What a beautiful video, unfortunately this is the bitter reality of a plant parent. 🌸You have shown me that it is often worth being more pragmatic with plants, thank you for that! Such a shame about your loss, but as you say, then there will be room for new plants. I'm already looking forward to your update ☺️✨
Aww I love how positive your comment is . Oh yes plants have made me a very pragmatic person. You can mop and sob. You have to be solution oriented and remain positive. Can’t wait to take you guys plant shopping and the restoration process of my garden
I love the rawness of this video and your real reaction of you finding/treating these pests! I also love that you are sticking to plants that you do well with, I had to do that too as I just dont get ample light in my house and decided succulents and cacti arent my thing coming from an overwaterer lol😅
Let us all drink some water while we appreciate this beautiful human stressing out about their pests. 🤗 I love you
Turned a basic plant video into a full blown nigerian film 😂 your videos keep making me laugh more every new one that comes out.
I’m glad you didn’t try to save those that were gone.❤❤❤
I follow you cause your Aglaonema advice has changed my 4 little women into thiving plump Diva's. My one that looked dead in a LOWE's multi plant clearace pot just gave me four little babies popping up. I was like "See! TMPD did that for my chic's." Maybe the now hot season made them hatch out and brougt them to your door? I will pray to the Bonide Captain Jacks dead bug brew God's that your sustem. works and your women make a comeback tour. This is helpful to all of us who live and survive a pest struggle.
Pests are the one thing in this hobby that really brings me down... it's a constant battle! Tomorrow morning I have a session booked fighting spider mites and aphids before they get out of hand. Sigh.
Breathe breathe. I’m here panicking with u so let’s both calm down ☹️😄this is the down part of an outside garden. 🤞🏾
Aglaonema's are the most underrated house plant 🪴
They are so stunning without the drama of
Calatheas.
They are gorgeous I need to get one again!
Ohh noooo!!! I'd be devastated. I'm so sorry! Treat EVERYTHING!
@@Puppylove82-gv3gm thank you !! I did spray as much plants that I could . Will keep spaying them down in the coming weeks
My heart breaks for you. Unfortunate, but you'll survive. Good rule of thumb that you said ..."Pick your battles."
Oh noooo I’m so so sorry I think you need to spend a week or two as those “people who do the most” you spilled the tea on in your gossip session. 😂 My heart goes out to you.
Oh no im not going to have a nervous breakdown ! No truer words that ever needed to be repeated. I'm panicking with you. Great job taking care of the problem and not having a complete breakdown lol. Sometimes you have to toss out the problem plants. They are here to bring us joy not stress.
Ebuka so sorry about your losses…. I can only imagine how you must feel but you are such a powerful example and teacher to share your mistake so we can learn from you… how can I send you a cup of coffee…
Aww thank you so much Kim!! I actually have a Buy Me a Coffee thing linked to my bio here , so do feel free to use it . Would mean alot
When you got to the hibiscus I could tell that devastation was really setting in. Po baby! We are here with you!!
Hey 👋 friend! Sorry to see such a horrible situation you have, as you said, please be mindful of your poor air circulation problem as well when thinking about filling up those garden holes, especially thankful for sharing with us the best plant practice of bin the plants with the infestations that are really bad and not look 👀 back, its really best for the collection as a whole! Thanks so much for kindly sharing your thoughts and experiences in the planty community! Lots of love ❤️ Ginger
Aw man I feel ya! When I lived in FL I had scales, mealybugs, whiteflies, aphids (and maybe spider mites but I forget). Regardless of the pests, your garden looks ahhhmazing!
You definitely saw a ghost 👻! I live in the Sonoran Desert (Phoenix, Arizona, USA), and I can relate to your experience of water coming out of the hose too hot. Our high temperatures go over 115 F (46 C) during the summer.
I’m so sorry :( I feel your pain 😫
Those scale are horrible, I feel your frustration with them. I find my fading millenial eyesight struggles to spot tiny pests fhat hide under leaves like that.
The decimated your beautiful aglaonemas ☠️ that’s just rude
Hello, I'm sad you're going through but you made me 😂..I'm not going to have a nervous breakdown. Please don't let them kill you.I enjoy you so much😊
I always struggle with thrips infestations. Your Agoanemas served the same purpose as my Maranthas. Maranthas always get attacked with thrips so they work as canary in a coalmine. Luckily they're also resilient enough that I've nursed them back from a total crisp.
How sad! You have such beautiful aglaonemas! I had this same infestation on my snake plants, and I threw them out and started over. Now I have nasty thrips on my hoyas! I'm looking out to see the new collection.😊
I will not have a nervous breakdown- lol
I really enjoyed ur plants for they so beautiful
So sorry for this
But thank God u don't lose 🙏 your Kool and break down
Yes, the scales do their best at staying hidden out of sight.
