I live in Shanghai and just bought a P7 in January. It’s been a few months now. Trust me, the car is fantastic. I like it way better than Tesla and Nio. The interior is futuristic and minimalist, luxurious feel. Lots of high tech built into the car. I love the dual screens, right on my eye-line, way better than the vertical screen mostly below the eye-line in a Tesla S. The voice interface is superb. The autonomous driving just as good as Tesla. And the auto parking is so smooth. It included so much bells and whistles without charging an arm and leg in options. For $3000, it throws in the autonomous driving package. I got the 670km version and it actually drives about 500km. All this comes down to ~$46k USD. A great car for the money.

I think that they released a new update to the voice control system. It can recognize a conversation in between passengers and actual executable instructions. So you can command it to do something and talk to your friend and go back to talking to the car without the need of repeating the magic trigger word. And it’s actually very reliable to the point where you basically don’t need to touch the screen for anything. But still wow I am impressed with ur Chinese, I am always more impressed when a foreigner speaks fluent mandarin than a Chinese speaking English, cuz Chinese is so complicated to learn.
Wow. This update is REALLY impressive. Considering there are regional accent differences in Chinese, and the host is not speaking in Beijinese accent, I was REALLY blown away by the voice comment. And the solutions suggested by the system is really impressive too. You can imagine having a conversation with the AI.

Man, China has really really achieved a lot in EV! It can seriously compete with Tesla if Europe allows this company to sell. In fact, it can beat Tesla in markets where Tesla cars are expensive.
Tesla model 3 looks is outdated. Have to give Elon credit, for starting early with EV's. But, also got a ton of help from US government. Without the Carbon Credits, Tesla would still be losing money.

Thank you for the positive feedback! Charging infrastructure remains an issue, I especially for those who can’t charge at home. But huge strides have been made, so charging is more and more widely available. At this point, owning an electric car in a city like Shanghai is a very feasible option.

But since there over 300 dialects within the Chinese/Han language, including Mandarin and Cantonese. Telling people that you speak Chinese is not strictly correct. In terms of written language, you can say I can write Chinese. However, there are traditional Chinese, simplified Chinese, as well as Cantonese, which has slang characters that only Cantonese speakers will understand. That is as about as simple as I can explain it to you.

Korean cars are not very popular now, they're over the hill in China. Loniq 5 was unobtainable in Chinese marke. I believe that more and more Chinese EVs into the Canadian Marke over the next few years , particularly BYD

We’re seeing more and more of both models here in Shanghai. Not sure about the LIDAR systems, but we’re hearing rumors of an upcoming new sedan from XPeng and maybe it’ll have LIDAR tech (but you didn’t hear that from us).
Have more and more in the more developed cities especially in Guangdong Province where Xpeng factory located, they had applied LIDAR tech on their new cheaper sedan P5.
Some small constructive criticism, if you don't mind: Keep your left arm at a comfortable 90-ish degree angle and make your hand into a loose fist if you're not using that hand (kind of like news anchors do when they're standing). Now you kind of leave it "dangling" besides you and it looks like it's dead which gives you an odd appearance. Otherwise very nice and informative video!

Nice Company and car, I went to china in 2019 anf take a look on xpeng. I was surprised about the price and quality, is pretty good. The p7 looks cool as well - I like the shape of the side windows looks a bit like Aston Martin. Thanks for that Review, hope Xpeng is available soon in germany.
It's always an interesting design problem the way a sedan's trunk shut line cuts through a tail light assembly...I see here the Chinese haven't solved the problem with everything not lining up too well ...
I have a very old car with no fancy LCD screens. I wonder how those screens function in cold conditions. I live in a place where it can get very cold (below -30 C in the winter) and wonder if the screens will survive the outdoors when the car is parked overnight?
They will work fine, most consumers products can function in -80c. That battery loses around 40% of its range but if you keep it plugged in you can have internal heaters keeping the battery warm an at full range. A gas car is a bit more vulnerable especially if the diesel gels up or if the 12v battery on them dies.
I am still on the fence on which car I'll buy once my old one is worn out. But I'm pretty sure it will be an electric, IF I can figure out the practical things, like where to mount a charger at home and make sure that the car will not be damaged by the cold.
@@Antares2 all batteries are vulnerable to cold but some do better than others, tesla introducing new cells and battery system next year that appears to be more durable than anything else on the market. But your right about home charging, you need a lot 240v connections. Tesla and others offer installation.

On my humble opinion, Xpeng P7 is one of the most beautiful EVs in the world.

Nice Company and car, I went to china in 2019 anf take a look on xpeng. I was surprised about the price and quality, is pretty good. The p7 looks cool as well - I like the shape of the side windows looks a bit like Aston Martin. Thanks for that Review, hope Xpeng is available soon in germany.

I have a very old car with no fancy LCD screens. I wonder how those screens function in cold conditions. I live in a place where it can get very cold (below -30 C in the winter) and wonder if the screens will survive the outdoors when the car is parked overnight?
Ev are really not suited for cold climate if you dont own a garage. The battery drain will be very bad.
They will work fine, most consumers products can function in -80c. That battery loses around 40% of its range but if you keep it plugged in you can have internal heaters keeping the battery warm an at full range. A gas car is a bit more vulnerable especially if the diesel gels up or if the 12v battery on them dies.
I am still on the fence on which car I'll buy once my old one is worn out. But I'm pretty sure it will be an electric, IF I can figure out the practical things, like where to mount a charger at home and make sure that the car will not be damaged by the cold.
@@Antares2 all batteries are vulnerable to cold but some do better than others, tesla introducing new cells and battery system next year that appears to be more durable than anything else on the market. But your right about home charging, you need a lot 240v connections. Tesla and others offer installation.
