love Chris Holmes, his honesty and down to earth nature, nothing pretentious about him at all!
True
W.A.S.P. is NOTHING without Chris Holmes. Met Chris back in 1999 at the Rainbow Bar and Grill in West Hollywood. He was very nice to chat with and didn't have an ego at all.
WASP has had a career 25 years post CH. That should tell you something.
True, Chris is the main man. All members of W.A.S.P don't have any ego, Blackie is very sensitive when it comes to the business side. Apart from that, All members are nothing like the guys from Motley Crue with that stupid Dirt movie.. Or like the guys from Kiss.
I have met Johnny Rod a few times back here in St Louis and he is as down to earth as they get. Shit he would even jam with you, if you play music.
Greg C I live in Cardinal land as well. Ran in to Johnny Rod at the Home Depot in Chesterfield a few years ago. He was completely "NOT" an egotistical rocker. I've met dozens and dozens of rockers ( and opened for a few) and JR was super nice
Right! Blackie who?? Ahhhaahahaa
This man is an absolute gem! Just a good person
"You always brought the cool factor into WASP"....FACT... Chris is one of those rare people who are just cool as their natural state of being, the real deal rock star . I always try to catch any new interview Chris does and he always come off so honest, transparent and real. He has that rare" got to be born with it" vibe like Keith Richards does that others TRY to emulate but cant be faked.😎
I loved the tone of his guitar, very distinctive sound and style!
Yep...ONE of a kind "tone" for SURE 🤘
Damn, this is the most intelligent and coherent interview I've ever heard Chris give. Glad he's doing well and seems healthy.
Amazing he's still among the living!👍
Ladies & Gentleman Mr. Christopher Holmes 🎸💪😎👊
Hells yeah...love it. Chris is a killer guitar player..first seen them live Toledo Ohio in 1986..🎸🤘 rock on brother
Every other Chris Holmes interview is a disaster. The audio is usually bad and he comes off as grumpy and incoherent. I almost didnt even listen. But you man, made it look easy. You are the best at what you do. Thanks for the great work!
Thank you, my friend. It was a thrill to interview him. Bucket list type chit for me. PART II will be amazing.
Can I swear?
ABSOLUTELY!
Chris Holmes... The Real Deal. Respect.
Chris is my favorite member as well hands down. Got to meet him many years ago on last tour with wasp and was front row and leaned forward at end of first song and had his fist out so I thought he was trying to give me a fist pump so I did that back and he insisted with his hand again and nodded like for my hand so I opened my hand and he dropped his guitar pick in my hand.
Got to meet him after the show and he signed my CD booklet and my custom wasp shirt I made and he even tried to go backstage and get blackie to sign my album, and no surprise when he came back blackie was already gone he left the venue right away back to hotel. Chris was only one staying around for the fans and he's the only one I wanted to meet.
He has been such a huge inspiration to me over all these years, as I'm sure he is to so many other guitarists. Keep rockin' Chris we love you brother!
Great story. Thanks for sharing it.
Chris sounds good here in this interview..
Definitely he sounds good and no alcohol is the best thing.
I'm shocked and extremely elated. Keep it up Chris.
I always liked Chris.. from what I've read,,,Sackie Ball-less ripped off Chris on publishing
Sober since '96. Good for him.
He sounds great...clean mind.
Yeah, he’s been good for a long time now. That’s cool! Time flies. I loved hearing him talk about the old neighborhoods. I grew up around there too. I remember going to my guitar lesson in high school, and my teacher, Chet Thompson, would have one of Chris’s guitars in there. I believe it was the blood stained explorer. This was around 1986. Chet and Chris were good friends, and they all knew Randy of course-and Eddie. Just fun having that slight connection with all the guys.
When Chris and Lita were married, they lived just maybe a mile from me. We would see Chris out at parties. And he would just say something like, “the old ladies at home.”Because we wouls always ask about Lita. He’s great man, I love these interviews. 🤘🏻🎸
Basically CH is the best interviewee in Rock... CH just has a way of making you feel as if you’re sitting in the couch listening in to his conversation... as alway you are the best interviewer cause you actually let the interview talk and organically allow for the info to flow! Amazing stuff with the SoCal music scene legends’ degrees of association. Thank you and never stop providing us with your excellent content! #ExcellenceInBroadcasting 🤘
Great analogy. I agree with you 💯
Chris is such a great honest dude.
So he was the guy pouring the vodka in "Metal Years". When I first saw that movie I had no idea who he was (still don't, really) and thought to myself "He won't be around long". Shows how much I know.
Chris always has always been deeply intelligent, he's always been too empathic though, worrying about what you want to hear, but here he seems so talkative and interesting, that must be down to the interviewer. A great interview, thank you.
Chris Holmes a good friend of mine and love his solo records
your always a legend chris holmes it is true hes cool as fuck and great guitarist one of my all time favs
This was awesome it's good to hear chris sound so good i think he has a wonderful woman behind him and he is living his best life now.
