- I added Interstellar music to the coolest scene in Topgun: Maverick. I also added lens dirt and recreated the ultra wide effect, de saturated it, etc, just to hopefully make it more cinematic, I know it makes it "less real" but in my opinion it just looks so much cooler.

"aesthetic" and "atmosphere" are overlapping descriptors, you would normally use one or the other
what happend to making backroom videos?
im still doing that. im just not doing that stupid Kane pixels version of it, and because of that it requires actual effort, so it takes a really long time to make.
If it wasn't the plane, but the pilot, then why didn't Maverick just fly the F-86 Sabre?
if you watched the movie, they either crashed or got shutdown (I forget) they ejected, and stole an F-14 from the enemy base.
edit: ok i misunderstood what you asked; let me re answer this.
using an f-86 sabre would make this mission thousands of times harder and deadlier, as such it would be very, very dumb to use it in this specific battle.
The F-86 does not have flares. That should tell you all, even with Mav at the controls. .... But then Mav would have found a way, because he always does.
