You got the details about Gloria wrong. Sims promised her that if she helped him, he would let her see the beach again (meaning he’d continue to medicate her; not a direct quote) but if she refused, he wouldn’t medicate her and so she’d be trapped in the prison of that room with no beach fantasies as her escape. So she did help him, by saying that Juliette retrieved a bag from the vent, and the bag contained a hard drive.

I need to rewatch that scene to be sure, but that does make sense. Pinned.

@@nautilusfiles you don’t need to rewatch it because I’m never wrong. (Just kidding, go for it.)

Came to comments to say the exact same thing.
This very scene made me like Sims, because I felt how truly grateful he was for Gloria and how uncomfortable it was for him to interrogate her.
      !SPOILERS!
At this point I like him better than the deputy who is much more selfish and spineless than Sims. In later episode when his wife says how they need to focus on their true goal made me think what team Sims is actually playing in. Why her wife let Juliette go? Even after threatening their kid who definitely the most important priority for both of them???

Thanks for the shout out! I’ve been waiting for this latest instalment- loving this refresh on my favourite show this year (possible a tie with Severance after finally discovering that show too!)

Hey, Kirsty@ Thanks for taking a chance on me. Agreed, Silo is far too good a show. I can't imagine not covering this one.

Not the biggest fan of Silo, but I am a huge fan of your videos, so it's worth watching!

I love your take on the politics of the Silo, especially your analogy of FBI vs local law enforcement. There is Judicial (Sims) and the Sheriff department (Juliette), and then there is their respective "heads" (Judge Meadows and Mayor Jahns) who seem actually to be mere puppets, and then even IT is tossed in as a wildcard. It is going to be interesting to find out what the real hierarchy within the Silo is!

hey, ravenlord! That idea about the power dynamics in the Silo becomes even more interesting after the reveal in the finale. I'm trying to be vague here, but I'm sure you know what I mean. One of the parallels between this world and ours is the levels of power that almost serve as buffer between us and the elites at the very top. Each level in its place and willing to defend/enforce their status. I really appreciate how this show mirrors it so well. Appreciate you coming through :)

I totally see it coming. Esp because Tim robbins acting the whole show reminded of him as a secret bad guy in antitrust movie. He plays a good secret bad good guy. I thought he was the puppetmaster like 3rd episode tbh. Hes a fun actor in this role though

Yeah, I thought he was a great cast for this one. He's a master at that understated style of acting.
