i was hoping to see your finished painting project. The comment someone else made a while ago that we like your company so much , that we will watch you cut up pumpkins, well we like to watch you paint too' I admire your energy and how if you run into problems you cheerfully work around them.Glad I found your channel its my favorite now.
Yes, will we get the final reveal on the grow room soon??? It's been a few episodes... Would love to see the new room! 😀
@Meggs23 She posted on a post that after her Valentine's treat video she will post that video. 😊
Aw thanks so much!! It's done so as soon and Valentine's day is over and supper bowl it will come out :)
I had rice in my supper bowl tonight.
I've had sweet potatoes in the window sill for two weeks and they are now sprouting, it does take a long time.
I buy the bag of six avocados at Costco. I let them stay on the counter for a few days to ripen. Then I peel and de-seed them all. I mash them like potatoes, then scoop them with a cookie scoop and freeze them. Then I have avocado pucks for whenever I need them. The color stays green and they taste great. I’m ready to make guacamole anytime.
Adeline Zook on RUclips gave a GREAT tip for fresh eating avocados-take a ripe (or near ripe) avocado and put in a mason jar filled with cold water. Keep in fridge and they last for a month - I’ve tried and it absolutely works! She has a really good channel too.
I'm hooked. I can't miss an episode of this enjoyable channel! Anyone else?
Tart cherry juice also has anti-inflammatory properties and is good for arthritis and gout.
Becky, my grandparents were dairy farmers and my mom always got whole raw milk from a dairy close to us. She used the cream off the milk in her cooking and coffee all the time. That was one of the reasons she got that milk. She saved on her grocery bill by getting cream off the top of the milk, making her own half and half, and then the milk. She showed us that she got 3 products out of the raw milk. She also made butter as well.
That cream on the milk will be just fine in your baking. Mom used it for everything because we had cows.
Love Becky! I was going thru lots of depression and even tried overdosing and I started watching you Becky now I got a garden and it's my comfort place. Thankyou you don't know how much you helped me ❤
❤
Was in the same boat. When I found her she lights up my daywith every post I get
Congratulations on gardening, it makes me feel wonderful when I can share my extra veggies.
@@paulablackwell3463 I noticed I got these big beautiful broccoli growing and peas and I planted garbanzo beans and they are sprouting 😁
I’m so happy you’re still with us. Sending huge hugs from San Diego 🥰
When you open, the anchovy is, you can freeze the rest
I like to keep them in the freezer and add to whatever I want to add umami to. Stew, meatloaf, Caesar dressing, spaghetti sauce are all good options
Besides loving your authentically happy approach to life and cooking, I have discovered your viewers’ comments. So many excellent tips! I have heard you acknowledge these many times but only started reading them recently. What a productive, caring community you have gathered, Becky. Thank you.
I agree! I really enjoy the comments!
I have tried to do sweet potato slips for a long time. I haven't had any luck . Last spring vi watched many videos. One just planted the sweet potatoes half way in the soil the long way. So I tried that. It never vines out but did grow leaves. I thought it was a failure but when I dug it up underneath was full of small sweet potatoes. It was so surprising.
The way it works is you plant the sweet potato halfway in the soil, and when the leaves come out, you let them grow a little bit, then break them off at the potato and put them in water. You grow them in water to let the roots grow out, then you plant them outside in the soil. Then the sweet potatoes grow under the soil. Make sure the soil is loose and fluffy.
@@cynthiafisher9907I've grown a sweet potato jungle with this method. Works SO well.
Rose Red Homestead has a great video on making sun dried tomatoes. I have done them for the past 2 years - they are delicious!
I gathered pink cone flower seeds from my library’s garden and threw them on my hill. They covered a huge section in just a year!
What part of the country are you in?
I use reusable silicone bags for garlic pucks and roasted garlic pucks (thanks to you) and I write such on the reusable baggies and only use them for that purpose. No waste.
