The most BRUTAL 12ga. Slug - Try not to WINCE!

- Today we test out a slug called the "Twister". It is a heavy lead slug that fragments into multiple, large pieces on impact. You may remember tests of Twisters with up to 6 petals, and they worked well. But there seemed to be a HUGE difference when the petals are large like these.

A big THANK YOU to our Patreon supporters.
Has to be one of the most impressive fragmenting slugs you have shown. Being able to cast your own makes it even better.
but would this kill you more than a regular slug?)))
@@CoolGobyFish probably a little quicker.
How can one cast these themselves?
Yeah but he used very bad quality gel, it was like jelly. Not supposed to be
@@CoolGobyFish it would kill you the same amount since dead is dead
This is one of the oldest Russian bear hunting bullets with 12 gauge smoothbore guns. Its inventor was the governor of the Tver province of Tsarist Russia, Prince Shirinsky-Shikhmatov. Few people will remember him as an official, but as a bear hunter and the author of the bullet of the same name, he remained in Russian history for a long time.
That is a fascinating history. I do study the 'evolution' of arms and this has to count.
@Pat Luxor I would use the word 'successful'. I did do some looking, there is a company that sells molds for the described slugs. (Three or four sections as the consumer prefers.) I'm a rifle aficionado, but this does cheer me on. And one notes, the Prince did indeed know about what he did.
Me: I lost weight
My gut: 05:56
actually splitting the pork like that is crazy 8:00 what a display of energy
8:00 . . . it's the timestamp for when it happens _AND_ the number of pieces it splits into!
This might be the perfect round for home defense if you want to still be finding pieces of the guy, who's chest you vaporized in your kitchen 4 mo ago, stuck way up under your refrigerator lol.
Jeff's channel existed for a long fucking time, still growing steadily and still being relevant in 2022 despite youtube's bullshit. Hats off.
I have given this channel many hours of my life. The content and humor, take me to my happy place. Thanks guys at TFM.
thank you very much Viktor!
Love O.G. lots of humor there.
It ma-ma-ma-makes me Happy.
olny way that it could be better if d was still with us
@@charlesballiet7074 Deez nutz?
“Everyone loves exploding on jugs”…I heard you bro, I caught that. Ha well played.
5:46 Turned that bear straight into a ghost.
8:47 "everybody likes exploding on juggs" YES! YES WE DO!
If there ever is something like a "Zombie Dinosaur Attack", this is the load for you!
The damage this slug did to the pork shoulder has me picturing it stopping a charging moose in its tracks. Jeff suggested it would be a good home defense round. Probably so, if your home is ever invaded by a bear or an alligator or any hoofed critter.
I like to have a little more than this for home defense. You're gonna make a mess anyway, so might as well do it right.
@@keithhagler502 aa12 full of these?
I believe it achieves the affect the engineer wanted. I wouldn't want to take a hit from one of these especially without the armor. Devastating.
I’ve been watching for a solid 6 years EVERY night.. had extremely bad reoccurring nightmares. So I would let the videos play on repeat and it’s become such an engrained part of my brain watching the same videos don’t bother me what so ever. It still always notice things I’ve never noticed the 3593 times before 😭😂 beautiful video thanks guys
lol thanks Jordan
This round is perfect for home Invaders wearing t-shirts. The meat shot sold me on the idea.
"Everyone likes exploding on jugs."
-Officer Gregg 2022
If the accuracy could be extended to 100 yards or so, I would happily use this slug for deer; the only worry I would have would be wasting meat. That pork test you guys did was freaking AMAZING!
it would definetly waste too much meat
Instant ground beef
WHAT DEER?? It was there a second ago!!
This isn't for hunting animals. This is a man killer, period.🤔😏
@@tristantimothy1004 🤣
Still going through the years and OG did not harm any dolls in the making of this video.
