    Kevin learned this from his band mate in the band Blue Rose Cafe out of Norman OK, Pat Long. He absolutely slays it.

    John recorded this track on his 'Dirty Jeans and Mudslide Hymns' album in 2011.
    I prefer Kevin's version.
    I saw him do this song in a pub in Preston in the late 90's. It was one of the highlights of my concert going times.
    He had just set up his own record label with Kieran O'Kane. I believe it was called Dead Reckoning Records.
    He was backed by Fats Caplin, a multi instrumentalist who had worked with Tom Russell.

      I was at the gig in Preston. It was wonderful. Kevin Welch is a big part of how I got to know my wife. We moved to CO in '97 and then down here to AL in 2000

    I would love to hear Kevin sing and play this great song with Fats playing the accordion. I think it would be better that when he plays the fiddle on it. This song was really made for Cajun Blues Accordion accompaniment.