Please can you show us the finished or finishing the refresh of your seed room? You inspired me so much with that project. ( you always inspire me but especially with that one! )
It will be out after the Valentines day candies and cookies comes out :)
I’ve always grown sweet potatoes by cutting out/off around the eyes on the potato, put the toothpicks in them and put them on a jar fill of water, the toothpicks hold the bits of potatoes, eye side down & when there’s roots coming out of them it’s time to plant them & the new potatoes form along the roots 👍🥔🥔🥔🥔🇦🇺💖🦘🥰💖🇦🇺 (then you don’t waste the sweet potatoes, you can still eat the rest that didn’t have eyes on it.
I drink a little tart cherry juice daily. Without some sort of sweetner it is really sour! I just use a little liquid stevia, a little juice and fill my cup with water. So refreshing. So are the meyer lemons and water with a little sweetner. Meyer lemons are so good!
I usually have a cilantro "tree" in my fridge. If you place the bunch in a glass jar and treat them like fresh flowers. Reince them well and cut the stems nicely, put in water in a jar and put in the fridge, it lasts up to a month. If it’s getting old, change the water and resnip the ends
😮! Thanks for the tip! 😘
Thank you for the tip. I don't use it that much, so using it for several days in a row is very highly unlikely. I tried it on my counter a while back due to lack of fridge space; it didn't work, it dried up.
I love the splash of green in your kitchen window
I wish You & Josh would do another Live. We’d love to hear what His/Your thoughts are on the new House, garden as well as what yall future plans are for the homestead ❤
I only buy Argentinian red shrimp if possible. The have a taste that is a cross of shrimp and lobster. So yummy. Kroger carries the frozen one all the time.
Tart cherry juice is full of melatonin as well as regular fresh cherries. That's why it helps you sleep and magnesium relaxes your central nervous system
Oh interesting! Thanks so much for that info
@@AcreHomesteadyou have to take it before bed, not in the middle of the day.
Magnesium is needed for over 400 things in the body.
Glycinated magnesium works best for your body to break down. As research says.
I can't live without my magnesium at the end of every night. It has helped me get off of my bp meds.
Tart cherry juice, straight up, one small juice glass, helps anyone struggling with gout.
So excited for the valentine baking episode ♡
I hope you enjoy it! I just finished editing it :)
Me too!
I keep waiting for the second half of the seed room but it never comes lol
@@adb3677After the Valentines one, she said.
Lots of love and hugs fro. Galway, Ireland. I love watching your videos Becky, your enthusiasm is infectious, good luck and well done ❤🎉xx
Thank you so much!
Just love watching your videos! I have learned a lot about canning and preserving. Thanks Becky! ❤️
I put the green onions in a mason jar with water... root end down of course, in the refrigerator it helps them stay fresh longer.
🌷🌷🌷 I did that, onion grown in water, as we have been doing a 3 week pantry challenge because is has been -50 to -70 the past 2.5 weeks. So have not been to town and the store.😊
If you want to try the dirt thing again at some point, don’t bury them. I always do my slips in dirt. I just lay them on the dirt and kind of squish them down a little. Keep them watered, in bright light on a heat mat and they sprout great. I’ve never been able to get the water method to work.
I always plant mine in dirt like you do. I place them on a heat mat because they love the heat. I’ve heard that the Japanese sweet potatoes are delicious. I want to try planting some this year if I can find some. Maybe at an Asian Market. But they may not be organic there. I’ll check out Trader Joe’s too.
You make great company for me while I am working in the kitchen ❤️
Wow, that view today from your kitchen window today is beautiful! Thanks for the spring mix and avacodo tips!
I was blessed last year when I went to a sweet potato farm looking to purchase slips. The owner was so sweet and simply gave me about 36 slips! They weren’t huge, but the yield was excellent, and there are some still in my pantry. Looks like I will start those slips tomorrow! Thank you for the motivation! ❤
Thanks for sharing.
Riesling is not normally sweet, it is harvested from the 1st grapes starting the harvesting season, the weet ones are the last harvest with the most sun.
New subscriber recently and now I can't wait for your next post. Ive been going back and watching older videos too! Love your channel ❤️
Aw welcome! Thanks so much for being here!
It’s a sad day when you’ve watched them all…😊
HI Becky, glad you took us along shopping and showing all you got, it was fun. Thanks for sharing.