Very good content guys. You do provide all that you claim to offer.
thanks Sean
Thanks so much for always being amazing
thank you
If you need a pick me up. This channel has its all. Good content and humor. And good ideas for us reloaders. Keep it up, two thumbs up.
thanks Michael
So far the most impressive slug. Your on a winner with that one.
Thanks guys, interesting as ever. Often when something looks right, it just is right.
I thought a longer tail would be more stable.
However the proportions of the shorter wadding just kind of looked right to my eye & obviously worked well.
An extremely effective projectile but I suspect if you hit something with a standard foster slug it would be just as dead.
That thought about a longer tail just betrays the fact you were "docked" as a puppy ......
The way that gel at the end did a dance while shaving cream can was floating in air was just awesome...
“Try not to wince”. *watches 4 seconds of thumbnail*. Immediately winces.
I've been watching and loving your channel for over a decade I'd say, but I literally just blasted my FIRST EVER slugs from my 870 recently. Just as devastating and shocking as I figured, it's just crazy. Now I can officially start down the rabbit hole of trying alllll the slugs 😂
Sweet slug, great video, and nice shooting 👍
thanks!
You guys have really made a fun channel. Also LE (former) so even better. Thanks guys, love all the tests.
Awesome! Thank you!
Holy cow what a slug! & What a amazing video, that was so unbelievably cool, Sure appreciate your efforts and quality content thanks for all you do Luv&Peace...🤝🏼✌🏼
thank you
I don't think there would be enough cow left to create a hole. 🤣
@@cycoholic hahaha that so very true! Lol Great comment Cheers!✌🏼
Very cool test, guys. I wonder how this slug would perform as a 3-1/2 magnum load. Probably pretty gnarly.
Well, you know what they say: There's no kill like overkill.
@@vicroc4 Heck yeah!
I have hunted a lot of years using 12 ga slugs. But this changes the game completely
This one has the best kinetic energy trasfer of any ive seen so far. One thing is certain, whatever gets hit by it is gonna be utterly destroyed 😲😲😲
Love your channel and your testing video's. I would want this for protection against large bears but I'm not sure it would want to use it on whitetails. Probably too much destruction of good venison. Either way, keep em coming.
I am using a required by my Henry lever action 410, a 2½inch shell.
I am extremely interested in asking PhychoClown if he would be willing to manufacture a batch of 2½inch Mr. Twister shells for me.
I am paralyzed from my shoulders down, and dependent on this Henry lever action for my home defense !
Okay guys, totally enjoy your videos, and learning from the science as you unfold the results in high speed camera footage !
Love what you are doing !
Keep 'em comin' guys !
thank you
I failed,I winched,that pork explored. Thanks Gents.🏴👍🏻🏴
AHHHH SPIDER! Or am I the only one who saw that? 🡺 1:47
If you like these you'll love the Svarog Botfly mold. They have another band around the slug. Svarog 1-1/8oz Botfly Slug, Longshot, Brush Wad, Roll crimp. 1500fps 39 cents each for new hulls and 32 cents when reusing hulls
"and we use all the screen" *gets excited as the screen widens to then be dissapointed by the fact my ultrawide is not filled as one would hope after such an intro*
DO A "MOST BRUTAL" VIDEO PLEASE!!!
Would totally love to see you's guys shooting the craziest rounds y'all ever had on the channel. Itd be awesome to know what would work better to clear out federal hog on the property.
Totally gonna repost This on every future video I go and watch... Or rewatch 😜 till I get a yay or nay from y'all
I thoroughly enjoy your content. Thank you for making your videos. I love the gatekeeper round. This one is pretty good but i would have to go with the gatekeeper.
Can't believe you named the dummy Brandon. Brutal !!! 😂😉🤣
Mount em to the gas seal, sharp side towards enemy, so the sharp tip has a chace of engagement
Excellent furry-free test video! Keep 'em coming.
damn. This round is devastating. That is IMPRESSIVE!
I too am here for the science. Love this channel!
