“He’s white” that’s funny because that was true a lot of people hearing Elvis over the radio assumed he was black because of the style of music he practiced.

That was my experience when I heard Eminem the first time.
It was the song Love The Way You Lie.
Because of my preconceived notion that only Black People rap, and the vibe of the song, I assumed it was a bkack rapper.

Elvis' humor is literally so millennial
I watched this movie opening night, I'm 17,and have been obsessed ever since. I showed it to my friends last night and they loved it too. we cried laughing watching the 68 comeback bloopers and him messing with microphone compilations 😭😭
    edit:
I use the term millennial not to identify an age group, but a type of humor coming from a general demographic of younger people(high school-young adult, correct me if I'm wrong, this is just a general observation). this, of course, does not exclude anyone from any other age group from enjoying the humor.

I'm glad that you included 2:53 in this. That is some of Austin's best acting in this movie. In this moment, he's not doing the accent, he's not doing the moves, he isn't yelling at anyone, he isn't being outwardly emotional, etc., but you can still tell exactly what Elvis is thinking just by Austin's subtle facial expressions and grunts. He got the message across without having to do much. Incredible performance.

Yesterday i had a dream about him (not even Austin as Elvis, but the real Elvis when he was at the beginning of his career). In the dream he wasn't all that famous yet and i saw him perform at a really intimate show where we kept making eye contact and it felt like i was falling in love. Later in the dream, we kissed lol. Watching this movie opened up a whole new part of my brain reserved for only Elvis, and it has inspired me to do research and boy am I glad that I know more about this man now. Austin Butler's performance was **chefs kiss**, he was absolutely stunning and he got me fangirling. Not only am I really appreciate his handsome features, but also the real Elvis's looks. God he was a pretty man, near if not perfect appearance, and everything he did was jawdropping in both real life and the movie.
I was trying so hard not to scream during the Trouble performance in the movie, so the women in the audience definitely weren't being exaggerated. I was blushing and trembling with who knows whatever the emotion I felt, it's like Elvis sparks a secret emotion only he can manipulate

    I went to the movie..
I grew up watching movies and listening to music from elvis.. Enjoyed every time of it an still enyojing every minute.
Never knew he had such a bad manager an big selfish egoïst.. And i feel sorry for elvis he had to go through this all. And the only place i recodnize elvis is happy is when he sings.. So bad he died so young and in such a broken hart cause i believe he just was trapped.. Like in his song.. Cought in a trapp, he couldnt see a way out.. So sad 😔
This can be used for the artists nowadays cause im sure there r lots of people who r cought in a trapp.. And there must be attention to pick up these signals.. Hope this never happens again.

Usually Elvis fans are pretty divided on actor portrayals. It's very satisfying to see fans major, minor, old or young united in appreciation of Butlers superb performance. There will probably never be a higher profile nor more stylishly filmed depiction of Elvis, whatever part this plays in his future legacy, it was in good hands with this wildly original film. I'd dreamed of a master director taking on Elvis with a bold cinematic vision, but assumed it would never happen. I consider it a miracle this movie even happened.

9.2.22..That New ELVIS Movie is on HBO Max.Well I Watch it.
This was a story About a Love Affair Between
ELVIS & His Audience.Austin Butler Pulled it Off Very Well.
You Could Feel the Heat..The bond.. His Movements were Right on..
Elvis Trying To Fight back to. Keep His Rebel individuality.
    *I remember this Happening.the Milking Down..Cleaning Up..
Just Like Brian.. later Did to The Beatles. They Made them Stars.
.but They Stole Their soul.. Locked Them in a Golden Cage..
Perform Like Trained Monkeys.(& Took Most of the Money Too)
That's Show Biz.Buy You Ticket. Take The Ride.Well that was
an interesting take on a story I've Seen & Read about a million Times..
I Don't Get the Point of all the Rap that is in the movie..
Rap Didn't come Along Till Many Yrs later.Tom Hanks Nailed it.
    ~ Love ~Girl George ~.

I for one love this movie and REALLY AM DISAPPOINTED THAT AUSTIN BUTLER DIDNT GET THAT OSCAR FOR THIS ROLE.

Elvis wanted to sing Dolly's "I Will Always Love You", but Parker wanted half the publishing rights. He did sing it to Priscilla after the divorce was finalized.

My opinion...Colonel Parker was as crooked as they come. He took advantage if Elvis and when Elvis realized it...he was given drugs without knowing it and that led to his downfall. Parker did the same with Ricky Nelson...just my opinion.

Butler did a good impersonation of Presley but Hanks as the " colonel " left a bad taste. The whole movie suffered from the excessive, glossy Sheen of Hollywood overkill. Better to watch videos of the real Elvis than this false narrative of a true legend.

Ahora quizo remediar algo.... Los Oscar están podridos.. tu eres grande. Gigante

Col Parker was already a promoter of numerous acts before he met Elvis. The whole carny thing is made up and had nothing to do with Elvis. Also, Col Parker spoke with a southern accent and sounded nothing like this.

Google is helpful before you go into comments and say things that are in fact not facts lol
It only takes a min to find out he was in fact a carney but did represent other acts before Elvis.
He also had seen Elvis perform several times on the circuit before he signed him.
He spoke with several different accents that he would slip in and out of.
