Perhaps you're alluding to the "dynasty" of the Legion of Boom? Not a term I ever used and no one I know ever used it. Brady was a lesson in maxing out the mental side of competition at the highest level.
Talent will get you so far... There are literally THOUSANDS of football players with far more athletic talent for the game who never won a single game in the NFL.
Thousands who never played a down.
When you arrange your mind to serve a single goal, every thought, every action is serving this goal too.
Pay cuts, ego checks (like Tom and Bills plan to coach him 'hard'), complete lifestyle adjustments with time, nutrition, training.
It was so ingrained at the end that he curbed his Mrs without missing a meeting or training session, let alone a game.
I bet the chicks he hooks up with, he only does so because of the importance of some balance/ time doing stuff like that away from football - in other words, even that is part of the plan to win Superbowls.
I hope he can find some peace in retirement. I hope we still see him around football. Turning that brain off after 20 years will be hard.

I wonder who the more demanding task master between the two was. I imagine Jordan b/c he was actually playing, was the highest paid guy in the building not named Reinsdorf, the hardest working and an absolute competitive maniac.
I see Bill being hard, but def with a softer touch compared with MJ

I'm a die hard Jets fan and Tom Brady broke my heart A LOT! But I'm big enough to admit that he's the greatest to ever put on pads. But, everyone MUST remember that he had the GREATEST head coach and phenomenal receivers and great defenses every single season he played. No 1 player wins a Super Bowl, the team wins. But I figure Tom gets the lion's share of credit : 60% Brady, 40% rest of team and coach.

I’m a Dolphins fan from NY that couldn’t stand Brady my whole life. I refused to admit anyone but Marino was the goat. Then he went to Tampa and it was over. There’s no denying he’s the GOAT. Look at New England now. Everyone thought it was Bill. Nope, it was Tom. Bill’s single best decision was leaving Tom in even after Bledsoe got healthy.

Not a pats fan but how can you argue? Brady is the greatest. Intense competitor, top tier leader, amazing teammate. How they were able to sustain that success through the roster turnover with Brady being the one constant is astounding. I don’t want to hear about cheating, every team has some form of circumventing rules. For Brady to win as much as he did in such a competitive game is absurd.

I think the whole watch thing is cool. I’ve heard stories about wealthy royalty people doing that.. I’m happy for those that get them and the gesture by the giving person. I love watches, but can’t afford the nicer ones. I really wanted to get myself “the retirement gold watch” but I got hurt at work and was medically retired so I only got half way to my goal. And with my extremely fixed income I couldn’t even afford the cheap Rolex. It’s an old tradition but I always felt I needed to reach a milestone like retiring from the military, since I dropped out of high school. I needed some sort of value and getting there would have been an extremely important and the gold Rolex with the Presidential band (no bling) would’ve been well earned. 10 years on active duty USAF 2002-12 felt like a failed at another thing regardless of my injuries, and I am less important or worthy as the person who got similar injuries, just in combat.

I’m a Packer fan and I shit on Brady and the Pats for years!…but I’ll admit he was a true locker room leader and he always took pay cuts to get Kraft to get him the right people for him to win another SB. Team before self. I had that with Brett (excluding his last 2) and if Aaron would have taken a few tips from Brady’s playbook, perhaps he would have had more than 1 SB
