This train passed by my house this morning. Between Watsessing Avenue and Newark Broad Street. Between 10:01am and 10:08am. I saw it. I had no idea that Fan Railer was on it.
That's quite the rotation, where it goes from Hackettstown all the way to the PVL. Also, train 1074 is a lot like train 62 on the Port Jervis Line, being a mid day train that makes every stop, rather than going express after a certain point.
This is Awsome! Also, #1! I recently got on the NJT for the first time, btw!

Tyrell Hall the locomotives are there because the cab cars are getting new computers installed that are compatible with Positive Train Control

Does that particular train set model not have the automated announcements typical of NJT trains?
The Highrise Elevator Lover!!!! An NJT crew would know while I am not sure, but the automated announcements I think are controlled from the cab car, which this train does not have.
You're correct. An equipped cab car must be in the consist for the automated announcements to work on the train.
