That was a terrific transformation, Dan. When I saw the opening shots I thought, 'How is he going to restore this?' But what a wonderful job. Details like, sand pipes, hand-rails, sand box and brake shoes were carefully done, and should be an example to the rest of us! Thanks for this. Cheers, Jim L

    Another great repair

You've done a great job. My only suggestions would be to only use the fibreglass pencil only if absolutely necessary as it causes micro scratching to the plating. IPA is usually good enough. Also I'd use just a smear of grease as most will displace as soon as it runs anyway.
That said your repair videos are very pleasing to watch, much better than some of the bodgers on youtube.

Nice job! This is the first time I've seen one of your videos.
Honestly, if that model hit my repair bench I'd probably have dumped it in the spares box.

Not sure of this is on purpose but it just seems a lot of locos in this series are Western region that lol like they've been thrown around in a toy box haha, great work lad love it 👍

Alot of the locos i initially got for this series were GWR, but i have gathered a load of others now so have some from all regions and some diesels too. I have, at the moment enough damaged/non running loco’s for another 23 episodes.

I have successfully converted the Mainline model to DCC using a Lenz Silver 8 Pin, 4 Function Decoder ( Lenz Ref: 10331). Still deciding where to secure the chip. I have 3 options, the cab roof, on top of the motor or the side tank on the fireman's side.

Since my last comment I have replaced the Lenz chip with a LAISDCC DECODER 860021 and have secured it in the side tank. This has given me the confidence to attempt fitting a 2251 Collett goods with DCC!
