- Recently Assam govt announced a two child policy as a population control measure. From 2021, you cannot get a government job if you have more than two children. Across India, many MPs in the parliament have been demanded a nationwide two child policy or a population control bill as a solution to the overpopulation. Can it really be a solution? What can the be the negative and positive outcomes of it? I analyse these questions using examples from history and statistics.

Why isn't adoption of kids from orphanages promoted in our country?
Promoting it will change the mindset and more and more ppl might start adopting kids instead of producing them.
The standard mindset - apna khoon apna hota he na 🤦 is why adoption is not encouraged

@KnowledgeHub yes, in Israel a family has 3.1 children on average and they're developed. In Romania families have 1.4 children on average and they're poor. Children don't affect a country negatively. Educate your children and its good for the country, don't educate your children and then it's bad for our country.

We need 2-child policy (not 1-child policy) because:
● Tfr of 2 doesn't indicate that all are having 2 children since some of them could be unmarried or having 0 or 1 or 3 children.
● North India has higher fertility than South India
● Some districts have TFR of 4,5,6 still in rural Bihar, UP, Bengal, Rajasthan
● Demographic imbalance occurs when there is difference between fertility rates of communities
● Hindi is being imposed because Hindi people are becoming a majority and non-Hindi citizens feel alienated
● We have only one earth and limited resources
● India is losing original forests rapidly
● Humanity has better work than just producing babies like dogs
● First provide housing for poor people before increasing population
● Quality is more important than quantity

China has even more population than India and it has pulled 80 million people out of poverty using power of its population. Population is actually good. India will keep growing until 2050 and starts to reduced after 2070 before India must convert it's population to human resources. Use it in manufacturing and services like China and make money , use social policies and raise living standards if people. That's the only hope for India. We need 2 child policy for sure. The people who are educated and having high literacy rates are self aware of the negative impacts. But the people who are illiterate will keep on increasing the population. Educational development is must. But it will take time. If this rate is keep on continuing as it is in those states then no one can save India from over population, unemployment. So I think the government took a good initiative there

1. the population growth will decrease and become constant
2. poor people who already are at the stage of family making, they cannot be educated further now, and if they now again make 6-7 kids their living standards will detoriate even more, even if gov introduce schemes to educate children, their higher level education cannot really be accomplished because of lack of money.
However if this poor family makes only 2 babies they will be able to maintain a proper living standard if both mom and dad work, further these new government schemea for education and employment will help the 2 kids even more to grow and get educated!
these policies will basically act as a catalyst to educate people and to give them jobs :3
