- In this video you can enjoy the cab ride - train driver's view on the Railways of North Macedonia between Veles and Bitola in 4K/60 frames per second.
The train station in Bitola was built in 1894, together with the railway from Bitola to Thessaloniki, to speed up the exchange of goods and the development of trade in this part of the Ottoman Empire. Work on the station and the railway began in 1891, and in 1894 they were completed and officially put into use. The railway connection from Thessaloniki to Bitola became an important factor in the development of the city and the region. The first railway connection in the territory of Macedonia took place in 1873 when a railway connection was established between Thessaloniki and Skopje with the “Oriental Railway”. The idea of a trans-Macedonian railway line existed since the 1850s, while in January 1859 a Memorandum was signed for the construction of a railway that would connect Thessaloniki and Bitola. The construction of the railway was a difficult task due to its hilly and mountainous configuration. Only in 1931, Bitola was connected to Prilep and Skopje by a normal gauge railway.

Before Yugoslavia war on this line ran a very long distance train, connecting Ljubljana and Bitola (departure 14.15 arrival 10.22, from Bitola departure 15.35 arrival in Ljubljana 11.35), with couchettes and sleeping cars. It ran through most of former Yugoslavia, passing Zagreb, Beograd, Nis and Skopje.
@directorient Thank you for your comment. It would be very nice to have this connection again.
Of course, thanks for the interesting and useful information.
only issue is, Slovenia doesnt have sleeping cars since ~2000 and Macedonia has put them into long-term storage... :(
@@RailRelaxation, вы же понимаете, что без возвращения Югославии это невозможно?
@@user-gl9yo8rz8k yes, I know it is difficult.
Such a big contrast between Railways in Slovenia and Macedonia, Its hard to image those 2 countries were united 30 years ago.
@ASMRDZAFIR The difference is quite big, yes.
The views truly transport you to another time and place.
@RunVirtual5 Indeed. It is very different. It is interesting to see different countries like other European countries, and Brazil for instance..the landscapes are so different.
Thank you for another lovely video.
@Mako2401 My pleasure! Enjoy!
Grazie per aver pubblicato questa linea; bella, complimenti!
Buona giornata.
Ciao.
@DavideZerillo Buona serrata.
Nice one! Really enjoyed it👍
Just one note, this is not the 411 EMU, it's the DMU version of it, class 711. Hope I helped😁
@viktormkdrailfan Thanks for the info!
Very nice video! Thank you!
@konstantinoszagkas6680 Glad you liked it!
Love Your videos!
@theovanstaden5766 Glad you like them!
The main north-south line from Nis in Serbia to the port of Thessaloniki in Greece on the Aegean coast (Corridor X) passes through Kumanovo, Skopje, Zelenikovo, Veles, Negotino, Demir Kapia, Miravtsi and Gevgelia.
Intercity trains connect Kumanovo, Skopje, Zelenikovo, Veles, Negotino ( Kavadartsi), Demir Kapia, Miravci ( Valandovo) and Gevgelia ( Bogdantsi) with Serbian Railways and Greek Railways.
Communication with the Bulgarian State Railways is carried out through Nis in Serbia and through Thessaloniki in Greece.
Intercity trains of the Kosovo Railway connect Skopje with Pristina.
In 2010, Makedonski eleznici joined Cargo 10, a joint venture with other railways in the region.
@user-sj3xz6vx3h Thanks.
- Interesting route, probably largely unknown in the rest of Europe. It's nice that there are still Old-Austrian signals and barrier drives based on type 5007 from the kkStB (Imperial-Royal Austrian State Railways). This technology is indestructible, even though it is well over 100 years old. Thanks for sharing!
@montgomeryscott1656 Thank you very much for your comment. The infrastructure really is indestructible.
always nice to watch these (:
@BlackHawkPlays1st I am glad to hear this. Enjoy the ride.
Thank you RR . 😀👍
@billy3424 Any time!
So amazing, beautiful journey
@pranowobaris94Yes it was! Thank you for your comment.

