to defeat it but I don’t have those things for my traveler.
@@starlight9447 Traveler is a unique unit that allows you to change their element and their kit whenever you resonate with the respective Statue of the Seven. If you resonate with statues of the Seven in Liyue, then you will get access to Geo Traveler, which is what I'm using in the video. Those boulders are just Geo Traveler boulders, and that shield belongs to Noelle. If you don't have access to Geo Traveler yet, then you need to go to Liyue, which can be found southwest of Mondstadt

1 month into the fight about probably 18 attempts no progress advise?
If you spend a bit of time to do domains and go around collecting ore and use the blacksmith to upgrade your weapon, you shouldn't have too bad of a time. Don't forget to upgrade your talents either.
