Some make sense to, some are more difficult. Like this one you can see up to a 25 hp gain, but it's hard to show in a video. So, instead, I'm going to take my car to the track, so people can see what quarter mile times to expect with an intercooler, JB4, etc..
Need to see results of the ER FMIC Install.. Pros Cons etc.. This is a VERY large IC, great temps sure, but i'm concerned with how the overall performance was affected.
Thanks for the walkthrough the plastic clip on the stock pipe side was a bittt%^%hh. A hooked pick tool did help when pulling off each side for anyone attempting to install
If you can't get the plastic charge pipe out enough from the top, wedge a long screwdriver against the accordion part of the charge pipe from above, then pry it upwards with leverage while pulling the chargepipe up. Thought it was impossible to get the pipe removed before this.
So I'm thinking of buying an f80 style front bumper on my f30 and I'm going to try and install it myself. will I have to also remove that plastic that you remove around 5:25 ?
www.proautomotion.com/shop/bmw-f30-3-series-m3-style-front-bumper-conversion/ you need something like this.. the f80 bumper won’t fit, but these are made for the f30
Question...Did you have to reinstall that crazy plastic fastener on the turbo side when you put everything back together after the new FMIC was installed or can you throw it out with a new FMIC?
BMW just can't use normal bead style to hose clamps like every other boosted car.....instead they pick a groove type tab with the c-clips. I honestly feel like the whole system doesn't do a full "zero air" lock. Feels and looks like there's air gaps, thus when you are under boost, there's leaks on the connections. Just my thoughts, it just doesn't seem sturdy for a tight air seal when I did mine awhile back.
Kies Motorsports yeah, I know what rubber seals you are talking about. When I am under boost, I swear I can hear boost leak not hitting target boost. I think if I go with a bigger turbo setup in the future, I will definitely make sure I use the bead type with couplers using the hose clamps.

Great detailed video as always. After driving with the new intercooler, did you notice the difference in power? How long did it take you to do this job?
Nice video helped a ton except for me I’m taking the er intercooler off then putting the stock one back on. I’m having no luck getting the pipes to stick on the turbo side does the plastic clip go on after you connect the pipes or before
No brand does. I've done all of this. VRSF 5 or 6.5(I own the 6.5), or any other doesn't require the front coming off or that plastic housing off. Maybe the ER 7in does, but I mean who the hell needs that much FMIC.
@@santanalz I just ordered a VRSF 6.5 for my F22. So you were able to squeeze it in without taking the bumper off? Did you do it by yourself or have help? And you kept the plastic housing/shroud? Thanks!
Im looking at getting a Dinan intercooler. Did you put all those plastic pieces that were in the front back in? (the ones behind the blue bumper) or did some have to come out to fit the evolution racewerks intercooler? thanks, great video Bryan!
Just installed the ER catless DP and JB4 on my 435 last weekend. Looking to do Charge Pipe and Intercooler Next. Question: How bad is the lag with this intercooler? I Wish you would go out for test drives after these mod install videos =[
Hi, it's up to about 25, but this is one of those modifications that plays off other modifications on your car, so the more you do, the more you'll gain
Hey Bryan, did you notice any loss of power after installing the intercooler? I was told that there will be loss of psi due to larger size of intercooler.
This is not a loss of power but a turbo lag? a longer engine reaction time which may surprise. On the other hand for the installation of the intercooler, I am surprised, normally we do not need to dismantle the bumper, finally on the diesels not need ...
Brian, sorry for the off topic question but I have an F22 M235i with the N55. I have read mixed reviews regarding intakes for this motor and check engine lights. Any thoughts? Obviously you run am aftermarket one...Berger?
Ari Georgitsis assuming you’re running a tune like a JB4, you can just unplug the MAF sensor, as the T Map sensor receives the signal prior to the MAF and is going to be a lot more accurate in regards to afr and intake. Its actually advised to unplug the MAF if you’re running Jb4 anyways, as its known to cause a lot of idle and hesitation issues. Of course, you’ll still see a check engine light, but if it bothers you that much maybe consider a drop in filter...aftermarket intakes are the lowest performance to dollar value mod ever imho.
The Site says: "Ease of Installation: (1 Easy, 5 Hard) 1" Really? Looking at your vid, it was more like a pain in the you know what to install. More like a 20!!!
M3 is a much stiffer and harsher ride to daily drive, 335i is a great DD , More reliable, Cheaper on Gas , insurance, Maintenance. I'm building my 2013 335i m sport, Got a Jb4, Catless DP, and vsrf Charge Pipe, Like the vids keep up the good work!
Somebody : Can you install some peformance Front Mount Intercoolers on random Parking lot under the sunlight?
Kies Motorsports: *Hold my beer!*
Lol
Why don't you do a drive after the install in every engine related mod video?

Up to 25 is what ER says. If you go big turbo, you’ll get the max benefits

@@KiesMotorsports do you see any temp differences under load? Is power more consistent?
That´s a comprehensive and well done DIY video, keep on doing more like this!!
I have saved a playlist of your videos and Soon when i get my 335i every mod u you added im gonna add to thanks for providing these videos man 💯
Nicely explained, cant wait to get a 335i.

Keep an eye out 😀

You could al aye get the other style and put it on top for super leak protection 😀👍🏼
How long would you say it took you to install the intercooler?
Did you have to trim anything?
You don’t need to re-use the OEM parts from the original intercooler when installing the aftermarket?
great videos would be nice to have a turbo to intercooler pipe and a diverter valve upgrade install. keep it up
Great detailed video as always. After driving with the new intercooler, did you notice the difference in power? How long did it take you to do this job?
great video thanks
What's consumption after change? Just curious :) you know, it's 2021 :D
What happens if those black retaining clips aren’t reinstalled? I couldn’t get the charge pipe side back on? Any tips?
Is the belly pan really necessary or is it jyst for aerodynamics
It helps with airflow around the engine
what kind of modifications would be necessary for this to fit an F25?
Keep that air cool!! Great job as always
Trying to keep the air as cool as you 😎
Would the install be almost the same for my
2016 F32 N55 435i x?
Nice video helped a ton except for me I’m taking the er intercooler off then putting the stock one back on. I’m having no luck getting the pipes to stick on the turbo side does the plastic clip go on after you connect the pipes or before
After you take the plastic clip off, you don't install it on the new intercooler
Will this pass a smog test?
Is there one for 328i?
JB4 also has a hidden secret option for better cooling
Now if you could do a downpipe install guide, I be set! I would even bring my car to you to install if you make video lol
lol, stay tuned...
With the Wagner evo 1 and 2 the bumper does not have to go down

how come you do your mods in what seems to be a public parkingspace instead of your own driveway? have i missed something in previous vids?

I understand lower temp on air going the intake... what about changes on engine temp cause it cover more of the intercooler?
There are a lot of factors in there. The big benefit is colder air, more oxygen, more fuel, more power.. So, some of that could depend on your tune
Kies Motorsports i mean it cover more of the radiator?
nah, it's okay, the air goes through it, so you'll be fine
Why can’t you go back to 328i man ! /:

Why don't u buy m3 seriously