Finally a recent Chris Holmes interview that was super cool with him telling stories and memories.
Thank you, Robin. Just wait until you hear PART II.
From what I have been told and seeing the video of Chris or his look a like,my friend Carlos Cruz of L.A s rock band STONEBREED Chris would just show up at gigs and play with the band ,no rehearsals, not one .in this interview Chris "says last time he was here 2014 " I mnot sure if Carlos ever said when .year s.Chris if you read this .did you play with STONEBREED a few times or?
very cool
Chris was a total babe back in the 80’s. We were crazy about him, George Lynch, EVH. Check out his old pics…was very very hot. I love him. Awesome guitarist. The real deal.
Every time I listen to FIB I learn something new about the bands I grew up listening to. The first WASP album was the first album I ever purchased in a record store. To this day it holds up as their finest hour. Thanks again for keeping these great stories alive!
Chris Holmes you Rock man your one of the best !!! 🤘🔥💥💯
Thank you so much for this !!!!
Another great interview, doesn’t get any more professional and informative. You are the best!
Thank you, Michael.
@@fullinbloom Very Welcome, thanks for the awesome interviews.
Don’t pass it by! Chris sounding sharp and on point here. Best interview I’ve ever heard with him and he has a wealth of great stories for those of us who love those old days.
I dig Chris Holmes. He reminds me alot of Ace Frehley - not a bad thing, just an observation
Keep getting better Chris...Rock on...
Great interview, like WASP back in the 80s, Chris was awesome.
Sad how he has been cut out of royalities from WASP.
Cool interview. Nice to hear him coherent and happy
Chris Holmes is Awesome.
Love your interviews man, so clear and always interesting topics keeps me glued to the screen
Thank you, Arthur.
Chris: Can I swear?
Interviewer: Absolutely!
😂😂😂
Love this channel!!!
Awesome interview. This guy is so cool!!

canada is ready for you chris!! yeser!! ama fan
I love listening to these interviews with Chris. He sounds like just about every guy I grew up with.
Great interview
Absolutely fabulous. Love it.
Best Heavy Metal Guitarist
That’s has to be my favourite and most pleasant (and insightful) interview I’ve ever heard with Chris Holmes. Really enjoyed this. Thanks for this! Looking forward to part 2. 👍🏻👍🏻
Thanks for listening, Matt.
@@fullinbloom It's my pleasure. Cheers!
Another great interview. I went to see Chris 3 years ago yesterday and his drummer lives near me, I used to work at the same nuclear place!
What?! For real?
@@fullinbloom Yeah when I say I went to see him I meant in concert. I don't know him personally.
@@metalmickey I knew what you were saying. I was referring to the fact that you worked at the same nuclear place. Were you part of the cleanup Chris talked about?
@@fullinbloom no there are 12000 work there, it's called Sellafield. It's the biggest employer in the area though.
Just keepin with the nuclear/metal theme me dad worked at capenhurst nuclear fuels years ago and I suppose capenhurst would of got some of the spent fuel rods from sellafield which is huge but I never thought it was that big WOW.. capenhurst is now closed and it's in a 10 year decommission..I remember the spent fuel coming through Chester train station in these yellow metal containers, haha 🤘🤘🤘... GRT Chris interview though wasn't mate and he sounds in good shape just waiting for more venues to reopen...
Talked to Chris at the Troubadour MANY times in ‘79-85… very nice guy…
"Yeah Yeah Yeah!" to sum up LOTTA the Chris Holmes vocabulary...😆 Seriously though, REALLY dig this interview! 🤘🔥🤘
The whole reason I play guitar is Chris Holmes, His tone, and harmonics is always the sound I strived for. even though my time was in the 90's that edge that Chris had was always what I tried to obtain. I think Chris would amazed at the up and coming guitarist that learn his chops.
Chris Holmes Is The Original Mean Man ! 🤘💀
Chris is one of those guitarist that one note you know its him. So glad he's doing music his music.mean man was awesome to watch.
LEGEND 👍🏻
You absolute legend
Can you imagine how someone would sound if they said I got a polio vaccine so maybe if I get polio it just won't be as bad. Survived Covid in Florida. Thanks for the interview, Chris was the man back in the day
Full In Bloom delivers yet another great interview 👍🏻💯🍺🎶
One of my favourites a true metal madman
Saw WASP open for KISS in Dallas. Lol. Chris cane back out for encore with Cowboys helmet and jersey(D. Johnston) I believe. We f n howled!!!
Cool dude love em
Chris “Mean Man” Holmes
The mean men gotta come back to the jester in Westport Ireland!! Before the flame burns ouuutttttt!!!
I remember seeing WASP at the Troub and Blackie was throwing meat at the audience. We were up in the rafters. I remember Chris played a Yellow Star guitar, I'm trying to remember the story of how Ed called Chris and asked him if he could borrow one of his guitars during the recordings of Women & Children First.
