In this video, we demonstrate how to perform a clinical examination of the CARDIAC SYSTEM for your medical school Clinical Skills OSCE. As the gastrointestinal exam is a core skill when it comes to examining patients, students should assume that an abdominal assessment is a high yield station for any clinical exams or clinical assessments.
For a passing grade in your Clinical Skills OSCE, for the cardiac exam follow the approach of:
- Inspection
- Palpation
- Percussion
- Auscultation
HOWEVER, an cardiac examination OSCE station does not just involve listening to the heart this video also demonstrates some of the specialised examination techniques required in examining cardiology patients
Chest, pain and general concerns about the heart are common reasons for patients to see a doctor, and in any speciality, the cardiac exam will be needed

Please note that there is no ABSOLUTE way to perform a clinical examination. Different institutions and even clinicians will have differing degrees of variations - the aim is the effectively identify medically relevant signs.
However during OSCE assessments. Different medical schools, nursing colleges and other health professional courses will have their own preferred approach to a clinical assessment - you should concentrate on THEIR marks schemes for your assessments.
The examination demonstrated here is derived from Macleods Clinical Examination - a recognised standard textbook for clinical skills.

Currently having a hard time falling asleep thanks to my anxiety so I watched this to help relax me as it’s so calming so hopefully it does the trick! Great oldie but goodie for sure.

It was not originally such low video quality. Seems it was reuploaded with lower quality.
It was so lovely of the good doctor to bring in an unfortunate young fellow, fallen between the societal cracks, for a thorough consultation, a cuppa, and a sandwich in the canteen.
How is Mr Cross now? Any update on his doctorate or what not?

I just want to give a shout-out to you either re-dubbing the audio on this or getting the raw video files to rebalance the audio. sometimes I'd have some of these older videos in a playlist and they'd either be way too quiet or the music at the start of the video would be way too loud.

Can you do a video talking about TMJD and the exact workings of why so many people have the disorder? idk if i should hang on to hope that a chiropractor can fix it because i'm definitely not paying for tmj surgery
As a rule of thumb a Chiropractor will have no benefit and may cause harm
TMJD is often managed by your dentist .
