Depends on your luck, in 0 I spent around 4 hours on it in total and in Kiwami I only spent 30 minutes on it so far and the only requirements left are mangan (4/5) and go out (7/10), it becomes easier once you get more familiar with it, but luck plays a big role also.
There's only 4 of every tile so keep that in mind. Also note the dead wall in the middle as your tile could be in there. Also keep an eye on what your opponents have discarded so you can have some idea what kind of hand they are building and ensure you don't accidentally discard the one tile they need.
For some reason this took me forever (full straight), but i got Riichi Ippatsu by accident on my first day playing. Didn't even know it was a Riichi Ippatsu until the CP requirement showed up. Thought it was the easy requirement, but it was apparently the hard one. Now im strugling getting 6 han.

DanteDevil12 well they did make it more on Yakuza 0 because you get way more money on there than any other Yakuza game. Tbh I actually liked Yakuza 0's money system the most haha
Without knowing the game at all, after playing five hours straight I was very lucky to finish every mahjong achievement and the straight hand was a nightmare to do. Four times I had all nine straight cards but couldn't complete the remaining six. Fifth time was the lucky one.
I can't say much about it, I'm on chapter 4 now, but It's very similar in terms of gameplay with the previous game, gameplay has seen a substantial improvement as well ( beast style seems very weak, though) Clearly Majima is missed as a playable character, and it's a shame he was so ridiculously cool in Yakuza 0 that it’s going to be difficult to accept what a stalker he seems to become here lol, but i like it. They added additional story scenes for Nishiki and i like it, i hope the same thing in kiwami 2 with goda, too.
Its gets more manageable once you understand. Basically everything in your deck should be a 3 number sequence, pair ,triplets or quadruplets. That's all you gotta do in any order

I was crazy lucky here, I got ippatsu 2 times in my second game, in the 3rd game I got a good hand and made it into a full straight in 2 rounds and even got ippatsu, then I used the cheat item after that in my 4th game, so I had the 100k points and haneman done, but in 2 games right after that I got around 65k points each and a haneman. Something tells me I'm about to have a streak of really bad luck right now.
Ive been playing on 0 for probably over 6 hours and the game just loves to grant ippatsus to the cpu on round 2... I learned how to play but the odds are always against you...
ehh you could check out this steam guide i pretty much learned how to play with it steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1670634257 my bulletpoints for how to play are: you win by getting 4 trios or sequences or 3, and one pair, focus only on building a hand like this (besides the full straight which would be all 9 of a single type, an extra trio and pair) just learn what each piece corresponds to number-wise, try to use dragons/winds as your pair when possible and overall look at what the oponents have discarded to not be waiting on a piece that will never arrive to your hand (has already been discarded 4 times) it can get fun once you actually learn and manage to go out that said on 0 i felt the cpus were incredibly favored by the rng for winning, i did kiwami literally 2 weeks ago and i had an easier time there, alreayd knowing how to play from the get go clearly
Greeto AGB there is this guide on yt which is over 3h long, after watching it i realized i dont need to keep in mind everything. But the most important basics are knowing the tiles and its suits, and knowing types of calls, melds, what is furiten, doras, types of waits and yakus. This is more than enough to get mahjong cp done in yakuza games.

I just recently figured out this game and came 2nd in the Ranked Mahjong 🀄 game but when i went to beginner level i came 3rd Lol. It helps knowing how to count to 10 in japanese. I just cant read the Cardinal direction pieces.

But I've since gotten much better at Mahjong and understanding your to win and why sometimes I can't win when I think I should be able to. I enjoy playing it in all the yakuza games now... but not so much in Like a Dragon (wtf, it's a modern game and they killed the background music...) Anyway, there's still a good bit of luck involved with it.

The game never tells you that shit, but that button gives you extra options on your turn. That's how you can call Riichi. If you manage to do that, you'll be on track to win. Once I read about that Square button thing online, it got much easier.
Its been 5 days straight im trying to get the straight hand trophy , I was about to get a straight hand , had an identical 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8 and another identical set and another pair ... so i was missing a 9 tile, i lost when i pressed the richie button what is it anyways ?! Each time i lose when im 1 tile away from the straight hand win when i press richie it ends up in a draw .... when i watch videos i always see people pressing the richie button when they are only 1 tile away from winning

I was about to stop playing and out of nowhere I made it. The only thing I can say is keep trying and eventually you will do it. I hope you will be lucky next try.

Man i made Yakuza Kinawi 0%-95% very easy. But the last 5% with mahjong is more difficult and takes more time than the whole 95%

The Lucky Tile I got from the coin locker gave me two CP on my first game and helped with other ones. I wish there were more.
