I think this country should have max of 60-80 crores but above 1 billion is huge as we don't have enough resources to sustain this much huge population.

Climate change will do the honors of liberating earth of lot of humans not just in India but elsewhere too. It is already in progress and currently affecting 1 to 2% people globally and is awaiting to turn to climate chaos in not so distant future (within next 2 decades when global temperature hits 1.5°c) and that % will shoot up to 50%. Whether you and me are in that 50%, nature will decide 😏

My grandparents had 5 children(1947-62)
These 5 children produced another 8 children (1976-2002)
And the 8 children produced only 3 more kids.

This is not Becos of population ..its becos of corruption .. Many colleges many schools, many Airports ect ect ect etc but lots of black money... They don't give seats on merit . They sell seats... That too they won't accept cheque payment. They want only cash.

We should look into the population from an employment perspective.. In near future most jobs will be automated and controlled by AI or robots. Hence in my opinion decline in population should not be a worry.
Also we have to look at earth's limited resources. Even though we talk about a sustainable future we are far far away from reaching the same and hence decrease in population is a positive sign.

Developed and educated countries fertility rate is declining while most of undeveloped and uneducated islamic countries have 3.0+ fertility rate. This while create a massive problem in future because uneducated and non productive population is increasing in the whole world.

Because those 'some' think looting India is their birthright. How dare a common man have benefits from his tax money? How will poor people like Ambani and Adani or our weak politicians enjoy their lives?
It's not about Delhi alone- it's about other states like Punjab.
Delhi has a massive thriving middle class- so they pay a huge amount of taxes, and free electricity etc serve as fiscal stimulus for them- increasing their spending and boosting the economy.
But Kejriwal is literally saying to states- give me votes and I'll giving you things for free.
That's not how it should be. You can see the condition of Punjab. It worked in Delhi, and it WILL, but in other states with smaller middle classes, it won't work.

In most of the developed states of india population is already balanced. But I think, there should be population controll bill in backward states like bihar, uttar pradesh, bengal so that per capita income of this state can also increase ☹️
Bengal?? Are you mentally imbalanced? Our fertility rate is 2.1.
It is very tough to implement Population control bill at state level. How will you track domicile state of parents what ways will you disincentivize couples having more than the mandated number of offsprings, it is not simple to regulate inter-state migration and many couples have different domicile states between husband and wife.
At national level you can say that the policy applies for all who hold 'Indian citizenship'. So an effective population control bill can and must be for the whole nation.
Either way the states which have more or less balanced population will not get affected much by 2 children per mother rule as they already have an average below 2.
Or in a case where this fails at one end we may see Population control/stabilization in states with high growth (UP, Bihar) but on the other a population decline in states that are already below the replacement rate in avg fertility. A solution to his is encourage inter-state migration, simple..more people from UP, Bihar should be made to migrate to states with low TFR like Bengal, Gujarat, Tamil, Kerala etc. to balance out population levels all across the nation.
It is already clear that population control doesn't work population advantage is the key.

Sir we have 3 Crore+ orphan children in India and majority of them are not able to get a good future. I believe that we need more quality people than quantity people and that can be done by changing the education system of our country and making basic life needs like education, healthcare, character building, ethical and moral values teaching, skill development training, vocational education, etc more affordable so that everyone gets equal opportunity instead of providing opportunity only for those who are privileged.

Overall population growth in India seems to be very much under control but state wise the situations are different. States like West Bengal, Telengana & UP should focus on it ASAP.

India should only have maximum 500 million people. Too much people means less resources. China being 2nd largest economy with same population as India has unemployment. USA being the largest economy and only 32 cr people still has unemployment. So think of India who has 1.4 billion people and dosen't have economy like China or USA. Govt should have implemented 2 child policy right after 1950

Aakash, do you think we have sufficient resources for all the existing population? I agree with the fact that the population is not exploding. But, don't you think that it has already exploded? Humanity is using nature 1.8x faster than our planet’s biocapacity can regenerate. 50 years ago, people were worried that India's population may cross 1B. Now, we are already sitting at 1.3B. Can't we see the climate changes around us? Overpopulation is a serious issue. The last thing we need is these types of videos. I know politicians are using Overpopulation as an excuse for their failure, but that doesn't mean that it is not real.
Producing more for the Economy is the worst argument that I've ever come across. Humans are not machines whose production should be done just because our factories need more labor. I don't think that the power of nation depends on its population. China's concern about demographic imbalance can easily be conquered by opening borders for the young population and using automation in the workplace.
As far as Elon musk is considered, I don't think we should listen to a businessman whose business is to build the demand for the next planet.
200 years before, the world population was 1B. I don't think the major problem at that time was underpopulation.

Nothing is going to happen all of a sudden. We are talking about decreased fertility rates, not killing people. Even UN report is predicting that our population will increase till next century.
We can't produce more human beings just to pay for old people and govt budgets. Those things are manageable by other means as well.

Still I think india should have population control bihar and uttarpradesh have more than 35 percent population and are still growing rapidly
fertility rate is decreasing and these states where it is high is due to lack of awareness.... so just make people aware and the population is not growing rapidly.... the stats are proving that... and the government needs to shift it's focus on not loosing the talented population.... that would be much better

Pretty sure population is under control in India except some states which in future will also get in control. It's just a natural path every nation follows and we are on it and will complete it soon.

India's population should be reduced to half or less but it's just exploding more and.more. No one wants to save environment and only want to tell how this population is good for economy while China with almost half of India's work force is still beating India in economics sector and India is just explaining how this population will become an asset in future. States like UP and Bihar have high fertilty rate so state govts must take some measures to control it.
UP and Bihar have high unemployment rate. Due to unemployment they are busy in Hindu Muslim politics, boycotts and increasing the population of GOBAR belt BIMARU states.

The state of vikas is such that the govt is counting the bare minimum as it's achievements
India should also launch skill development programs on large scale as Germany and other Europian nations have did in past as a result India can get maximum yield on its demographic divident. The expenditure expansion of Education and Health care is must.
My predecessors had 7 to 9 children. In earlier times they were even more. But due to modern healthcare the survival rate is higher compared to old times. However in recent years couples are producing / giving birth to 2 children. Its rare now that newly weds are producing more than 2. Plus the fertility rate is becoming lower and lower on top of that.
So the population is not accelerating anymore, in fact going forward both fertility and birth rate it will be declining at accelerating rate.
On other hands: higher expenses & unwillingness are additional reasons which will be part of decline.

However soon there will be downfall after the population reaches its peak. Intact at present couples are having less children, intact less people are getting married. Especially in cities.

What should matter is less competition in jobs, affordable housing and ample space to roam walk and raise your kids (if you plan to have) in Greenery, fresh air, water and everything else.
In conclusion, lower the population better the quality of life.
Depopulation may not be good for economy but that's temporary, in the long run it'll be fixed after mortality of older generation and in the long run it'll be the solution to fix global warming and climate change issues that human population has caused we can rewild a lot of land back to nature, how beautiful will that be.

It is statistically not possible. But the rise in population in Bengal is not related to higher birth rate but due to huge exodus from neighbouring states UP and Bihar. Too many Biharis and Bhaiyas in my area. Their number exceeds Bengalis. They come in flocks every year which increases the overall population.
