@@TheMillennialPlantDad finally caught up 😅 you’ve given this succulent spot such a tropical, lush feel and I LOVE it! Also is that a coppertone sanseveria at around 16:24? I’ve never seen one so mature and it’s gorgeous 😍 I’m inspired to revive my dying one 😂
Beautiful succulent collection. Have you heard of the spiral aloe? It’s my favorite. I like to put a top dressing on all of my cactus and succulent arrangements. If I don’t have top dressing I simply use pumice.
Yesss Babe. I am a fairly new succulent mother, the first quarter of 2024. Now I’m addicted. Love this tour. I can’t wait to get my hands on a crested cactus like yours 😊
Very inspiring! I've avoided succulents as I was not sure how they'd go in the wet season here in tropical Australia, but you've given me so much to think about. Love the aesthetic or your succulent area too, it's really lovely.
Agave grow really large. I have never put two of them together with a cactus to boot. 😮😊😆 UNSOLICITED ADVICE: 😂 Me personally I would grow agave separate from the cactus in a pot like that. Now if they were growing in the ground it would be a different story. I just know from my own personal experience agave grow large. And take up a lot of space in the pot. Including having a ton of roots. They are similar to aloes. They take up a ton of space in the pot. Just FYI. ❤
Mandacaru, the cactos from Brazil is very commum here in my region (Bahia - Brazil), it really can take the sun. I have to say I don't how people can grown them inside. Another commom here it is the Melocactus bahiensis another that can take de sun and the heat, but I find out not really such a fan of humidity (but I think I ask too much kkkk)
Rush down here after just viewing your IG story…amazing,I got a cactus 🌵 I put it directly into the ground(like earth) it has been doing so well,I have been procrastinating uprooting it and potting it…am afraid is gonna unlive 😭..note am in a rented apartment 🤦🏼♂️
The aloe you didn’t know the name of is called a pink blush aloe. I have one too and they are gorgeous ❤. I love the pattern and the pink edges. I just got mine and can’t wait for it to grow and multiply.
Babe, the tiger looking aloe is actually nicknamed "tiger aloe" 🤓 According to wiki: Gonialoe variegata, also known as tiger aloe and partridge-breasted aloe, is a species of flowering plant in the family Asphodelaceae. It is an evergreen succulent perennial indigenous to South Africa and Namibia. It is common in cultivation.
Just curious, have you ever considered getting labels to label your plants? Last year I finally caved and purchased a label maker and it’s been a game changer. 🎉
I always wondered why many planty folks don’t put labels with their plants, it’s how I learn names and know when I got the plant, plus I can tell friends the correct botanical name. 🪴😉
I love LOVE Shy!! The Morning Chorus is one of my FAVORITE succulents YT channel. Have you checked out Liz? “Growing Succulents With Liz” is another great inspirational succulents YT content creator. But WARNING: You will want to buy more succulents times 10 if you watch her channel regularly. 😂 She has “helped” feed my own succulents addiction more times than I can count.😅
I used to have one of those “fluffy” opuntia “bunny ears” one but I got rid of it because I got so tired of it “attacking me” every time I watered it. 🤪 And it’s such a pain to get those little teeny tiny white “hairs” out of your skin. And so uncomfortable!! It’s like fiberglass. 😅 I just couldn’t do it any more. 😂 I love opuntias though. I have a few in my collection just not the “bunny ears” hairy one anymore. 😝
Why do I catch myself smiling when watching and listening to you describe your “babes”? Oh and by the way, I’m not a Hoya fan either and I think they are not fond of me.
I wanted a whale fin sooo bad but my local nursery was selling a shark fin and I asked them what the difference was and they really thought they were the same, do you know if they are different? To me the shark fin looks like a tall more narrow than the whale fin sansevieria.
Put your kalanchoe thats not blooming in a dark closet for a couple hours everyday to get it bloom. They need a light period of 8 hours or less to trigger blooms.
Just discovered your channel and I am loving it. I also love being called babes, making me feel warm and comfy ❤❤❤❤
Aww thank you for joining this community. Means a lot and I hope you feel warm and comfy here all the time !

💚 Love them. If I ever get burnt out on houseplants I don’t think I’d ever give up succulents.
Same !! They are so so low maintenance. I could have an entire garden with just them

@ Right. It’s so helpful. I put the date I received and the place I bought it from along with the name. The label maker has helped me so much. 🥰
Beautiful!🤗

Any Opuntia is banned from my indoor and outdoor garden ☠️🌵

Really enjoyed this video! Thank you for sharing your succulents collection! ❤
You are so welcome!
