That was traction control helping so it wouldn't spin but even then you can hear the car wanting to beat the traction control just by hearing how jittery it sounded.

Ehh they’re really about the same. What’s ironic is the challenger actually weighs slightly more than the charger. I would’ve never guessed haha charger is probably slightly more aerodynamic too, or it at least looks like it.

I had a Dodge Challenger V6 2018 as a rental and did 0-60 in 5.7 seconds. That was the fastest most the time I got like 6.3 6.4 5.7s was kind of hard to get in that car although I never launched it because it was the first RWD car I had driven at the time and I had just gotten in an accident the week prior so I was scared to lose control

Quick question - why "Scat" pack? Yes, scat has a few different meanings but it's pretty much a Poo Pack. Not only is that name a bit challenging but it is also a lil dodgey and will definitely have some people getting charged

We’ll wrong right off the bat. 375hp was the 4bbl 440, not the 426 which is the Hemi. It made “425”hp but in reality it was closer to 500 hp

Hp was wrong on the 70 challenger 426. It pushed over 500hp. Common for manufacturers to understate power ratings. The 70 challenger with a 383 was around 370 hp
The quickest 426s ran 13s and trapped like 105-110 max in the quarter. I doubt they had over 500 hp. The trap speed just isn't there that's just myths. 500 horse with some tweaks and tuning sure.

Stock challengers have been put on the dyno, with no tuning, and have over 500 hp. Even the Japanese did the same thing with the "gentleman's agreement" .

2009 wasn't a 292hp 3.6L. It was a 250hp 3.5L. The 3.6L wasn't offered until 2011 and was 305hp in the challengers. The 292hp rating was the chargers.
Also the 5.7L isn't 347ci, it's 345ci.
Also the 375 hp Challenger in 70 was the 440 , which is 7.2 litres or thereabouts . The 426 hemi was rated at 425 hp and was 7 litres .
@jackfish campbell also hp ratings were rated differently back then. If I remember correctly, older cars were rated before accessories were added, and newer ones are with all standard attached equipment, which is SAE. So they aren't as far apart in power as the numbers imply.

@@wealllovedodge If you have access to the car then try and time the 1st and if you can 2nd gear in a way where the wheels slide but not very much, like they shake into acceleration there's a sweet spot right in the middle between sliding and having the car shaking that will give you a perfect acceleration now if you do it enough times you're going to understand it and could have enough control to actually get a better time each and every launch. a manual car is very different than an automatic that just does everything exactly the same.
