Kelly and Kevin are both Big Time Artists. I saw Kevin at a Montessori benefit in Nashville. I sat down and I realized that Matraca Berg was sitting next to me as we listened to a Don Schlitz set. I also remember looking at black drum cases with Harry Stinson's name on them.
The AMAZING Kelly Willis. No matter who she sings with you can count she is going to make it better. And she sings with many talented people. Underrated is an understatement.
sadly some of the best artists don't get the recognition and acclaim lesser talents get, Earl Thomas Conley and Mel Street had this problem too, both were outstanding
Kelly still sells out shows in TX quite often, she doesn't have massive crowds, but she has a very loyal and solid fanbase, I have seen her for 30 yrs. and this is quite a feat, all her albums are great, and so glad she is still touring
Yes indeed David, Kelly Willis is so very pure in her vocals, she just sings...no big runs, she don't need them!!!! She is always natural in music and in herself!!! She don't GLAM up with make-up...again she don't need to!!!! Most under rated country singer BY FAR!!!! Love you Kelly....have for years!!!!🌹And Kevin Welch is great too!!!

Been listening and seeing this lovely lady perform for close to 30 years now. Whenever she played the free concerts on Wednesday in Austin it was packed!
I was planning to go see her perform in Amsterdam almost 30 years ago, unfortunately the concert was canceled. I still have to finally see her live for the first time, but there's this ocean between us...
Wow, Thanks so much for this! I was so in love with Kelly and still am. After Lari White Kelly was probably my favorite female country singer of the 90's. Neither got anywhere near the push or respect that they justly deserved. I still believe that both could have been Mega Superstars. I remember watching and recording this when it originally aired. I already had the CD, but I had hoped to see them preform it live. This is such a fabulous song, and they wrote it together. Just an amazing performance. Was this on the Texas Connection? Wasn't that the name of the program? MCA really goofed not putting the song out as a single. That whole album was loaded with amazing songs and they chose a couple remakes as singles. It was so frustrating. I remember hearing Kelly preform "Get Real" on the late show and that and several others would have made much better choices as singles and videos. It was like MCA had no idea how to market her whatsoever.

As I write, there is a used copy on Amazon for £1-44p + £1-26p post & packaging. I have recently found that used CD's & books are in good condition & are fantastic value. I have not had s problem with any of them & I have been buying a shed load of them recently. Obviously the postage & packaging in the USA will be different & you need to convert pounds into dollars. Kelly did make it, she is still working, she just didn't break out on radio or sell many albums, so the label dropped her