We LOVE our shishitos! Started growing them after seeing Jess cook with them. ❤
Great video. Happy gardening.❤
Hi Friend! Thank you for being you and sharing your videos!💕🕊
I sure do wish I was among your loved ones so I could get some of those “Becky Treats ”😊😊
If you cut your green onions and place the bottoms in water they will grow back for you to cut again. You then can plant in soil inside and have fresh green onions we have gotten about four clippings so far
Ya I have all kinds of those snap lids storage bins they work so good
I stick my sweet potatoe leaves straight into water from my plants..they grow quickly & make nice indoor plants too, in the gloomy winter days
I put paper towel in lettuce clamshell too. Sometimes I put the lettuce in a big salad spinner and put in the frig and that seems to work too.
Excited to see what you have in store for us. 🌱🌻🌱
You did good during the pantry challenge. Inspired me so much, I joined and also emptied a lot in my own pantry. I went shopping two days ago and it was much needed. ❤
I look forward 2 seeing your nail colors change & what you'll go with next. You keep them looking so nice!!
I love watching you and you always make me smile, you make my day !! Keep being you !!
Love the inspirations! Hello from The Caribbean (this week, at least). Wishing you a successful candy making extravaganza! I love your videos, so many great ideas! Thank you.😊

Please never stop making them❤❤
I absolutely love your channel ❤️ I'm disabled and I love watching u.. You're a wonderful woman and I get excited when I see you put a new video up.... Thank you for being you...
I made your bread this weekend. I made one loaf and rolls with the 2nd half. So easy and huge hit with my family. Thank you for testing and getting a perfect recipe for us. Blessings!
Oh man I love Julia Childs! Can’t wait for you to try her recipes!
Love your channel. I’m a big fan. It’s so refreshing to show your highs and lows, failures as well as wins. Keep on being you. That’s why I watch.
My mom used to grow sweet potatoes n also when they root they make beautiful house plants
You are just full of positive energy !!
So excited to begin this year’s garden journey along side you! ❤
Yay! Thank you! I can't wait for this year as well!
Tart cherry juice is great for people with arthritis, it helps with decreasing pain and increasing mobility.
I did not know that and I suffer with arthritis in my hands. THank you!!
Wow!! I'm going to try this. I have arthritis in my hands, knees, hips, and spine. I've tried so many different things but something tells me the tart cherry juice will help! 🙏🏼
@@jodifinnegan4453 I just got some today at Trader Joe’s, praying it will work.
Ooo thank you Becky!!!! I always purchase mixed greens for my husband's sandwiches for work and I didn't ever think about putting paper towels in the container!!!! I'm going to do that now! Thank you for that wonderful tip!!!!!!! ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
🫡You are such a Boss 💕 I look forward to watching the cookie recipes and appetizers you mentioned. I appreciate your friendly energy and your approach to your channel. You’re truly one of a kind. Wishing you and your family continued wellbeing and good fortune ✨
We do the mocktail every night but we use a magnesium powder and stir it into the drink. Its really good,, we got pretty glasses to drink them in!
Yayayay! 😊 I just caught up and watched your shopping!!! Love love love your vids! Thank you for sharing all you do! Blessings on you and your family! ❤
Thank you! You too!
We freeze dry our cilantro and works great when cooking and not worrying about if they are good or not
Enjoy all of your videos. Very helpful.
NICE SHOPPING, GOOD JOB PEACE AND PEACE WITH BLESSINGS 🙏 ❤
Blessed Tuesday Becky❤👍
Thanks for the bagged lettuce leaves tip, love your channel Becky,I'm going to try growing some veg again this year 🥰
great video Becky as always some nice produce, what a good idea with the sweet potatoes. many thanks for sharing with us. xxx
I add the gochujang & the flakes to just about everything now. It's delicious in Mac & cheese, mix in a little soybean paste as well. My daughter bought me Aaron's cookbook, from Aaron & Claire, on RUclips. Now I keep on hand constantly.
Hey Becky! You should try one in soil as well to see which gives you the best slips. I love doing mine in soil now!