@elmarberktold852 Thanks.
Nice video
Thanks
@@RailRelaxation your welcome
good stuff, although its kind of a shame the sun set and it got dark later in the video, i hope we can have a fully daytime version of this cabview at some point.
very nice of one of the people in the comments to mention the Bitola-Ljubljana train but one thing i'd like to mention is that there used to be a cross-border local train from Bitola to Florina in Greece. maybe one day we'll see a Skopje to Florina train although the cross-border thing is a bit of a problem due to border checks, etc.
anyway i guess this is the last vid in Macedonia but im hoping to see it again sometime soon. what other countries do you think you'll visit this year and do cabviews of?
@CFRTrainSpotter Thank you for your comment. I agree with you about more cross-border trains in the area, there could be more connections. I am not sure which countries I will add this year, for sure I will go back to South America this year...I have lots of plans and wishes...
@@RailRelaxation if you do eventually go to Romania why not see some "unmolested" lines like Bacău-Bicaz or Craiova-Reşiţa? also why not other countries like BiH (Sarajevo-Doboj) or Greece (Thessaloniki-Florina)?
@@CFRTrainSpotter yes, those are a good suggestions.I will try my best to do it.
@@RailRelaxation thanks. i forgot to mention Filiaşi to Simeria though xD
do you do freight lines? cus TENT Obrenovac for instance would be cool.
Nice videos
@pranowobaris94 Thank you.

красота ))))😊
@Stas1661 Thank you.
Nice good beautiful and so cute 💕🥰🌹 i am from Pakistan 😊❤
@MaliksarmadMuneerawan-xg3ki Thank you for visiting. Greetings to Pakistan.
May I ask you what the different colors of the railway lines you shot on your map mean?
@user-sj3xz6vx3h Of course. I use different colours just to distinguish between different videos.
👍🏻
@TomRut.404 😊
1:00:35 that's 180 degree tunel, it's not a spiral tunnel. And the next one also it's not spiral, it's tunnel first with left curve, than right
@vauxhallchevette5858 Thank you.
@@RailRelaxation Because I am from Macedonia, I wish you could record another video from Veles to Bitola when it is spring, summer at daytime.
Also there is railway from Skopje to Kicevo, beautiful nature with the longest tunnel in our country, it's long 7 km.
And there is Veles-Kocani.
Can you record these ?
@@vauxhallchevette5858 Thank you for your comment. When I was in Macedonia, the lines you mentioned were not operating. I hope that I can film them in spring or in the summer.

@user-cr2wx5uz7o Thank you for your comment.
@railrelaxation. well do you like or love bathtubs or no?
@curthetherton5903 I do, but I do not understand what it has to do with these videos.
A quando le ferrovie albanesi e romene?
@user-fe5ht2mk2o I am not sure yet. I would love to do some Romanian lines...

Stantion beyond nothing
@IlyaMineev347 😊
Mich verwundert es tatsächlich, dass die Infrastruktur in Nordmazedonien anscheinend deutlich besser ist, als am restlichen Balkan. Damit hab ich nicht gerechnet
@jonny6415 It is always good to have pleasant suprisses.
Better than Albanian, Montenegrin and Bosnian (and Kosovos) infrastructure for sure but not better then lets say Bulgarian, Serbian, Greek or Croatian infrastructure
@railrelaxation. i love bathtubs. don't you?
@curthetherton5903 I can see from your comments that you love bathtubs. 😊
Plans
Corridor VIII
The railway station is part of the Transport Center of Skopje.
A project for the construction of new railway branches connecting the existing east-west line ( Belyakovtsy, Kumanovo, Skopje , Tetovo , Gostivar and Kichevo ) is at the planning stage in 2020:
The 89 km (55 mi) line in the east, from Kumanovo to the border with Bulgaria, which will connect Northern Macedonia with Varna (Bulgaria) and the Black Sea.
A 66 km long line in the west, from Kicevo to the border with Albania, which will connect Northern Macedonia with Durres (Albania ) and the Adriatic Sea.
Corridor X
The Ministry of Transport and Communications has launched studies on the renovation and reconstruction of several sections of Corridor X:
Reconstruction and reconstruction of the railway track on the 16 km (9.9 mi) section between Bitola and Kremennitsa as part of the Xd branch of Corridor X
Reconstruction of the 14-kilometer section of the railway between Kumanovo and Delyadrovtsi.
Reconstruction of the 35-kilometer section of the railway between Drachevo and Veles. Quote from wikipedia and thanks for my deleted comment.
As I see, you know very well the railways of Macedonia. So, if I may ask you: is the Bakarno Gumno-Sapotnica line still working?
@@directorient As for the Bakarno-Threshing Floor Sopotnitsa railway line, I do not know if there are any trips there, I am interested myself, all that I wrote in the two previous comments is a quote from Wikipedia.
@directorient When I was in Macedonia, I filmed all the operating lines for passenger traffic at that time. I am not sure if it is different today.
@user-sj3xz6vx3h Thank you for sharing that information with us.
@@directorient No, is not still working.
