In our country where education is a basic right and schools are called Vidyamandir, the road to learning has become very twisted. On one side, parents are struggling to put up with the skyrocketing charges while on the other end, the teachers with their meagre salaries are struggling to meet ends.
Big fishes are taking advantage of the loopholes and power to earn huge.
What kind of practices are being followed, how come school owners are earning such huge profits out of non-profit entities, and what are the rights of teachers, students and parents. Are the current government policies doing any good or more harm? Let's discuss.

I have been working for almost 9 years for india. I made a lot of contributions to India. I started working with the Indian Railways project management unit and many more government agencies they are all corrupt I saw them snatching money from contractors even for an ice cream or a lunch i have seen those big babus asking money to a contractor. You won't believe what i have gone through. I have started my career with just 2500 rupees, not the story of 90's it was 2013 think about it engineering graduate as a trainee there was no support. No sympathy for 1000s of people out there making effort trying to change the country. Do we get something in return.
I have a family to feed, who will provide shelter to my parents. I also have responsibilities to fulfill, but what I am getting with that I can never achieve a good life.

@MyCodingDiary have you ever thought of why people are not willing to use their Brian for their own country
There are so Many passionate people out there who want to make efforts, but when you go in and try to do something then you see the reality. Everyone just tries to let you down. The whole system is corrupted with no respect given to people who try to change things. Took me 9 fucking years in India to get to a salary. Where I can easily travel in the metro and don't have to think about the monthly budget.

I am just working with the European company but we are trying a lot to make India better. I am working in the design process of India's longest sea bridge named MTHL in Mumbai. There are many other Indian projects that we are doing, one of them is the Jewar airport.
Sometimes you have to go out of the system to make a big effort.

    I am from Navodaya.
I can purely relate to this..
The quality of teachers and the dedication of teachers in these KVs and NVs are far ahead from any private school.
Also note that the private schools give more than 90% marks to around 40-50 % students of class 9 and below. Which makes the parents think that the school is giving quality education while there is no focus on understanding the logic instead of mugging everything.
I earn quit good nowadays but I can never let my child join a private school.

Thats what my parents did for their status in society, i dont blame them but the culture is like that still, n worst is we used to get abused a lot in that private school. I knew from my childhood they were scamming my parents n i told my parents but they never believed me. I dont understand how these ppl live with themselves after doing all those crimes .may god punish them for those deeds. It was worst place to be, i was child like 5-6 yrs n i ended up there till i was 15-16yr old, i still get nightmare of that place in my 30s😢 so its not only india has that problem, others has worst,as our govt doesnt even have that kind of rules for private schools yet. I heard ppl want to do business by establishing private school, so u can see here, they r not talking abt education, they r talking abt filling their pocket via stupid parents.😪 Dont know when will anybody understand these.

Kendriya Vidhyala and Navodaya are set up and funded by Governments, that’s why they are able to give affordable education.

I saw that not even 5% of the total earning of school is used in its development, many or my classmate and their parents were harrased just harrased because they were unable to pay the fees on time , we weren't even able to go to library and playground due to school timing and still library and sports fees was taken from us. I had a classmate, her father was driver and they were not well off, school peoppe used to come almost every 3rd day to remind her, due to which she first pressurized her father and deteriorated her relationship with her father. Later, she stopped coming to school.
Pathetic, i used to feel bad for her
And i remember, once they called 3-5 students in prayer assembly also and asked them to stand under the sun with standing hands, just to humiliate them.

