I import vocals into the Melodyne standalone app. I tried both melodic and polyphonic algorithms. Yet when I go to save or export, it does not give me the option to save as a midi file on Mac. All it does is let me choose the save location. Anybody run into a similar scenario?
This seems like it would be helpful in composing large scale pieces. I improvise and it seems like I could take a recording of my improv sketch and use the piano roll as a reference when notating.
Awesome, I wanted to create synth pads for my songs. But I don't have a keyboard and I don't like choosing notes manually. Now I can just play chords on my guitar and convert it to midi.
when i click save as, it could save it only in mdp format. And i could'not change algorythm in plugin version on Fl studio. its only melodic always, others it not avalible
Save as midi is not available in the essential version of melodyne. Also you need to use the standalone version of the software for this to work, not the plugin

@@shortandsweettutorials8767 I have melodyne 5 studio and can't save as midi
Melodyne is still the best audio editor in 2021..Very succesful about analyzing audio,Ableton or Studio One and other can't convert audio to midi like Melodyne..Pay for Melodyne, you can have unlimited sample banks..
Nice video, thanks! I tried to detect notes for the mp3 bass track and melodyne always showed all 'A' chords at the same pitch for all audio I've tried :( How can I fix this?
I just got Assistant 5.1.1.x and knew this was possible, but I didn't see an option to save as MIDI. Save/Save As only shows Melodyne (.mpd) for me but I found it under File › Export. I just tried it on a Rhodes-y type chord sample which was kind of warbly, with decent results. I used another program so I can compare. Great tutorial - thanks.
Sir, you did a great job on the tutorial, but it would be helpful to know which version you are using. I have 4.2.4 assistant. and don't have the polyphonic option unless it's there and I don't know how to get it. Is the universal a work around or something else? Even their tutorials and website are confusing as to what you get and don't get. At least to me. Thanks.
I´m an average user, but I understand that the polyphonic detection is available from Editor version and up. Assistant doesn´t have that feature. Greetings from Argentina
Thanks for the video! edit: save as MIDI option is not available in the Essential version, only in the assistant, editor and studio versions. And to upgrade from Essential to assistant would be 200USD! To buy is 300USD. Any ideas how to convert a track to midi a bit cheaper? :end edit When you change from Melodic to Polyphonic, that's not an option now. Now its Polyphonic Sustain or Polyphonic Decay. What do they do? What are they good for? I get they are polyphonic, but what's the difference? When I play a track in Melodyne it sounds really distorted and terrible, is that normal? How is it useful? Sorry for all the Qs,
@@jonathasx Thanks mate. It's not an option to export to midi. Can export to wav, aiff or lead sheet - I chose lead sheet, and this results in a .mid file, but with nothing in it - imported into Reaper, wouldn't go in Ableton Live, haven't tried other DAWs. In Reaper its just empty, either as multitrack file or separate tracks they are all empty. Also, I chose the Polyphonic Sustain option because there isn't just a Polyphonic option. Doesn't matter, its not a show-stopper. I was trying to try out some technique that required getting midi version, can't even remember it now, I moved on. Don't think I'll ever use my copy of Melodyne Essential for anything, lol.
Hi there, go to Settings --> Preference and choose Shortcuts from list above. Search for MIDI and assign the keyboard shortcut for 'Save as MIDI'. Works for Essential
i used melodyne 5 demo in acoustica mixcraft pro studio 9 and i simply right clicked my audio in the aUDIO TRACK and selceted convert to midi. and give or taker the length of the audio file, a new midi track was created with all the notes laid down. PERFECT. however does melodyne 5 essential pewrform this or will i have to do the extra work like uve done? bearing in mind uve used fruity loops?
I'm always humming little melodies when I'm doing stuff at home, I should start transferring them to midi and fleshing them out into full tracks!
I make a MIDI and soud is good but in MuseScora is so diferent and very bad.

You sound like Paul scholes lol
Awesome, thanks! Also, I'm impressed by the quality of the result.
Honestly you just hit control M and drag the file down to an instrument track
Is that working with melodyne essentials??
thanks
tried it with a wave file..when you savve us there is no midi save as option..
did you do the step at 2:22?
Did you set the algorithm to polyphonic?
I have same wallpaper as you on my laptop

Does yours have a drop down menu named File Type?
I have the same issue except mine doesn’t even give me the option to export as .mid
Where is the PART TWO? I Searched your channel for Melodyne, but only this came up.
Hi apologies it has been so long I have been upgrading my workspace. Part two will be uploaded this weekend. Keep an eye out!
Brooooooo! Thank you so much 🙏🏾💯✊🏾
Show me how to extract midi from a vintage recording for a sample from Punjab
Sweet and concise well done
thanks bro needed this
Awesome, thanks for this! What would you recommend as far as software to convert midi to musical notation, like a score?
Do you use musecore because if you do the software isa capable to read midi files and convert them automaticly into scores

Awesome I can now create songs and let them get automatically generate midi and from there generate my Tabs in Guitar Pro. Thanks for the Tutorial
That intro is almost identical to Forbidden Colours - Ryuichi Sakamoto/David Sylvian
i feel like there is a more direct way of doing this now
How come my- Save as type only show or save as *.mph only?
Cool. But i don't want to do it outside of FL studio.
Thanks brother 👍