Wow.....wow
Thanks Taufledermaus Crew
Psycho Clown Twister does not sound like something you want to be up against when you rob a house :p
Crime scene cleaner: „I quit."
That forty yard shot was pretty impressive.
Not only did it absolutely annihilate the pork, but it also flipped the metal block, and through it off the table.
"this slug is a fragmenting hollow point" boy you don't want to get hit by one of this...
Need to figure out how to send a few hundred pounds of these to Ukraine.
Maybe you should ask the Russians? AS Company is a Russian company.
Man of culture confirmed 8:47
Great video, nasty slug... Goodnight Irene!
Twister slugs + Deer Hunting = easy grounded hamburger meat
Amazing scientific knowledge
It’s slug called “sh sh”(shirinski shachmatov was invented in age 19th,Russian hunter for bears)
Excellent slug!! This channel always brings excellent content!!
Much appreciated!
That is one mean slug... Thanks for sharing 👍. Only a "LAZAR" would be better..
Ojibway man tokes and smiles......
Man that first impact on the meat OUCH
Walking... Um personally I feel that slug would remove said option and replace it with meat vomit. Thanks guys for the video
This is terrifying. It would rip you apart on a battlefield. All casualties fatal.
Seeing this makes me think the JFK bullet was something like this.... wow, never thought of this till now. Haven't seen any theories on this either. FIRST!
Gregg should consider teaching remedial math. Particularly converting fractions to percentages.
Interesting. The rifled barrel enabled what's his name to place three shots in a small group high on the water jug. Which would indicate on any rifle or handgun that the group was good and the sights needed to be adjusted. (Down a couple of clicks.) Happily I don't have much use for shotguns these days.
Wow, that is some seriously nasty ammo
Amazing video just caught this 9/8/23 wow. would love to have a top ten list from the last 4 years or so.
“ everybody likes exploding on jugs” Lmmfao!
I would like to see you guys shoot a balloon full of corn starch with water mixture. That thing that when you put your hand in slowly and it acts like a liquid but when you hit it hard it acts like a solid mass.
Did anyone notice, right at the 12:00 min mark on that first rifled shot, the slug or petals cleared out and took a branch off the tree behind? (LoL)
If that were a torso there would be organs everywhere.
This what Brandon thinks a 9mm does to a person lol
Amazing stuff! So, what’s the most fearsome slug you’ve tested so far?
The local library had a midget crossdresser show last week called the "Low drag, high speed show". He was busted with cocaine.
This is one incredible slug, I must buy some soon.
12:50 the dirt in the background shoots up in 3 spots where the slug tore apart.
12:06 clipped a branch on the tree behind on the ricochet.
You shot that poor gummy bear in the balls! 🤣
Who said Pigs don't fly! 💣💥
That is a wicked piece of lead.
Greg looks like when ChrisChan tried to pretend he was a "normal" adult.
You know it’s a good joke when you can’t even tell till the punch line. I had no idea the screen was so skinny, they have ruined me😂
Wild power behind that round
You guys need the animal costumes for sure lmao...at least once.
I saw that meat explode and I had to watch
First time seeing this channel. Just like all the others
@12:06 where it also trims a branch out of the tree in the background
That's a really cool round.
I think this is OG's best afternoon. Great shooting!
Well if you’re ever hunting dinosaurs you’re good!
12:05 -- the slug broke a branch off of the tree in the background
That is absolutely the most deadliest slug I’ve seen. What it did to that pork The kinetic energy is Unbelievable. That would drop a deer definitely in its tracks
Tell ya what: if Brandon comes knocking, this is the slug I want!
Thanks guys I love it.
That's one heck of a tenderiser...
Классное видео. По делу, без лишних пауз.
WAIT WAIT WAIT............. Your thumbnail teases me with Werner Klemperer and you don't call this slug "THE KLINK"?
Scary round
this should be mass produced. No brainer hunting round
Nice..Can you guys demonstrate on live hogs that’s caught in hog traps?
