The blue 'stang ran 8:86 @ 152 mph and the driver launched at the exact moment the tree went green, phenomenal. The Demon was engineered for all day drag racing, they ran 5000 consecutive launches without issue during development, not bad for a car under $100K.

Robert Scott - If you knew track rules any car that exceeds 150.00 by rule has to have a parachute. Yes you can put one on a much slower car but since the Mustang exceeded 150 by rule he has to have it.
I realize all of the old cars were modded to shit while the Demon wasn't, but there was something super satisfying about seeing the old Challenger beat the Demon.

Frowntown it won’t be the reaction time, sure it will play a part. But it will mainly be the anticipation of the green light for the old school drivers as they have likely raced more than the person driving the demon.
Technology has made it so that modern driving doesn't require reaction times quick as they were before, also, the old school drivers are probably much more experienced.
Let's face it, that Demon is sick! But serious props to the drivers/owners/caretakers of all those beautiful pieces of history that immediately take me back to my youth.

Untouched original examples aside, IMO the 1969 Charger modded with the 1968's grille has the best looks of all of them.
That Mustang was quick... I was starting to wonder if he was in a class with slower cars, I generally see a LOT of old cars running 9's and low 10's (and a few running 7's and 8's) even on test and tune days. The Demon may not match up to the fastest of them but the fact that it never embarrasses itself and you can buy that thing off the showroom floor... damn.

The Demon is respectably fast, but I would personally take any of those classics over it. Even the 12 second, black Charger. And that track is SWEET! Awesome location.
For stock that Demon is a marvell of auto engineering. Being able to take on all those cars right off the lot. That Mustang however hooooly shiiii..... and gone.
It's pretty cool to watch it run against these cars. Would be nice to own one if it wasn't for the fact they have horrible part failure. I get it banging it out at the track all the times going to break some parts eventually but to be a production car that's not really acceptable same problem with Hellcat
I'd definitely love to have a demon,anything you race with have part failure,but with buying this vehicle setup and rum the way it does,you'll have time to do alittle work on it,unlike most of the other vehicles who's owners have alot of time and alot more money in theres...all very nice vehicles though,I really appreciate them all..
@@thegentlecraftsman4764 the only thing i would dislike about the modern cars is that their electronics are definitely an advantage. if this was a test, modern cars would lose as both mechanical and driver skills are put into the test. if you have electronics helping the driver and the car out, then it fails the test. but of course, in drag racing, it's all about who makes it to the quarter mile the fastest. put any e-cars in there, and they will win everytime. especially if there's no driver involved.

Not only is the Blue Mustang simply a much faster car his reaction time was a .080 to the Challengers. 5.00 which means the Mustangs moved 4.2 seconds before the Challenger left the starting line. The Mustang elapse time was 2 seconds quicker and terminal speed was 23 MPH faster. Mustang is a drag strip car and the Challenger is a street version of a drag race car. Big difference as it should be.

Frowntown it won’t be the reaction time, sure it will play a part. But it will mainly be the anticipation of the green light for the old school drivers as they have likely raced more than the person driving the demon.

The demon owner had to Cut a Check for 85k.....I'm more impressed with the 8 second Mustang.....and the owner...
You know the guy with the Mustang built the car huh? He didn't take it somewhere to set up the chassis? He machined and assembled the motor him self? Trans was hand built by him? What warranty does he have? How cold does the AC blow? How is it on road trips? I bet insurance is pretty cheap (free since it is not street legal). The Mustang is very nice but you are making comments with no merit and trying to compare the 2 is absurd.

I know 50 guys just like him....Race on the weekends...the dont do the maching....but they build there own engines and Some do there own chassis work....Others do there own paint work...and a Handfull ...Do it All....Takes Zero talent to hand a check to a dealership.....ill admit its nice to have a 9 sec car with A/C...but thats why its 85 Grand....

Ive built many cars...Chassis...Rollbars..Engines..The only thing i pay for is block machining....Front end alignments...And Ring n pinion Set ups.....And a good friend of mine specializes in both....Machine Shop does the other....if i hit lotto....for a couple of million...i would consider a Demon...

@@kimberlymarsh5716 I appreciate that the 1970 model combines the 1969's back (which I actually like the most) with kinda the looks of the 1968's front, but in the end the 1970's massive grille frame is just too much chrome on this car for my taste.
Untouched original examples aside, IMO the 1969 Charger modded with the 1968's grille has the best looks of all of them.

That Mustang was quick... I was starting to wonder if he was in a class with slower cars, I generally see a LOT of old cars running 9's and low 10's (and a few running 7's and 8's) even on test and tune days. The Demon may not match up to the fastest of them but the fact that it never embarrasses itself and you can buy that thing off the showroom floor... damn.

I'd definitely love to have a demon,anything you race with have part failure,but with buying this vehicle setup and rum the way it does,you'll have time to do alittle work on it,unlike most of the other vehicles who's owners have alot of time and alot more money in theres...all very nice vehicles though,I really appreciate them all..

if this was a test, modern cars would lose as both mechanical and driver skills are put into the test.
if you have electronics helping the driver and the car out, then it fails the test.

Not only is the Blue Mustang simply a much faster car his reaction time was a .080 to the Challengers. 5.00 which means the Mustangs moved 4.2 seconds before the Challenger left the starting line. The Mustang elapse time was 2 seconds quicker and terminal speed was 23 MPH faster. Mustang is a drag strip car and the Challenger is a street version of a drag race car. Big difference as it should be.
