I was a mechanic for London Transport Buses back in the seventies working on Leyland, AEC, Gardner Diesel engines, etc. If an engine in them days had decent compression and adequate fuel, it would start and run. Simple. ‘Emissions, What were they?. What you have to deal with nowadays is a different world and as well as getting your hands dirty in all weathers, you need to be a computer wizard as well. You’ve obviously studied your craft and create fascinating videos. Good luck to you my friend and keep up the good work. I wish you all the success with your business. Gerry.
Now that’s what I call a proper mechanic not scared of getting his hands dirty and finding the root cause credit to you pal 👍👍👍👍
Hi Jimmy another informative video. People don't understand how hard it is working on vehicles in a non w/shop environment i.e no hoists , out in weather . equipment getting wet , you getting wet and yet you seem to fix 99% of the problems that workshops can't fix. So bravo Sir well done. Thanks as always.
Thank you
Not two many would have found this fault great work.
Thanks
Always impressed at your diagnostic skills.
I wish more mechanics understood cars and engines like you do!
Thank you very much!
Great diagnosis
Finding evidence that leeds you to the fault...love it
I worked for a Toyota dealer here in Brisbane, snd we were changing DPF's under warranty
I always said that the dpf wasn't the problem. It was more a software issue and the 5th injector blocking up
Eventually there was a new modified dpf, software upgrade and a new 5th injector that resolved the Hilux, pardo smoking issue
Jimmy man you're working tooo dam hard, get yourself a holiday booked, you've certainly earned it👍
Total respect for your work, At this rate you will need to expand your business. Good tradesmen are hard to find these days.
Hundreds of pounds later
A new dpf
New vaporizers
And all it took was a man with brains and click of a loose connector
Well done jimmy 👍👍👏👏
Hi mate you need a slide out awning to take cover from rain etc and you you are good at wot you do from an old school mechanic 😂😂🤣😂😁
Thanks for the tip
Then you can chase it down the road when the wind picks up.
I had a small one for working on my cars on my drive, they're a bloody nuisance.
By god I hope you pass that knowledge on to Some young fellows or 👧or
Family love your dedication to finding the real problems.people like you are hard to find in that industry, well done from Dublin 👍🏻🙏🏻
I'm addicted to this channel, great work Jimmy
Yes as well , as Jimmy said and I find myself in the dilemma of dealing with filter removal, cleanings, sensors for the last 16months. No use of vehicle.
All it needed was a good study of the codes and live data, all that time and money wasted! A decade box is about 20 quid and would have tested wiring integrity for that sensor, nevertheless you were the one that cracked it. Great work from the DPF master😊 look forward to the next one
Had a similar fault with my boxer, basically the plug for the wiring loom to the vaporiser next to the fuse box was dodgy, one of the pins that fed to the vaporiser pump was all furred up and caused the pump to not work.
Wow can't believe someone fails to push the plug on properly which cost that poor fellow a small fortune. I wish you lived near me boy oh boy do I
"Diagnose O'Rileys" what a brilliant video
Well done, another great detective story.
Definitely Professional Fixer.
Thanks again!
Jimmy, top work, i love to see the analysis and diagnoses… incredible work out in the rain etc..
Much appreciated!
Brilliant.. Very interesting when it's not straight forward. Bet that man could have given u a kiss😂
Brilliant Jimmy, expertise and patience. All that is hard enough out on the street and under the elements but filming it as well? 👏👏👏
Well done 👏 for persevering , nice relief to get to the bottom of the problem in the rain too ..
Top job Jimmy 👊👊👊
That was a great video off you jimmy . More problems and more info to take in . Brill
Lesson learnt make sure everything is plugged in properly if someone else has messed with the car/van before you
You're never beat ...Jimmy you always figure it out ...
You earned your money on this job.
Good to watch,Great job!!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Well done Jimmy you stuck with it great find ☘️💚🥃👍
Thanks 👍
Job well done again 👍👍👍👍
Thanks again!
Amazing troubleshooting 👍🙂
Thanks 👍
Another great video amazing how many problems other people cause …. I’ve had it before on mk7 transit with aftermarket pressure sensors not reading correctly … genuine is best
I’m still trying to get over the wing mirror sensor ! I really wish you were near me in France lm having a nightmare with an R230 Merc
NICE Work 👍👍👍👍
Thank you! Cheers!
MAKE VEHICLES SO COMPLICATED that you have HUGE BILLS AT DEALER and then buy an electric van, BUT how long will the honeymoon period last with electric van before THEY HAVE HUGE COMPLICATED EXPENSIVE PROBLEMS
The battery will last Max 5 years you will see the range go lower each year. I had Leaf Prius and Outlander. Now back to diesel.
I love trying to charge a non rechargeable 9v battery 😂
Excellent ☘️🇮🇪
Jimmy your videos are great but I wud never have diesel engine again just to much trouble this government Fool people into buying diesel cars years ago there doing same with electric cars petrol for me all the way keep doing great work you do mate 👍
I understand but I've never owned a petrol car. I've only ever owned a diesel but Euro 6 is making me think twice
You earnt your corn on that one 👍
You got that right!
What a Professional. Well done. Woman in the outro is a bit dated isn't it? Otherwise brilliant.
Wow that took up a lot of your day i hope the other work went to plan
3 hours exactly.
Gud vid.
Genius of a man. Fair play from Co Wicklow. Love ur knowledge.
amazing how jimmy knows exactly what hes doing, why is it garages don't seem to have these skills?
because shop owners won't let there techs spend hours and hours on a job that's paying for one hour
@@Alex-tu9bh so they'd rather just chuck parts at the vehicle till its fixed then? Cannon garage as I call them.
@@tonyc1167 yeah I've seen it personally from bosses, they just want the tech on the next job. Fun 😂
TopDon 👍🚗👍
How come the vaporizer glowplug is activated when the ignition is switched on ,its feed by a relay .
Definitely is the Guvnor
At the point you think the sensor is dead, thats when you get out your decade box. Rig up and fool ecu to thinking its a sensor. If you adjust the dial and the reading changes on the scan tool for that then you know its the sensor bad.
Can I use the same method you’re using on lorries
Hi how do you know if you got a dpf issue my van runs ok just sometimes get a smell of exhaust fumes when ticking over is a 14 plate transit custom
Would be nice if you answered questions for viewers who really want to know technical aspects of what your showing
Making the videos is hard enough
It’s maddening how many places chuck parts at a vehicle in the vain hope they’ll accidentally cure a problem 😬
Awesome work thanks for your efforts and sharing your experience with us ❤️
My pleasure 😊
Can i ask what code reader you use in the videos
Launch Euro Tab 3 from www.launchtech.co.uk
I personally would of definitely deleted the Egr and Dpf
Anyone out there have an opinion on Subaru 2lt turbo diesel Forrester for suburban/rural driving thinking of getting one. Hello from Oz Mr O’Reilly.
Subaru Diesel are terrible cars for DPF issues. Constant oil dilution issues. No way to fix it as its just a crappie design. I'm had multiple customers come to me had new dpf & injectors etc but car still has oil dilution after 3000 miles

Didn’t expect a reply from the man!
Thank you very much, I was teetering on the edge of buying one. I’ll take your advice as gold standard. ✌️
Blo. Ody technology
You sound pissed off with that job jimmy.
I bet it smokes its arse off next time it regens
If you were a brain surgeon Jimmy you would be earning a mill a year 🎉
