The dogs are trained to detect gunpowder/explosive devices. We had a run-in at Ohare Airport five years ago. My son had a backpack that he had used to go target shooting. The dog stopped us in the TSA line. Needless to say, it was quite a spectacle. They took all six of us to another area for a long inspection that included swabbing the backpack. So don't bring a backpack that had bullets in it and was not washed out to the airport. Great video thanks!

I agree with you on catching “Grab” 🚕 I had a bad experience years ago with a taxi driver there. And I’m Filipino! But my Tagalog is poor. Always catch a Grab. Or If I catch a taxi on a short trip, and the driver is friendly, I’ll ask his cellphone number. And text him if available for another ride. Everything is negotiable my friend! 🇺🇸🇵🇭
1) Re taxis: There are accredited Yellow Airport taxis. You can book them directly outside the arrival hall and you don't need a SIM card. They are more reliable and honest than the ordinary white taxis. I've used them for years and have never been "scammed ". 2) Security is really exaggerated in the Philippines. There are uniformed guards, K9 dogs, and even body x-ray scanners in major hotels. Guards search your bags at the entrances in shopping malls. You don't see that in most first world countries like Japan and the US.
Security will never be too exaggerated in airports, porrs, etc..have you been to Changi in Singapore? The difference is that in SG, Japan, Taiwan, etc., security checks are more technologically advanced. Also, a deterrent for mass shootings in malls, clubs, groceriea and schools.

Security in world-class airports are more technological and less physical. I'm sure there are lots and lots of video monitors and so there are fewer human security guards in the ports, airports, malls, etc . in Singapore. But in the Philippines, we still have to rely more on physical guards and dogs. And actual searches of your bags, etc.
You must be greatful that your safety is being taken care of rather than not at all and just let you by yourself facing those possible dangers that might happen.
Glad you made it safe Alex! - Kinda struck me as odd how the hotel's 2nd floor hallway was so big and spacious; complete with multiple sitting areas (like multiple living rooms) but the room itself was so small. You'd think they'd prioritize room size over hallways. Who sits in a hallway?? Lol...

Taxi mafia operate at Manila airport. I fly to that airport 6-10 times a year same thing every time. A lot of grab drivers will cancel the ride because they’re actually operated by the airport mafia. Ask a car waiting and the fare is 3-400% the price
