Been in Tagaytay 25 years ago and it's now too populated and to near a active volcano. Been in Mactan, Cebu about 15 years ago and same. Traffic was terrible, too many people there. So since 10 years ago I'm living in Bukidnon: Better cooler climate than Tagaytay, lots of nature and less population. No active volcanoes, no floods, and abundance of fresh water and food. There are no safety issues and the Living cost could hardly be lower.

It's amazing to see AMC doing well after all the doomsday analyses from naysayers. The stock market is a device for transferring money from the impatient to the patient - warren buffet. It's good to remind people of this right now; you buy on fear and sell on greed or just hold through it all for the long term. It’s easy but lots of people forget.

There is more things to do BY FAR in and around Angeles. House helper is getting not as cool as said as many from the provinces, because of social media, look for greener pasture. Trust issue is a real issue these days wherever you are. Still, just check on this, mindanao has many equally great potential retirement places.

thanks for this vlog. very informative. I'm planning on moving there in a couple years with my son and his filipina wife and kids. Once there, my son will build a house, but I'd like to move on my own, and have been researching for months places like Cebu and Dumaguete, and Iloilo city area. Now I'll research the Tagaytay area. Being I'm already 72, I'd like to be able to get to medical assistance if needed, so close to good hospitals would be a determining factor. keep up the good work. much appreciated.

yes I see it like you, I have a house 66 km away from Cebu and I love it. It is just important to decide whether you prefer a city life or provincial life. I could not imagine to be in the city. Too poluted, too much crime and too much traffic. But everyone is different.

@@karlthetrader I agree with, the main thing I am thinking is if I need big hospital close by just in case I need to check in for health issues. If hospitals were more adequate in the province, I would for sure live there. Now Manila, too crowded now with big Airport and Cebu, not to crowded with big Airport. I am skiddish to live in Davao for obvious security concerns from me.

@@TheSavvyExpat Hey Even, Well not that I've explored many places in the Philippines yet, I will say this of Iloilo it's a really nice little city, it's got great malls, restaurants, beaches beautiful scenery if you if you head out into the Island to some of the more romote areas like Capiz which I love it's really beautiful up there about an hour from the city. You're also close to Boracay and Gamaras Islands, Gamaras is supposed to be wonderful during Mango season, great resorts both islands as well as around the Island of Panay in general. As far as living, things are on the cheaper side being your away from Luzon probably similar to what you'd find in Duma. Seems to have great dental and medical care there from what my wife tells me thankfully I've not had to make use of that yet during our visits. There's also quite a bit of really nice gated communities popping up near Iloilo city. Definitely worth future expats to visit and consider as a potential retirement place. Can't wait to get back and vlog from there. There's a lot more to Panay, it's definitely a hidden gem I'd say. Take care, God bless! 🕊️

I think Dumaguete will be a good retirement place for those who are in the mid-60s to 70s+. For expats (among the 3 top places for retirement for expats). Cebu City will be more attractive as it is more cosmopolitan with more modern amenities, yet near the nice beaches and resorts. Actually, it really depends on your lifestyle. Sir, it appears that this guy has a lot of people fooled. He is doing this video from Philippines. Go back and carefully watch the background, especially the traffic. Everything he shows in this video can be found from internet or other streaming sources. He even admits, that he can't properly pronounce the names of some of the cities and locations he profiling. Most Filipinos can pronounce their native language words. If he is from Chicago and being as young as he is, how would he know the prices people are paying? The answer is, if you watch other vlogers, you will learn exactly what they say they are paying. He probably can't speak any Filipino language dialects. Notice that he uses mostly American props and sceneries. The cabins he profiled for the Tagaytay area are of north American style and not of Philippines architecture. Where in Philippines would you find tumbleweeds? No where! My wife is Filipina from Philippines, not from America, she feels he is not in Philippines. I was born at night, but not last night!!!

We built our nice little house on land we got from my wife's family. Total cost was about 300,000 pesos ($5400USD). Now there is no rent, we eat simple Filipino food, and live comfortably on 30k pesos ($540USD) per month. There are completely different dynamics but it is an option for many.

If you are still young and active and want to go to beaches , mountains and want active
night life .. then Cebu City is the place.
If you are older and want quiet night life with amenities and services close by then
Dumaguete or even Cagayan or Davao would fit.
    It depends on individuals really.
I am from Cebu but if i pick a place in Cebu it's probably the Mactan area close to the beach
which also happens to be few minutes close to the airport. It's more quiet than living
close to Metro Cebu which the traffic is a nightmare.

Good to know, originally Cebuano but I like the other islands after exploring them eg. Leyte, Bohol, Negros or Panay.... But Cebu and Negros fits the best because of the airports. Health Care wise I believe there's a 2 JCI accredited hospitals in two islands otherwise most are in Manila... I hope Philippines follows the lead of Thailand and have more JCI accredited hospitals (Thailand has 20+ I believe like Turkey)
Also streamline the Fintech infrastructure or online payments to allow more International Health Insurance like Pacific Cross to be more accessible.