They even forced us to buy a cheap quality pink coloured bag every year which we didn't use but cost us alot. And except for some teachers, i had to have extra tuition at home. I'm infuriated, i can't believe something so precious and valuable.. that is everyone's basic right ( a good education), was a profit machine for corporations and politicians. yes. I am from KV too. I paid 5 Rs annually for scouts and guide and we had camps and bonfires. Even the whole guide uniform was for 100 Rs. We had musical instruments, TVs, 2 computer labs, yoga and karate instructor and all sports facilities and the fees was just 2000 Rs per year. This is for a school in a small remote town. ❤❤❤ Now my cousin lives in a city attends private school, famous, but does not even have access to labs or even trained teachers. KVs push each child to pursue his or her interest but in private schools it depends upon the parents to give extra efforts and high fees courses to students. KV students go to Youth parliaments, sports tournaments etc. Really proud and grateful

I was a student of navodaya, we never went to any private tuition. Our teachers teach us thoroughly in our classes that for some subjects like English and regional language manipuri we don't need to study again for our exams. In class 10 and 12 no student fails in exam. My father always told me that he can afford private school but if we keep ignoring our government schools and giving importance to private than no one will want to study in government school. After I completed from navodaya many kids from my locality tries for navodaya and others government school

I can relate to this video alot. The school only gives trauma to kid by humiliating for fees. It happened with me too.
In my school they changed the dress of house uniform which we used to wear only on Saturday's. In summer I wore that track suit with upper jacket with open chain and i walked in classroom and my class teacher started shouting at me by saying you don't know how wear this and that. The uniform was new for me too but she didn't understood it and she insulated me in front of everyone. After that the whole class stopped talking to me.
These teachers get very less salary and then they get frustrated and comes to school and torcher them.

I can relate to all that you told. The way my teachers used to make me stand out for not paying fees.. it's depressing I gave exam and got seat in jnv and nevrr looked back
And these so called private schools are not that great in teaching students and when I join my grad I realised all this while they just mugged up and gave exams.. max ppl have never opened their text books, most of them cannot speak up, zero work done for improving their communication skills and I felt so grateful i get to study in a navodaya

They always charges 200/month as a penalty for late submission of fees .They do not allow a single students to appear in exam before clearing their dues . They charge fees for 12 months and school runs only 8-9 months . Many of the parents are compelled to teach their students in this school due to its popularity ,however its infrastructure for outdoor curricular activities is below average .

Along with this, my mother is a pre-primary teacher in a private school as well.
Her in hand salary is not even half of the salary shown on papers.
The amount of exploitation of teachers is way too much. Jitna faaltu ka kaam ek pre primary teacher se karwaaya jaata hai, unki salary hadd se zyada kam hoti hai..

You just hit the nail in the coffin @ Nitish Rajput. Most of the middle class is always worried about the status bias in the society. When you're middle class & the rest of the circle are businessmen, it kills to keep up. At the end of the day, teachers as you said in these schools are also exploited, their interests remain in just doing their job & going home ( as they also have a life) Everyone knows that we have to shell out extra money for tuitions besides the school. We as parents have faced unnecessary fee hikes, in the name of swimming pool which was hardly used( had to pay money for swimming lessons). Then sports facilities hardly used( had to pay for private sports lessons) As it is I think we all pay double fees for everything till a kids school education is over. And then we have stress, pressure & anxiety. Then the hospitals & doctors start exploitation. What a joke & looting of money ( still not been able to buy a house as a middle aged person)with no inheritance of work or home. And the struggle continues. And still grateful for what we have, as so many don't even have what we have🙏🏻

The easiest solution to this problem is that the Govt should allow students to write the 10th and 12th board exams as private candidates. Parents can then either home school the children or have tuitions or start small gurukuls in local Temples or a combination of above three. This will break the education mafia.

Reasonable fees structure, regular inspection of teachers and students, punctuality, healthy competition etc. Currently I am a teacher of a private school, getting low salary, no respect from students and parents. Nitish ji! Thank you for this video Private schools and private hospitals become a business hub. The best part is that everyone knows these things but no one is doing anything to fix them. From local politicians to state govt to central to CBSE everybody knows this but still, it is going on. Today and always I'm very proud to be a KVians.

      Education. Is. Not. A. Business.
Idk why we all forgot this basic fact from our culture.
And coachings atleast provide quality education centered towards a specific goal, jee neet koi bhi aisa imp exam. Bc bacche paise deke nhi padhte, fir kehte h coaching dhandha h.