I heard that story, I wonder where that guitar is at.Lita Ford destroyed one of Chris’s guitars.
Ed had a Gibson Explorer that he liked to track with, but cut a chunk out of the back to make it look like a shark had bitten it. Afterwards, Ed realized that the guitar sounded very different, ( he said it sounded like shit) and wanted an Explorer he knew had a good tone to record tracks for the album. Chris was in the hospital at the time, so Eddie borrowed Chris's instead of having to search for a new one on short notice. Hope that helps.
Cheers!
@@machupikachu1085 Wasn't that guitar made out Koa wood ? I knew he cut up the shark guitar and that it didn't sound as good. . So that White explorer ended up as the shark I guess. He recorded a lot from that guitar from the 1st album.
Funniest part is talking about using drum machine he like hey don't have to change drums heads lol
He's the epitome of cool👊😎
I think Randy California-Spirit-was probably an influence on this cat:)Good documentary film!
The Sex drive demo 1977 , the solo with legato thing Too , 100 % Chris
The dont know what i am solo is also chris holmes
Do you have more in depth (longer) conversations with the WASP guys? How do I find them? I have heard all the short ones...
Sorry to hear Chris took the "safe and effective." I hope it doesn't harm his overall health and cancer recovery going forward.
I remember my first{ [2] rock mags "HIT PARADER" | Who's More Sick: KISS vs. W.A.S.P. ( chance of reading Metal news[1986] ) & Ozzy vs. Nikki.} year in Jr. High.
🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
Dont know who i am and Cries in the night sound the A lot alike
I love his early Van Halen Pasadena days comments. I remember going through the walk through on Rose Parade floats. I have two thoughts about Van Halen. I think the Cocaine ego fueled Roth made him harder to deal with but you know Eddie probably had offers and requests left and right that he turned down. I think resentment built up.
Chris is like Lemmy RIP, no fake stage persona (Blackie...) just the real deal all the time.
What an amazing interview just love Chris and he has real fans who care about him because of what you see is what you get with big chris and everything I've seen or read about him he's just a genuine bloke...and that bit at the end Christ what a drummer big thanks man for what you did in cleaning that area...2 Russians and 3 Brits 1 being a family man copper who nearly died but has been left with life changing injuries, the bloke had found this posh perfume and took it home for his missus of course not realising that it had novochok in it and had been used to poison/kill a Russian dissedent and his daughter was also poisoned...so 5 poisoned with novochok 1 intentionally the other 4 by accident and 2 died and 3 lived because of the amazing NHS...the Russians also made it known that they had novochok after killing that other Russian bloke in London.... wasn't expecting that at the end fuckin Chris just nailing it at the end well halfway 👍🤘🤘🤘...2nd part...
This is weird shit, but I’m a functioning alcoholic so it makes perfect sense. On my day off from work watching this stuff at 5 am. In the states. Went to bed earlier but up doing laundry and shots of whiskey. Need to attend a luncheon at 12:30 pm. Guess I’m fine.
There was a time in the states when gas pumps were using liters. It didn't last long.
By the way, what is your name? I've never seen an interview in which the interviewer doesn't reveal his identity until now...
Chris Holmes is THE guitar sound of WASP that we all love! btw I thought headless Children was fk awesome! ....I'm gonna grab my head phones and rock.
That's what I consider back to normal as well, when we all don't have to wear a mask anymore especially at a concert.
It's hard hearing the great Chris Holmes saying ....... "my wife doesn't allow me to"......
Eddie was a big Tony Ionmi fan
I wonder if Chris and Lita ever made a Tommy and Pamela tape
He reminds me of Ace Frehley
Thats classic lapd crap im glad chris is loving there in canne still miss you chris here in america
there is no wasp without chris.
It sounds like chris
HAHAHA!
Wiggle sticks!
Watched the documentary, he doesn’t seem very mean 😁
LOL Holmes is not a Tony Richards expert and I would ask Tony Richards! Numerous times i personally transported his drums to gigs and Tony is a phenomenal Drummer🤘
Hi Lorraine. What's your story with Tony? Did you hang with him back in the Dante Fox days? Also, I did interview Tony...there are some clips on the channel.
Dude's been in France for 6 years and STILL hasn't picked up the metric system?? Not the brightest bulb for sure. Took me about 6 days. Isn't that difficult.
Why do things about WASP keep popping up in my suggestions?
There couldn't be more than 5 or 10 people on Earth that care about WASP.
at some point everyone dies
Chriss your too cool for that sixx who is a tool
I lost interest in wasp after chris was gone. Thats just me, I guess they still do ok overseas. He's the true rock rebel in that band and brought the sound, imo. But I dont like much of his solo material, that I've heard so far.
This guy really believes the covid bs lol
Chris believes in covid🙄
This guy isn't too bright.