I am happy that you were able to salvage a few of your plants.
So sorry- I garden outside and sometimes it’s helpful to sacrifice a plant to bring in beneficial insects is search of food.
Insects are a part of nature don’t despair plants are tougher than you’ve given them credit for scale comes and goes with the season treat it easily with garlic and water in a spray bottle. I’ve been a horticulturalist for over 20 years….
💚
The speed of pests in the tropics has to be experienced to believe I think. We look at a wonderful plant, basking in the greatness of its beauty, and 10 SECONDS LATER that same plant is decimated.
Sometimes I watch videos of colder climate girlies and the show some type of pest, and I channel my inner Crocidile Dundee and think “that’s not a pest!”
I’ve been battling Hibiscus Bugs on my Grevillias and have been trying to not have the same nervous breakdown you are holding off.
Exactly!! Someone in the tropics gets it ! They spread so aggressively here and just seem to appear overnight. Urgh but what can one do ? Just take it as it is and enjoy the benefits of tropical gardening
And buy more plants 😆
Watching from the UK ❤
Oh no!😟
So sorry about losing some of your plants. Good thoughts to you from NJ
I'm sorry about ur pest problem
I am going thru white flies attack myself and root rot from those best
Please set a spray date for them so sit doest reach that point ok and I use plant guards for the snail 🐌
Ants 🐜
Bugs 🐛 problems
OMG I'm so sorry
Support coming your way
Yikes ! I’m in denial about some pests I have now ! Thanks for inspiring me to get going on it . Sending a cool breeze from Cali
Oh no, not your beautiful aglaonemas. 😭 Scale is one thing I haven’t experienced yet, knock on wood!
Treat every thing and everyone 😊
@@lavonpowell854 screaming @ everyone 🤣. But I get you!
@@TheMillennialPlantDad LOL!!!! Me too!! Plants are people, too!! 😂
NOT THE AGLAONEMAS!!! 😭
I feel your pain. 😢
So sad. Are they usual where you come from.
How do you get rid of it. You need to treat all your plants
Do you grow any flowering plants that would encourage predatory bugs? like ladybugs, wasps?
Recently lost my Fernwood Mikado Sans to scale. It got down into the base of the plant & just could not get rid of it. Oh, well -- time to buy new plants. Best of luck with all your lovelies. From south central PA ,USA
Scales are the absolute worst pests. I will take a swarm of thrips over them ! And sometimes It’s best to just throw the plant away when the infestation is extreme. Thanks for watching 💚
Oh Lord those beautiful plants, hope the philodendron did not catch it.
I think those are thrips.. definitely not scale.
Hi Ebuka, can you wash them with detergent, change soil etc I think once I had this issue with a cactus; but it takes time to get rid of that pest 😢 Gosh, I am going to have to check all my plants tomorrow during the day 🐛 OMG this is horrible 😮 even my head it’s itching 🙏🏼 Ebuka you took this issue calmly, how this happened to quickly?
I hope you got some rest from today 😊 thanks for sharing
Thank you so much Maggie ! I have no choice but to be calm , I’ve faced this before and using a systemic is the only approach that works with these guys. And I certainly rested today. I had the best sleep ever
@@TheMillennialPlantDad Ebuka you are right; going plant shopping is best 😊 and we will help you with that ❤ I will help send my Christmas 🎄 contribution to you ❤ 😂😂😂 Ebuka it’s like when you have kids & give them money but the joy is to see them enjoy spending in what they need & like 👍 so sweetie let’s have fun 🤩 December is here 🤪🤪🤪
😩
Fix it while it’s new issue.
Sorry about the scales Ebuka 😮 My plants are also infested with scales, o my God! What kind of systemic do you use?
Urgh I hate scales. I use this brand called Provanto but any one would do .
I hate that your plants are infested with scales. I've never seen those before. Mine has some kind of pest. I see the damage but not what's causing it.
What do you mean get more plants? I understand the sentiment but wasn't it your last video where you said you needed to downsize your collection? It sounds like mother nature heard you and decided she would decide who should go since you couldn't. Are you going to be one of those plant girlies that you talk dirt about?
Omg the way you all call me out lol 😂 I have sold off some of my plants and now I’m just gonna get some more to fill up that space 🤭. The never ending circle that we crazy plant people embark on
Godspeed Sisyphus!
Bring out youre nerm oil !
@@lavonpowell854 oh neem oil doesn’t work against this lot
I used systemic 3 times a year to keep bugs away. So sorry this happened to you.🪴Happy Planting🌿
