I eat low carb because I am hypoglycemic but last year I got into the blue zones and their diet so I incorporated beans and purple yams into my diet. I had a bad year with panic attacks and 2 trips to the ER. I finally realized it was my sugar levels and went back to low carb. I feel sooooo much better again.

Hey! Hi! All I can say that if someone is going to be a stalwart and be vegan, they should study Indian bean dish cooking/cuisine. Because of the spices (chili, turmeric. cumin, cinnamon, coriander, etc.), there will be some help in dealing with the carbs and controlling blood glucose levels. Stay away from vegan recipes that you see vegan cooks pushing, as they are usually adding sugar, rice and other lousy things, including telling you to cook in toxic oils you mentioned. So many vegetarians and veganites are much less healthy than they need to be because they are doing it all wrong. No, soy based ultra-processed products are NOT good for you. They are Impossible on your health and Beyond deplorable. Eat real food, regardless of one's dogmatics. OK, take it easy.

Thank you Kait for another great video, I do have a question for you, my husband has been on the Carnivore diet for a few months now and recently he tried to add just a little amount of Zucchini and a half a small bunch of Broccolini, his BSL COUNT WHENT UP TO 11, which since being on Carnivore hasn’t been that high in a long time, can you explain Why this happened. Especially when the 16hour break is during the evening up to the morning. Having said this, would insulin sensitivity be greater during daytime then during the night?

As always, very informative. I normally do a meat protein and two kinds of fish. The list of fruits and vegetables I will have to weed through. I buy venison and rabbit and cultured butter from my local farmers market regularly. Very expensive but I feel i'm worth it. Walnuts, avocado, bell peppers are my other go to foods.

It shouldn’t because protein is not broken down to glucose (sugar). UNLESS you are extremely insulin resistant in which case your body is not good at using fat for energy and is desperate for carbs… in which case it converts it. The key is to have adequate fat with your protein - don’t eat it lean!

As someone who has a problem with needles. monitoring my blood sugar is not easy. Is there anyway that i can monitor it that does not involve needles?
It’s not a needle. It’s a very small (painless) finger prick using a lancet. A continuous glucose monitor is another option! ❤️

Your body has genes that encode for the production of cholesterol, whatever your cholesterol level is then thats exactly what its supposed to be. Your body knows what its doing and i would trust it far more than any doctor.

Thank you for including kangaroo. I know it horrifies people outside Australia, but it is actually an incredibly healthy protein and is better for the environment than introduced animals like cow, pigs and lamb.
Only downside is how lean it is!

I buy venison and rabbit and cultured butter from my local farmers market regularly. Very expensive but I feel i'm worth it. Walnuts, avocado, bell peppers are my other go to foods.

It shouldn’t because protein is not broken down to glucose (sugar). UNLESS you are extremely insulin resistant in which case your body is not good at using fat for energy and is desperate for carbs… in which case it converts it.
The key is to have adequate fat with your protein - don’t eat it lean!
I would also say oysters,avocados and sardines.
