@@DallyASMRI mean, it was like 25 years after the events of Zero. People move on, or at least try to, from events relating to grief in their lives. Majima tried to do so by marrying Park but he just couldn't make it work. The sad part is, the exact thing he feared would happen to Makoto if he had pursued a relationship with her (A.K.A, her being put in harms way because of Majimas connection to the yakuza) happened to Park in the events of Yakuza 5. Just goes to show that Saejima was right about the Yakuza being the worst cut of meat there is. I mean, Majima literally found his soulmate and couldn't be with her because of his decision of choosing the yakuza path.

Majima is an amazing character. This song makes me cry. I love how you can see just Goro Majima and not, "The Mad Dog" when he sings this. He may be a bit crazy, but he can never fully suppress the real majima. It's heartbreaking.
What i find sad is Majima attempts to sing everything comically at first. But by the ending chorus he cant do it anymore and starts to sing perfectly. Thinking of makato forces the "mad dog" personality to drop as he cant take this song and all hes done with makoto as a joke. He wants to keep the memories as he remembers them
True i think its because he has built a persona to protect himself that makes it hit home so much. The wall he built crumbles if its Makoto and so he expresses himself in such a broken way. Plus he doesnt want to appear attractive for her.. theres alot going on.
Yakuza 0 just made this absolutely heartbreaking. Yet he's still trying to maintain the crazy facade, and the harder he tries, the more he hurts inside.
If I could shape the world In any way I wanted And if I could craft myself a harem paradise I'd let it all go, because you'd be unhappy And if I wind up on a rice cracker-like bed Resting on a pillow hard as a tombstone in a musty den out in the sticks, It's okay, as long as I know you've found happiness No matter how cruel and merciless the hell I'm thrust into is, it'll be a thousand times better than seeing you sad! If you're happy, then so am I; I don't mind! There may be sadness, and some may hate me, but bring it! If you're happy, if you're happy, it's alright! So, hey, wipe off those tears If you're happy, so am I; it's really okay! Your being sad is such a waste of your rare beauty! If you're happy, if you're happy, I really don't mind! With my everything, I'll pray and pray for you I love you, I love you I won't even say, "Please don't forget me" I love you, I love you All I want is for you to be happy into tomorrow
Why couldn't this have been tongue in cheek like the Baka Mitai songs? ;_; If it was Majima reminiscing about Kiryu or even someone like Sagawa I wouldn't have these tears right now. ):
I know it's a long shot but that's the idea of the karaoke songs. Hell, in Yakuza 5 Kiryu is reminiscing about the dog in the orphanage and Saejima about Sodachi.
I've read somewhere that the studio is considering making a Yakuza game focusing on Majima solely now that Kiryu is no longer the protagonist. They said that the reason for it is because Majima exploded in popularity after 0, Kiwami and Kiwami 2. I think that'd be a perfect way to finally give the guy some closure in his sad life.
I love how in the game version it's "I'm fine if you forget me" but in the full song he breaks into a screaming rant and basically says "PLEASE DON'T FORGET ME.... Is what I truly wanna say but forget about that"
Yakuza: Characters that actually have feelings, thoughts, pain and suffering, wish for normal lives. Shenmue: Completely dead characters and soulless world.
Actually the one who made the Yakuza franchise, was the co maker of shenmue and shenmue to be fair didn't feel dead for it's time. Like if you play the first Yakuza game, you will feel it's dead, it ain't. It's just outdated while shenmue 3 is trash that's true. It does feel soulless but not the old two games especially 2
@@omarhelmy1626 This is completely true that Yakuza is a spiritual successor to Shenmue but the thing is even with the first game it was miles beyond Shenmue.
Yarrr Mateys, I hope this song comes back in the majima pirate game. and please dont be like that majima regains his memories after seeing Makoto again, if she even comes back in game.
I think this song shows that majima seems like a completely different person but in reality, he's the exact same majima we knew in Yakuza 0. For example, he's singing in his mad dog voice whilst pictures of him as lord of the night and makoto flash on the screen.
Zotjad Yumi was only with Jingu because she couldn’t remember/ wait for Kiryuu to come back. Mirei was probably used as a quick fix up for empty Majima at the time
You're allowed to love multiple people. Heck, Majima without Mirei in his life had already reasoned that he couldn't be with Makoto. Anyway he was with Mirei sometime between 0 and Kiwami.
You're all wrong bro Mirei and majima has married when mirei about 18 years old ,and in the yakuza 5, mirei 35 old That means mirei & majima have been married before yakuza 0
wisnu pramana that’s actually wrong Mirei was born in 1974 meaning she was 10 years his junior since Majima was born in 64. She married him when she barely turned 18, so that means Majima was 28 this means they married in 1992 4 years after the events of 0.
Just started playing yakuza0 for the first time yesterday and I can say without a doubt that majima is my favourite character in any video game in a while.
... I looked up the translated lyrics to this song... I fucking wish I didn't. Reading that, knowing that Majima is singing while thinking of Makoto... That just broke me. I'd give this man a hug, chance of being stabbed or clubbed be damned.
Its one of these moments his subordinates just wonder what he is doing, but everyone is too shit your pants terrified to question why he is singing a love song and seems to be drowning in nostalgia.

