I'm still so in disbelief that an internet sensation noticed his "fame" after years and now does videos himself and even interacts with viewers from all over the world (german here). Most doctors who got internet fame because of their examination videos never know about their impact. It's a surprise but a welcoming one. I'm sure he smiles and finds it odd sometimes when he thinks about why so many people watch his exams but being the, most likely, curious person that he is, he probably looked ASMR up and knows by now exactly what it is^^.
@@DrJamesGill By the way, personally I think the new intro music eases into the video much more than the other one! big thumbs up! ... I know it's very subjective though and other people may prefer the other one, just my two cents :)

I wanted to see an example of where to put the stethoscope since I'll be doing that in the practice lab next week, your exams are so soothing to watch and your explanation videos are so wonderfully detailed!
thank you and yes it takes years of listening to become an expert. I had a virus of my heart sack. It felt "itchy". Only one doctor could "hear" the special sound that this condition makes. Thankfully the cure was just waiting for it to go away!. But it felt very odd, and all the other doctors and nurses came over to listen after my diagnosis as they wanted to practice!

Hi James, I am studying for the Plab2 exam and your videos are very helpful. For this exam, they don't only want us to make the physical examination but also they want us to talk about the findings which we are looking for. Can you add these to the video by just writing them when you're making the examination? Another thing is could you speak more loudly and clearly for us. Thanks for useful videos.

0:52 What is the significance of putting both finger nails together? Is it something difficult to do when someone has cardiac issues or what sort of issues is it a piece of the puzzle towards figuring out?
Dr Gill, when performing percussion, is it suitable to use all of your left hand pressed against the patient rather than say an individual finger? I find it very difficult to strike my middle finger and percuss it, and sometimes manage to strike in between my fingers, hitting the person I'm percussing.
It does take practice to perfect. But you need to perceiver. The main reason being that by having one the finger on the chest wall reduces the attenuation of the sounds, thus improving clinical detection
