this is ridiculous, none of my older Macs have this problem, it's the new one that I overpaid. I just restart it and it works, luckily I don't keep putting in more and more pictures bit it's 6/24 and you still haven't fixed this.
First: skip the above video and simply read the 8 steps in the video description. Second: I've tried all of those eight steps but didn't have luck. Third: Simply WAITING after connecting the iPhone has led it to eventually resolve on its own. Even in as little as one minute. This MIGHT NOT work for you, but GIVE IT TIME. I would recommend doing this early on after trying the restarts and the Airplane trick. Fourth: To reiterate something he said in the video, ONCE THE DEVICE PHOTOS APPEAR, GIVE IT MORE TIME. Allow it to sync completely. You can watch the photos count continue to increase, incrementally. Wait wait wait until the number is no longer increasing - it may go up much much higher than you realize.
