As a majiong player they are missing very key detail; There are three sets of 10 numbers from bamboo pancakes and the characters. The dice determines which layer of tiles we will start off from. Once you have collected the tile you then make your first move. After that regularly you take one and throw it into the pile in the middle.
Are you playing Taiwanese mahjong? Cuz Taiwanese mahjong start with 16 tiles but most variations start with 13. They are playing Hong Kong style mahjong with bamboos, characters, and circles from 1-9 with 4 sets each. And with wind and dragon tiles.
My great grandmother, aunts, and uncles would always play mahjong downstairs in the basement. Every time I visited my grandmother's house I would hear the clinking and rolling of the tiles. Then after every round, I would hear them mix them all up. I never asked them what the game was or how to play it (because I thought it was an "old people's" game), but now I know!
Basically she gave up her winning tile to Eleanor who won the game and then when she (Rachel) showed her hand, Eleanor realised that one again Rachel sacrificed for her (Eleanor's) sake

If it's confusing, just ask and I can clarify. You don't need 4 people to play every time. You can also play with three, or even two, but it's a lot more fun to play with 4. You can 'pong' anytime when someone drops a tile, but you can only 'chi' if the tile you need is dropped by the person before you. You don't roll the dice to decide who goes first (or at least, that's how I know it). You roll it to determine how many tiles you skip. When you 'gong', you put the tiles down and pick another tile from the group of tiles that you skipped at the beginning (^). When you 'chi' and 'pong', you must put the tiles down, face up. When you draw a tile and get a 'gong', you can choose to put them face up or face down when putting them down. If you 'gong' from someone else's tile, you must put it face up. There are 3 main groups of tiles and 1 group of special ones: Circles, numbers, and sticks. Then special. For the special group, it is impossible to 'chi', but it is possible to 'pong' or 'gong'. The way 'chi' works is that it needs three tiles of the same group in consecutive order. For example, you have circle 5 and circle 7. The person before you puts out a circle 6. You can 'chi' their tile, but you lose your turn to draw from the center. The little birdie is not a special tile. It may seem strange, but it's actually the 1 of the sticks group. Every time you draw a tile, 'chi', 'pong', or 'gong', you must put out one of your tiles.

There are still certain rules not explain here in 2.5 minutes. Some tiles can pick up by certain players when is discarded depend on the set and who is more authorize to pick up discarded tiles if more than one player need that same pieces. "Hi I'm winning"
I'm in the right place.
I'm here after watching two episodes of Akagi and want to get better understanding of the game. 🔥
dayummmm... my mom is such a pro in playing this 😍
and I don't even know how to play this, I'm such a disgrace whenever it's chinese nee year wth 😂
It's a nice introduction, I guess, but somebody couldn't watch just this clip and know how to play a full game. I mean, who goes first? What direction do the turns go in? How are the pieces placed and arranged in the center of the table? How's the scoring tabulated?
Why does the Mahjong tiles look so delicious?
Because you are five years old and should not be on the Internet or on your daddy's computer!
STILL little confusing for me to start playing yet always want to learn how to play it recently. so I came on RUclips to learn. May have to watch this video several more time to finally get hang of it. Thank for video.
Anyone else here after playing a bit of Judment and wanting to up your game? :D
Im over here trying to figure out how win to get pass this friendship
Exactly. I swear, Poker is downright simple in comparison.
That’s exactly why I’m here.
i just gotta learn the game so i can further enjoy rewatching akagi this time !!
South Korean: I learned, I will apply for World Cultural Heritage right away
I need this to understand Pon no Michi 🙏
How about the animals? And biting of flowers and animals? Singapore and Malaysia style include the 4 animal tiles (cat, mouse, centipede and chicken).
Ohhhhh that part............. another story
Jason Tung When u draw the animals and flowers u have to draw another card from the opposite direction of the normal place where u draw the cards
Very useful for my daily Gold Saucer grind in FFXIV
This looks like a combination of domino, sequence, and poker
Thank you. This will help me with my Yakuza game... i always loose because I don't know what i am doing.
I'm here because I'm planning to watch Akagi.
zawa
I just accidentally found my grandfather's mahjong just a while ago so here I am trying to learn how to play it so when I visit him again I can play mahjong with him.
I wish Winnie could come play mahjong on yakuza for me for this dang completion list 😂
