Honestly, the "dont share your goals before exicuting" is TOO REAL. tbh it's probably best not to tell a lot of ppl just in case someone steals your ideas.

I totally feel the same way about not telling anyone. It’s so important not to put extra pressure on yourself and just do it for you.
I learned about keeping our goals to ourselves when I was learning about self improvement. It’s been scientifically proven that if we don’t share our goals, we’ll actually reach them. Sharing with 1-2 close ppl is generally ok. I’m glad you touched on this topic. Iv only told two ppl for my small business endeavor. Still haven’t revealed the name to them,as I get the legal stuff secured.
This is one of the channels that gave me the courage to start my RUclips channel 6 months ago about self development. Now I have 351 subs and > 100 hours of watch time. I know it’s not comparable with others but I’m still proud I started because I’ve been learning so many lessons that I couldn’t have learned without getting started in the 1st place.

And your tip on consistency, despite me hating instagram, was really sound i need to reactivate my IG and post consistently but put more effort on YT since I seem to enjoy that more! This was a super insightful video! I'm a uni student too and well I just restarted my goal of creating a small buisness, and the things you said really shed a light on thoughts I've been having about it. I've went through a lot of what you've talked about, the burnouts, the constant need for time, missing deadlines (it was a doozy).
Now I'm going to try again but this time with a little more insight and a whole lot of help from people who've created successful businesses which I do believe you are one of them!

I love this, I'm currently on a journey to pivot from a product business to a service business. Sometimes I think about putting up a product business but regardless of what kind of business you put up, the same emotions apply.
I also love that you were very open about your inconsistent motivation despite the number of followers you have. It's easy to assume that people like you who are ahead of the average people have it all figured out. But hearing that consistency is still the key that will drive your business to success is reassuring, especially for someone like me who's somewhat starting from scratch again.
This is very helpful and informative! 😊 Especially for me who tend to overthink so much. I use to procrastinate so much though ideas keep running through my head. With this video I learned how to stop over thinking and to be more consistent in creating and posting. Thank you so much for reminding me of deadlines and my personal goals. 😊

I really love your idea about setting a hard deadline for when to actually go live with your small business in whatever format it may be. I am currently in the ideation phase and totally get what you mean about seeing how I could stay stuck here forever. And it really motivates you to get focused and narrow down your options so that you can actually have something tangible to move forward with. Definitely going to take that advice!

I am also thinking of starting a YT to record my journey and you have inspired me and encourage to do it despite all my thoughts of feeling not good enough, or can't keep it to post once a week. Just get started is KEY. I completely agree. Still beneficial to gather info to learn from other’s journeys and mistakes but 300% learning from your own mistakes is crucial. This applies to creating, marketing, etc. each personal failure is essential. Having the motivation to overcome failure is priceless & only learned through action. So happy someone said this bc I’ve watched countless videos and rarely have I heard “just do it”

I agree as well about sharing with friends and family. It leaves you feeling stuck. It makes friends and family feel pressured and when nobody buys you feel like nobody else will. I never liked that advice and ignored it thankfully.

The part about not sharing your goals with people you know is so real. I’m 2 and a half years into my business and still hardly any of my friends support me
so sad but true... people tend to either become envious or they expect your products for free. only those who went through the hassle of starting their own business know how much that initial support means, both moral and financial. good luck with your work!

I've been a content creator in the doll collecting niche for 7 years. A popular business venture many people in my niche get into is sewing doll clothing (trendier and more mature pieces than what you can find in stores). I got into sewing over the pandemic and started an etsy shop. I went on a hiatus because I was too stressed about every tiny detail of my products but I've recently restarted my shop. I agree that having a RUclips channel helps you connect with your consumer much more than Instagram does, but sharing my photography on my instagram allows me to showcase my products more. I chose Etsy to sell on because despite the fees, it is the dominant marketplace for my niche, and my audience is already familiar with it. So many small business videos I see on RUclips are for sticker shops. I'm so impressed at how artistically talented everyone is and how many orders they pack! But as someone in a niche where every product is handmade and can't be outsourced, it's a lot more tedious and demanding to run a shop. 600$ is amazing for your first release! Keep up the good work!

I’ve been casually selling my natural skincare products at a local farm stand for the last few months, but I really want to get serious about it now that I’m pausing my college classes. With a toddler though, and another baby on the way, I am sure it won’t come to fruition for at least another year.
I really enjoyed this video, and it was very helpful! The tip about setting a hard deadline is perfect for me. I have always procrastinated for schoolwork, and sometimes for a business it can be the same way. Deadlines help light a fire under my butt and get me actually doing what I need to do.

Exactly. You should never share your goals with others. Its best to keep it to yourself and work in it in silence. Because different opinions can let you down... not just that but work in being alone is the best way to go

This is a bit of a relief I must say! And you’re absolutely spot on, on some points. I’ve started my online business in late October this year and was hoping I’d have atleast a couple of sales by now, but no…. Zero! I’m a fashion designer, got my own website and marketing my self on instagram. The main issue that I’ve done is mainly get into the slow fashion luxury business. Sounds great. But sadly creativity doesn’t sell, if the price is too high! it’s always been a dream of mine to sell high quality garments, which my products are. It simply won’t sell! No matter how appealing it is to people. And because of the nature of the fabrics that I buy, I simply can’t just drop my prices. If I’d start all over again. I’d probably buy less affordable materials and go from there, cuz although I’ve just started out. You need a really good budget for runways, popups, marketing in order to sell yourself as a luxury brand. And as someone who’s starting out and already spent way too much on products and materials. It’s very difficult….

I like how precise and detailed you are. Hope for more videos and other stuff you're going to have. We never know, i might be starting the same this coming class. Im also a sophomore in college and ive been thinking of what to sell at my aunt's store. Because of covid, i sell face masks and it was selling fast especially when the class was face to face. And after one year when it all got better, im thinking of earning little ice candy for the summer weather, despite in August - it still feels summer from the heat every day 😂