Majima married and divorced an idol, yet his heart is somewhere else.
At least he knows his one true love is out there living a happy life because he fought for her.
I never really accepted him actually married to someone for a while because it just doesn't make sense after 0
@@DallyASMRI mean, it was like 25 years after the events of Zero.
Maan, I'm too lazy to make full translation, but the song's lyrics are basically saying: "I don't care if I'm dropped into hell or live through all kinds of suffering/hardship, as long as you are happy." *EDIT*: full romaji+translation below, because my fingers just moved on their own.

I finished zero a while back and listening to this made me genuinely sad. Dang.

If this song is in Pirate Yakuza they're going to animate the pictures and I'm not ready for that. 😭
He wants to keep the memories as he remembers them
Usually I'm not a fan of love stuff because there's a lot of that but I just connect with Majima. He's my man. I feel you, kyodai. 😢
True i think its because he has built a persona to protect himself that makes it hit home so much. The wall he built crumbles if its Makoto and so he expresses himself in such a broken way. Plus he doesnt want to appear attractive for her.. theres alot going on.
Please see my Majima vocal covers
It's just so haunting.
I wanna punch myself for thinking it's Father and Daughter moment. And not what it truly is.
So i realized the howls in this could be kind of interpreted as majima crying. Poor man
Yakuza 0 just made this absolutely heartbreaking. Yet he's still trying to maintain the crazy facade, and the harder he tries, the more he hurts inside.

The fact that I understood why majima left makoto was after the karaoke in kiwami 2 means that every yakuza game hides a story in the karaoke minigame
This song just hits like a damn truck. Especially the last part where Majima starts singing as just Majima and not the Mad Dog of Shimano.
The true definition of if you love her you need to let her go

Majima: 'My life is suffering'
Kiryu: YAY YAY YAY CHECK IT CHECK IT WOOOOO
Why couldn't this have been tongue in cheek like the Baka Mitai songs? ;_;
If it was Majima reminiscing about Kiryu or even someone like Sagawa I wouldn't have these tears right now. ):
Makoto Yuki Kiryu is one thing but Sagawa in Majima's thoughts is a long shot
metagross9092 Nah, he and Sagawa had a real thing going.
@@kimashitawa8113 Maybe at the end of 0 but i think he hated Sagawa for most of the game
I know it's a long shot but that's the idea of the karaoke songs. Hell, in Yakuza 5 Kiryu is reminiscing about the dog in the orphanage and Saejima about Sodachi.
That's the irony of this song choice. Majima as a comedic character gets probably the most serious song in the game besides Tonight by Kiryu.
It’s unfortunate that Majima appears less frequently as the series goes on. But the time we have with him is precious
@@theazureknight9399 Isn't in 7 Majima an one of major characters and MC party member?

