I wuz w/ an Ex-boyfriend of mine 4 7 years. 4 years into our relationship, my Mom passed away. In the beginning, he wuz supportive & understanding, but as time went on, he started saying some very hurtful things, so much 2 the point that I had 2 get my Dad involved. We wound up breaking up after 7 years of being 2gether cuz I could not take the verbal/mental abuse anymore. Now, it has been 5 years & we have not spoken 2 each other since, but it must have been 4 the better cuz I am way better off w/o him & I WILL NEVER let another man treat me like that again!!

We all settle to some degree... Sure you shouldn't have to settle for being abused and neglected but this whole notion of never settling for anyone other than mister perfect is not rooted in reality. It's a fairy tale and causing so much unnecessary heartache. I see this mentality with so many females.

I stopped trying to please him and found my own happiness.. it really floored him when i filed for a divorce and only took a coffee table, washer and dryer, especially since we had just paid off the land and house and two nice cars one month before i left.. was it worth it? Reba I'm so sorry things didn't work out in your marriage. I think sometimes we get so wrapped up in our careers that we forget that we have a life out there. Narvel is a fool to have cheated on you but you are going to come out on top. I know it may not feel like it right now but you will see. Even if you decide not to start another relationship I think you will be just fine. You have tons of people that care about you even if you didn't have one red cent. I can say I know how you feel I was married to the person I thought I would be with for the rest of my life and after 27 years she decides she wants a divorce. I do still love her because she was the mother of my children. She did remarry after our divorce but it only lasted 3 years. I have not remarried and most likely wont because now I have found myself. I was really sick when she filed for divorce and I guess that's what hurt the most. I'm recovering and getting somewhat better as time go on. I do wish you all the happiness in the world.

Otter wise the other person won't be truthful. If you need time to deal with what you been told, take it, but don't blame the person who is giving what you been begging for. It gave me the realization that it wasn't me, like he said it was. Abusers don't stop abusing, even when they get someone new. I remember getting sent to a counselor because of this song when I was in high school. It came on the radio one day while I was doing homework and I wrote down “consider me gone” on the back of one of my assignments so I could remember the name of the song to download later. Messed around and forgot it was on the page and it was classified as a threat. Good times lol

I hear this song and think about my marriage to my high school sweetheart. We were married for 22 years! Then we divorced and annulled. He wanted me to try being a nun. So I did. I didn't date, spent a lot of time helping in my community and my parish, as well as praying several hours a day. 15 years later, I met someone else. From 2019 until 2023 we dated. Then he said he wanted to re-enlist because he thought it would help both of us financially, in the long run. Maybe it will. Maybe it won't. The guy asked me to marry him. I said yes, so I guess we're in this for the long haul. In both relationships -- when the fights, time with each other, loving each other, trying and trying are/were done, both parties in both relationships had to walk away for that breath of fresh air to take care of himself or herself (I was the her, obviously, lol) it's been about a year since my boyfriend re-enlisted in the Army. I don't want him to worry about me while he's fighting, raising money to pay my medical expenses and getting his education in police work. I still hope things work out for us to actually get married, but I don't see it happening till he slows himself down enough to smell the roses and maybe even send me a dozen of them! These emotional songs just motivate me to keep moving forward and focus on God's plan for my life, not my own plan or somebody else's plan.

I just woke up from a dream and this song was the theme. Me and my ex used to sing this together to eachother and laugh. Of course our relashionship eventuly ended since we were so young and I was so stupid. I guess all of these lyrics were always true for us but it was crazy we knew it and we would just sing this song together and laugh about it. Life is crazy and sometimes dreams will get me to be be like WTF? I feel old.

I've always loved Reba. She's a good actress. She's an amazing singer. Love all her songs. She's beautiful. And I love her red hair. Most men prefer blonds. I prefer brunettes. But I absolutely love redheads. Reba has everything going for her. Looks, talent, and, though I've never had the pleasure of meeting her in person, I'm sure she is golden on the inside, too. I remember hearing her first when I was a teen, singing, YOU LIFT ME UP, UP, UP TO HEAVEN. I don't know if that is the title of that song. But I heard it on the radio, first, when I was still a teen or young adult.
My grandmother had the pleasure of meeting her when she worked at a restaurant down South. She said her and the crew were horrible. They were loud, left a big mess and didn't leave a tip. But that was way back when Reba was probably first starting. She's probably a better person now.
I'm going through this right now. It's painful but I know that I deserve someone that treats me as "the one thing he can't stand to lose"! His loss... though I tried my hardest, it's no good when you're the only one trying! Life WILL go on!
