The Russian System: Serve Practice Techniques
I like this video. For me, my whole world of hitting an accurate serve was when I had the technique to hit pain free, and particularly the slice out wide - like wide wide where you have to toss the ball way out in front and to the right a little and crush the side of ball. It was also because on the slice you can sort of toss the ball to the right and therefore your shoulder has a lot more space and is less likely to get hurt, which is where my serve accuracy problems start - stiff shoulders, which leads to me hesitating on my serve which is the mother of problems when it comes to hitting targets. From there I could quickly adapt it to hit the flat serve out wide on the other side - even using the same toss as the slice serve… my point is that serve accuracy in my personal journey started with the big ass slice out wide, and just 100% getting that right before focusing on the other targets. For me, it just unlocks everything, and I think other players have their own method to get that confidence too
Good instruction. Wrist cocked. Didn't know that. Thanks.
So simple. I will be doing it! Thanking you.
Great great advice, thank you so much! Such a simple concept with huge implications; ensures truly competitive shot AND fixes fundamental errors!
A whole new approach but very very logical and as you well say, by that you can't lie your tennis skills or your tennis level. It will tell you the truth right to your face unlees you correct what's necessary.
so why are russians better in tennis?
Nobody interested to understand theory in tennis rather you show something 😂
If you don’t understand the theory, you don’t have a foundation. I’m also gonna guess you are not a world class player (I’d guess 3-3.5) if you think like that. Anyone who is higher level would know what I’m talking about, Starting with uncle Tony 💪
No bullshit and facts only. Subscribed.
Only talk no action.
Swing and a miss (pun intended). If you want action, watch atp tour on tv
I like it. I need to spend more time on serves and targets in my lessons. Most of the time in my serve lessons is spent on developing proper technique. But I need to spend some time on targets too. I taught for Russian tennis academy, Gorin, in California. You heard of Dmitry Tursunov? He was one of the best juniors in the world. So strong. Nice guy too.
yes, I know him but im not sure he knows me. I was supposed to play him once but he defaulted. I know of that academy too. Serve is a hard one to teach. So many elements that all need to there at the same time :)
Yes, of course! I was supposed to play him once but he defaulted 🙁
That’s half of the ready position. I like it so far.
How reps/sets should I do of these?
Hi, Depends on your fitness level. If you haven’t done these before, then I would start with one set of each and gradually build up. LMK if you have any more questions. Also, on my website www.therussiansystem.com I have some fitness sessions of some pros, I think you will find it inspiring and maybe get an exercise or two out those as well
@@RocknRollTennisCamps omg thank you so much!
Finally a great tennis video with a great ready position. Not the old school way that makes you look ridiculous!