Good video. Thank you. Blessings
Love it so much what you do. 😊💕
Thank you! 😊
I have been looking forward to this! Love your videos, so much!❤
Hope you enjoy!
I love that idea for Valentines Day Family love so nice it's heartwarming just a nice thing ❤lovely ideas and meals to come
Yes! Thank you!
I have never put avocados in the fridge! I always thought that fruit doesn’t belong in the fridge because it will never ripen. I am so glad you brought this lil hint on avocados! Thanks, Becky! 🤗
Thanks for everything you do for us, Becky.. I started my seeds 2 days ago. Still doing it add. I think I will do sweet potatoes. Now that I know how.
Wonderful! Thanks so much! I can't wait for this years garden!
My family went to the local store. I casually mentioned i wanted to look at the seeds. My husband and 5 year old picked out so many flower seeds. Excited for our garden this year
I’m excited to see your recipes with gochujang. I’m trying to make more Asian dishes this year since they’re my favorite.
That view over your kitchen siiiiiink! 😍🤌
Becky, I've found that if I put some soil in a bottom seed starting tray that doesn't have holes and put the sweet potatoes in the long way with soil covering no more than half way up the potato, I get more slips.
Next year for pantry challenge, you should use your grow room to grow green onions, herbs, Microdwarf tomatoes, and greens. If you plan ahead and start early enough, you’ll have some fresh things to supplement your pantry challenge. And your grow room is sitting empty all fall and early winter anyway.
I use gochujang in a marinade for steak or beef short ribs, with some miso paste and mirin, equal parts, marinade over night and grill them for lunch so delicious
Rose red homestead makes a wonderful sun dried tomato. I've been making it for the past two years. She goes through step by step so you can't go wrong. Hope you give it a try ❤❤❤❤
Yay. Let’s see what all we get to look forward to. Love ya Becky ❤❤❤
Oh you’re going to love the Korean pepper paste for sauces and soups!!! I use it all the time!!!
Never had luck with snapping lids. The don't last as long but Dollar Tree's large plastic cylinder containers with round lids lasted for years. Unfortunately they don't sell the taller ones anymore but smaller ones are still available.
Great haul! You will love growing shishito peppers!
Becky...You and your vlogs make me happy. Love watching your content.
I'm so looking forward to watching more of your vlogs! Found you via algorithm just yesterday and I'm a huge fan already!
Also looking forward to seeing what Valentine's Day fun you cook up. Valentine's Day just so happens to be my birthday and as a result, I'm a big fan of the day 🥰
The tart cherry juice and the magnesium works . I take it every night and get better sleep. ❤❤❤
Thanks Becky!
Becky you can cut pieces of the potatoes with eyes and put them straight in the ground. Though yours looks very fresh and yummy to eat.
Sweet!! It's Beck's.
Becky the sweet potato has a beautiful vine. I use to grow them in the house.
The Thai Chili salad is one of our favorites! I think you’ll like it!
Becky you can get a whole lot more slips by laying them in soil and letting the entire potato sprout.
Sweet sentiment, lovely tradition ❤. I will def tune in for when Becky makes the 🍭🍬 candy 😊
Yesterday we got 12 out of 16 eggs from our hens. Lowest number yet this winter. The shortened days and cooler weather has finally gotten to them. It is 69 degrees here in TX and our Tomatoe plants have grown their 2nd set of leaves so they are almost ready to pot up to the next size before planting outside. I also wrap my ball of lettuce in papertowel then wrap in tin foil and it will last over a month in my fridge.
Becky, the best way to grow sweet potato slips is by putting the potatoes in shallow soil- it works so fast! I got dozens of slips that way that kept coming for months. You have to try it!!
I put a potato in a shallow dish and filled it with soil until it was half covered. Then just keep it watered and it will start producing slips in no time!
Tart Cherry is good for joint pain.
Can’t wait to see you finish painting the grow room!,,
The TJ's mustards are the best! We always have in hand and several jars of each in the pantry as we go through a LOT! Best use is my husband puts a couple of tablespoons of each in his potato salad and it is Deelish.