Yakuza: Characters that actually have feelings, thoughts, pain and suffering, wish for normal lives.
Shenmue: Completely dead characters and soulless world.
I see
Gonna hand it to shenmue for molding the open world genre. Yakuza wouldn't exist without it after all.
@@orangeman3220 I agree but with what happened to shenmue 3, well at this point Yakuza is keeping it's old legacy alive.
The full version of this song is SIX MINUTES LONG AND EVERY SECOND IS *ASTOUNDING*

Those Makoto scenes made these extra chapters worth playing.
This is gonna be stuck in my head for weeks.
I'M NOT CRYING, YOU ARE 😭💔
that's why i think after 0 he's just acting like that to forget the pain
You can see he starts to act more reckless when Makoto is shot, that's the birth of The Mad Dog of Shimano
He went on a rampage like a madman.
But after it was done he decidet to keep it up as an act so he coud life the way he wantet to life.
This had me low key crying in silence, the voice acting is on point
This song, the feels, he even sing this song like a famous j rock star from the 80/90s
I nearly got a perfect on this, but I fudged the final press...emotional
I'm not crying you're just hallucinating and just think I'm crying tears of pure pain and sadness
Majima: literally breaks down
Mini kiryu at the end: OHH YEAHHH
This makes Yakuza 0 feel more rewarding and tearful when you play as Majima
When the cinematic started I almost cried. Majima is a shockingly good character.
Yarrr Mateys, I hope this song comes back in the majima pirate game. and please dont be like that majima regains his memories after seeing Makoto again, if she even comes back in game.
Confirmed to be coming back.
It do be back. No Get To The Top though.
You can hear Majima's pain through his batshit insane screaming
If only Majima could see the slideshow... his sanity would've returned
i love how he basically reverts back to his old self at the end instead of the "mad dog of shimano" personality or what ever
I'M NOT CRYING, YOU'RE CRYING *cries*
How can something be so funny and sad at the same time?
I think this song shows that majima seems like a completely different person but in reality, he's the exact same majima we knew in Yakuza 0. For example, he's singing in his mad dog voice whilst pictures of him as lord of the night and makoto flash on the screen.
It's sad that he still has feelings like that for Makoto at a time where he would be married to Mirei, or would have been married.
Zotjad Yumi was only with Jingu because she couldn’t remember/ wait for Kiryuu to come back. Mirei was probably used as a quick fix up for empty Majima at the time
I was always under the impression that Majima was with Mirei back before he even joined the Yakuza.
You're allowed to love multiple people. Heck, Majima without Mirei in his life had already reasoned that he couldn't be with Makoto. Anyway he was with Mirei sometime between 0 and Kiwami.
You're all wrong bro
Mirei and majima has married when mirei about 18 years old ,and in the yakuza 5, mirei 35 old
That means mirei & majima have been married before yakuza 0
wisnu pramana that’s actually wrong Mirei was born in 1974 meaning she was 10 years his junior since Majima was born in 64. She married him when she barely turned 18, so that means Majima was 28 this means they married in 1992 4 years after the events of 0.
Just started playing yakuza0 for the first time yesterday and I can say without a doubt that majima is my favourite character in any video game in a while.
This song makes a real man cry...
The sacrifices done and didn't wish to get anything in return
It's honestly incredible how this song fits majima so well
It's funny how Majima's voice actor also played as Majima in the live action version
I kind of wish that Majima would only sing this song this way when he's with people and sing the song like Yakuza 0 Majima when he's alone.
... I looked up the translated lyrics to this song... I fucking wish I didn't. Reading that, knowing that Majima is singing while thinking of Makoto...
That just broke me.
I'd give this man a hug, chance of being stabbed or clubbed be damned.
@Jimmyqballs the translated title of this song is "Wishing for your Happiness "
The worst part is...
I can see Goro doing this kind of regularly.
Its one of these moments his subordinates just wonder what he is doing, but everyone is too shit your pants terrified to question why he is singing a love song and seems to be drowning in nostalgia.
