@@deecee3174 We know that other ppl CAN do it, other than Asian immigrants. But its not always easy to find any nail salons other than those owned by Asians. The non-Asian nail techs Ive seen in my area on IG are all operating from their homes not salons. As many Black women as there are who wear acrylic nails, we should be a dominant group of ppl able to DO nails professionally.

I’ve always been into beauty (hair, nails, makeup) but one day when I was a stay at home mom, I was like “I want my nails done but I don’t want to spend money to keep it up”, so I started doing my own nails.... I hopped on RUclips watched a random video and there it started. Fast forward when I really started getting into makeup, one of your videos pops up on my timeline and you honestly awakened a passion for me wanting to do others nails. Now, I’m enrolling in school for cosmetology and can’t wait to be out here slaying the world. Your work is AMAZING and I love your videos.

For the past 4 months I have been thinking about picking up nails as an additional hobby that I can make money from (I do makeup). I’ve studied videos and techniques, I’ve got commitments from friends an family as practice for when I do begin, I’ve watched every one of your videos from like the past year... but for some reason I felt that I didn’t know where to start, if I ever began to feel ready enough. At one point I had a Mia Secret Starter kit in my amazon cart for about a week, debating if using that much of my check was worth it. Being in school, working, and having a part time job, I began to fear I wouldn’t be able to start up and be successful. Scared of failure, wasting money, and my own time, I just decided to play it safe and give up the idea of ever becoming a Nail Tech.
This video has re-inspired me.. I can do what I put my mind to. Thank you for these wonderful tips.

I'm a FULL FLEDGED INTROVERT! I'm married, I don't go out, unless to grocery shop or run errands. I don't have friends. I pretty much read, write, study and practice my craft and watch tv...lol. I have a full clientele. I keep everything professional. I have learned to listen and ask questions. It keeps the clients talking and I NEVER have to talk about myself. They never notice. They come here to vent and rant. I do not judge, offer my opinion (unless asked), I allow my clients to feel comfortable and accepted. I charge my worth. Nothing is too personal, ghetto, or inappropriate. I only accept cash or transfers through Zelle. I have no social media! All of my clients are word of mouth!!!! I'm 34.
Definitely utilize social media if you're comfortable to grow your business. Good luck. You can do this!!!!

This was very helpful. I intend to get my license. I got most stuff since I took a certification, but my goal is my license. It is true, one start from the bottom. It is very ideal and takes a lot of patience. There is a saying,"good things come to those who wait".

Thanks girl! Definitely needed to hear this coz I definitely thought you had to have the top brand polishes for your work to be good. Iv had to finish up work due to health problems so instead of staying home doing nothing and becoming depressed, I decided to start a new hobbie doing press on nails. So I enjoy watching all your videos. Hope you and your family are well with the lock down bizzo. Sending love and respect from New zealand 💕

Thank you soo soo much for this video. I'm a diy for nails but my passion is cosmetology I also went to cosmetology threw school years ago. This is very informative and you've answered all my questions that I had. I don't feel so overwhelmed or anxious about really wanting to start a home base business after I take cosmetology class this year.

I live in Atlanta, and I naturally really good at nails. People been telling me for years you should charge to do people nails but never did. Girls here pay 75-250 for nails here so i think it might be time to take this seriously thank you for making this video.

had a quick question for anyone who see's this. If you wanted to start a nail business at home, but it wasn't official (doing nails for people you know like friends and family) would you need a license and and to go through all of the legal issues? Also, what would you say that you need materials wise to start? Thank you so much for this, it helped so much and I'm hoping I can start a business in the future.💕

you are so right, most of the things i got to get me started was because of you, however, i am a mother of 2 and have also been cheap so i did use alternatives. I use the glam and glitz system and i absolutely love it, it’s super easy for me to use and dries fast- exactly what you said in your review vid
