This was the first HP movie that I didn't see in the cinema, and I was glad I didn't. The second one was already quite horrible to sit through, this one took me 2 evenings to watch and I still have no idea what happened. It was horribly slow, showed 4 new animals which I believe were never mentioned before, and just didn't make any sense. I'd much rather watch a Fantastic Beasts documentary with David Attenborough-style narration, and a separate Grindewald backstory. This series is an unnecessary abomination
the movie would have been improved by 1000% if Dumbledore and Grindelwald then started into an elaborate dance number with multiple costume changes and fluttering flower petals for no reason whatsoever.
Lol just scrap the plans for the last two films and make a film about newt going around the magical world helping and studying creatures like wild kratts or something. I’d watch that in a heartbeat
Or just release that unedited 3 hour cut of Order of the Phoenix we know it exists because it was accidentally shown in a couple of theaters to audiences instead of the Theatrical final cut
I really enjoyed the first Fantastic Beasts. I thought it was a fun movie that's actually about Fantastic Beasts, and I thought it was cool how we got to see the world in a historical setting from these characters' viewpoints outside of Hogwarts. I really liked the characters and story it told. The second was good enough imo. And the third was disappointing.
@A Catalan Liam No, they have a mind of their own. 🙄 The 2nd movie just had the wrong title. Everyone thinks it's just supposed to be some whimsical fairytale, like Harry Potter wasn't about war. It was enjoyable to us. ☺️
I love to see eddie redmayne's face expression in this movie. It conveys a lot without putting many words. He seems very joyful when someone mention Tina. Also he is worried when his assistant takes his magic briefcase away. His expression beside mama Qilin and his interaction with Tina at the end are the best i think. The baby Qilin should bow to him because of how pure his heart is.
If the fantastic beasts author guy was so fundamentally important to the wizarding world, why is he only referenced by a book he wrote. The creators took a cool story idea and high jacked it so they can make more movies rather than a fun or a good story.

Professor Dumbeldore enjoys chamber music and ten-pin bowling.” So no you’re absolutely wrong
This series should have been a fun adventure focusing on mythical creatures conservation. Finding and saving all of these beautiful magical beings from extinction and poaching. Could have had them saving animals from muggle or goblin hunters. Travelling around the world saving and releasing animals. Showing is more of the magical world. How hard was it to make it about Newt Scamandrer moving around looking for creatures, all the while sometimes walking into Dumbledore and Grindewald's messy breakup/war, and not make it any deeper than that? Why make the whole thing so grim?
I'm not seeing/hearing anyone talking about the fact that there is only one magizoologist (ever?). Think about what that means for a society that can LITERALLY get almost anything they want with a flick of the wrist. Nobody but Newt cried over the two dead Asian mythic creatures. The remaining 99.9999% of the wizarding world cares zero about creatures other than themselves. Looking back, that theme has been present the whole time but became prominent with the Fantastic Beast series.
Jude Law’s Dumbledore and Ewan MacGregor’s Obi-Wan need to duel with their glowsticks. “You flicked too hard!” takes on a whole new moaning…erm, meaning.

All i remember of the crimes of Grindelwald is that he warned the magicals of WW2, which is a bad thing apparently?
I remember a lot from the first movie but the second one to me is just Grindewald escaping prison in a chariot in the sky and jumps to Queenie going to the “dark” side. That’s it. It’s so over the place you can’t remember the plot

My favorite joke in the movie was Jacob showing off the wand to the Hogwarts kids.
"I got it for Christmas."
The crab scene actually had me laughing uncontrollably. It also felt extremely out of place in the movie. I would have preferred more of *that*.
The fact that scene seems to be the highlight of the entire film is depressing.

I'm surprised that you guys didnt mention that Dumbledores plan to confuse Grindelwald, was the same plan from rick and Morty. But it actually made more sense in Rick and Morty
Yeah, cause rich and Morty is a comedy and thus was trying to be a "super serious" movie
I'm surprised they didn't bring up that Grindlewald and Dumbledore's love was barely even addressed, so much that it was removed completely from the chinese release.
I think the fact that China's a majorly homophobic dictatorship is why it was cut out over there.
Well it sucks but the alternative would be to leave out the biggest movie market.
@@Guckkasten85 The point I was making was that them being love was so pointless that it could be removed and the story is unchanged.

This movie was a version of Bollywood movies. Touching each other's hearts and feeling the heartbeats in the middle of a fight? What?!

Magical creatures have been murdered in the last 2 films!!!! Enough!!!!
The 2nd movie just had the wrong title.
"The fact that everything didn't go precisely to plan was precisely the plan" I can't believe this line is in the movie. It's the official WB motto!
If the fantastic beasts author guy was so fundamentally important to the wizarding world, why is he only referenced by a book he wrote. The creators took a cool story idea and high jacked it so they can make more movies rather than a fun or a good story.
Dude you just described about half the movies at Hollywood

The one thing I wanted to see though was real dangerous witch hunters. Individuals who have found ways to negate magic, and hunt down witches and wizards. To have a scene where some ministry cop pulls out a wand on a witch hunter and it simply sputters and to have the witch hunter smile and shoot him. It would have created an interesting dynamic in how Grindlewald could use them to help drum up support for his crusade.

Yeah the best part of the movie was definitely watching Newt interact with the beasts. Long live the crab people!
Dumbledore should have been the “noble of heart” instead of the “pure of heart”. He has this dark desire but he just chooses not to pursue it because he respects and values those who are weaker then him. He should be “noble” instead of “pure”
How hard was it to make it about Newt Scamandrer moving around looking for creatures, all the while sometimes walking into Dumbledore and Grindewald's messy breakup/war, and not make it any deeper than that?
Why make the whole thing so grim?
These movies definitely should have just ended after the first one
I'm not seeing/hearing anyone talking about the fact that there is only one magizoologist (ever?). Think about what that means for a society that can LITERALLY get almost anything they want with a flick of the wrist. Nobody but Newt cried over the two dead Asian mythic creatures. The remaining 99.9999% of the wizarding world cares zero about creatures other than themselves. Looking back, that theme has been present the whole time but became prominent with the Fantastic Beast series.
I found that hard to swallow. For the magical communities to stay secret they would HAVE to understand magical creatures in order to hide them.
Jude Law’s Dumbledore and Ewan MacGregor’s Obi-Wan need to duel with their glowsticks.
“You flicked too hard!” takes on a whole new moaning…erm, meaning.
