    I've said it before and I'll say it again, jam first makes most sense! It's physics!! 🤣
    Also, note the presence of butter on the plate there. Seems it IS a thing to have it with a cream tea!! 🤔🤣

    If you had a jam sandwich you would spread the butter first and then the jam. Clotted cream is a dairy product similar to butter so this should go on first then the jam.
    The Royal family are too involved with the Duchy of Cornwall to do the correct thing.

  • @apples37
    @apples37 28 дней назад +1

    Traditionally it is important that the scones be warm (ideally, freshly baked), and that clotted (rather than whipped) cream and strawberry jam, rather than any other variety, be used. Butter is generally not included, and some sources advise that the tea should not be served with milk.... But for me bring it on any way you like, I am sure I will manage to devour it. esspecialy if the captain is buying.

  • @fuzzy-daddy83
    @fuzzy-daddy83 29 дней назад +1

    Ok science time (and having a Cornish Mum and a very Cornish Grandma). Traditionally the scone (pronounced SC-OWN) is served warm, and the jam first method was to stop the cream from melting into a runny mess, it was a barrier. Not an issue now as I have yet to have a cream tea with a warm scone in decades.

    • @SolentShips
