    Thanks a lot for this video! Very instructive, especially because you included the problem caused by the large x/y offset of the nozzle and the probe. Greetings from Switzerland.

      Yea probing finds the shape of the bed and where it is relative to the nozzle, but sometimes you still have to tune the S offset which is the nozzle relative to the probe

    Hi great video and recent, but left me slightly confused.
    In your build you showed your main board which was 4.2.2 yet the firmware you downloaded was 4.2.7 could you advise why, i thought it has to be the same as your board.
    Also with Jyers from others earlier video by others they also downloaded one of three version of the DWIN_SET display files Original, Custom and Gotcha to upload directly to the screen yo didn't do that

    • @DesktopInventions
      @DesktopInventions  2 года назад +2

      Hey thanks for the comment! Sorry for the confusion. To more clearly show the jacks I used an extra board I had around that was 4.2.2 but on the part of the video showing the bottom of the printer you can see my printer has the 4.2.7 board in it. You should download the firmware to match your board.
      As for the other files you mentioned I’m not familiar with those, I just put the single jyers firmware file onto the SD card for my printer and all of the functions have been working fine. If you find out what those other files are for I would be interested to know!

      I have not used the CR touch. If the mounting dimensions are similar it might work on this bracket otherwise would probably just need a slight adjustment.

    Hey im quite new to 3dprinting and a lot of other tutorials on installing a bltouch go through editing the code in order to make some features work, you did none of that and it still worked ? . I have a bltouch installed on my new ender 3 v2 and i dont know if its working ( i dont know wether i have manually leveled the bed very well or if the abl is compensating for the imperfections(my first layer adheres well) ( i followed all your steps like creating the mesh etc ))

    • @DesktopInventions
      @DesktopInventions  2 года назад

      Hey Max. If you install the Jyers firmware like my video you don’t have to go in and change any firmware code. It sounds like your BLTouch is working, but you could screw one of your corner screws up or down, create a new mesh, then look at the mesh values and see if the values follow the change you made. If it does then your BLTouch is working. Hope this helps!

      It seems like it should work on the Ender 3 if you have the right board and you use the V2 screen. I'm not an expert in this area, so tread with caution.

    • @DesktopInventions
      @DesktopInventions  Год назад

      The 3Dtouch has the pinouts and wire definition as the BLTouch so you can follow the tutorials for that. It's easiest to download pre-configured firmware for you printer with the BLTouch enabled. That's what I did in this video with Jyer's for the Ender3V2. Creality also supports other printer firmware on their site pre-configured for the 3DTouch/BLTouch. Hope this helps!

    • @DesktopInventions
      @DesktopInventions  6 месяцев назад +2

      CRtouch and BLtouch work with the same firmware. I'm not familiar with Creality's firmware for the CR touch but there should be options to change the offset value for the CRtouch. If not, you can always use the Jyers firmware in the video if you have the Ender 3V2.

    • @DesktopInventions
      @DesktopInventions  Год назад

      Hey sorry to hear about your problem. I would suggest the following steps: 1. make sure your Z-axis stepper motor is plugged in. 2. See if the Z-axis moves at all with the manual controls 3. make sure the BLTouch is able to reach the bed (make sure the old stop switch and other things are not in the way) 4. when you press autolevel the bed, you can touch the probe with your finger to make sure it's working and the printing head stops. Based on which step you have issues with you can find what the next step of troubleshooting. I hope this helps!

      unfortunately Jyers firmware is preconfigured for the Ender3V2. Since it has a different touch screen than the Ender 3 Pro I don't think the firmware is compatible. You can check out Rob's (3DPrintscape) website which has tons of links for preconfigured firmware for other 3D printer models such as the Ender 3 Pro.

    • @DesktopInventions
      @DesktopInventions  Год назад

      Sorry to hear you’re having issues. For bed adhesion try heating your bed to 60C and make sure your bed is very clean, clear of debris and wash it with dish soap to clear all the oils. Next watch it very close when you’re doing your first layer print and make sure it’s getting enough squish. If you’re unsure you can adjust the Z offset while it’s printing the first layer until you get a nice looking first layer.

    • @DesktopInventions
      @DesktopInventions  Год назад

      People also recommend to use hair spray, painters tape, or glue stick which does work to get your layers to stick. But personally I don’t recommend this as it tends to make a mess over time.
