Great great advice, thank you so much! Such a simple concept with huge implications; ensures truly competitive shot AND fixes fundamental errors!

A whole new approach but very very logical and as you well say, by that you can't lie your tennis skills or your tennis level. It will tell you the truth right to your face unlees you correct what's necessary.

Makes perfect sense.. swing as fast as you can until you’re able to keep the ball in play. You are saying your form will improve if you find the fastest swing path. It’s all a matter of much trial and error.

It’s close but not exactly what I was trying to say. It’s a crucial skill but it also a great test for the quality of your technique. Fast swing speed will NOT allow any mistakes to be hidden. One correction to your point, without proper coaching it will be pretty much impossible or at very least extremely lengthy. It will not serve as a teaching tool as to what needs to corrected in your form. It will merely indicate that there is a problem and it’s up to your coach or you to identify the problem and find solutions as to how to quickly fix it

If my forehand occasionally goes into the bottom of the net, do you think my wrist and arm pronate incorrectly. I saw a slow-mo of Federer's forehand and it seemed the racket fae angle didn't close right after contact like I believe mine does. Would love to hear your insight.

@@jeffreybartlett4899 hey Jeff, thanks for commenting. What I think is happening, and to say for sure I’ll have to look at your video, is the racket is spending too little time on the ball. It sounds like because you are so concerned about keeping the strength closed, you are sacrificing that follow through time that gives you ability to control the ball. Strings do have to be slightly closed to create spin and that’s your wrist job. However, in addition to that your shoulder has to carry the ball on the strings for about 12-18 inches. If that distance is too short, which from your description sounds like it is, the ball doesn’t have enough energy or direction to fly over the net and into the desired corner. If you send me a short video of your forehand, I can tell you for sure in just a few seconds.

If you don’t understand the theory, you don’t have a foundation. I’m also gonna guess you are not a world class player (I’d guess 3-3.5) if you think like that. Anyone who is higher level would know what I’m talking about, Starting with uncle Tony 💪
