One thing to consider - except for a small number of the older cars, they were highly modified dragsters while the Demon came right off the showroom floor. What a beast.

@@theovincent2498 You can buy a parts crate from Dodge when you buy a Demon that comes with skinny front tires and drag slicks, as well as some other goodies like a tuner that has a preset program, that allows your car too run on race gas and squeeze out some extra HP

I love how the Demon manages to outpace most of the old school cars, while close to stock. That thing is downright terrifying and it shows. Even it's old brother can't catch up.

If it has a supercharger, is it really stock? I mean, yeah, if you consider "stock" as being coming off the showroom floor that way it's stock but, if you're comparing a non-supercharged car to a car that is supercharged? In my mind, stock means they're basically of equal stature. A non-supercharged car going against another non-supercharged car or, a nitros car going against another nitros car, etc.
Whoever is driving that demon has the slowest reaction time ever.

The Mustang definitely won. However, the Cuda, I'm not necessarily sure if he won. The board at the end of the track didn't even light up for the Cuda and the board lit up and gave the green light to the Challenger so, I don't know if the Cuda red-lighted or what but, the board didn't even come on for him. And, yeah, the truck beat him by 0.10 seconds. However, I'm not sure if it's the same truck but I seen another video of a truck that looked just like this one racing a Challenger and, that damn thing (the truck) did it in 8.737 seconds. The blue 'stang ran 8:86 @ 152 mph and the driver launched at the exact moment the tree went green, phenomenal. The Demon was engineered for all day drag racing, they ran 5000 consecutive launches without issue during development, not bad for a car under $100K.

I realize all of the old cars were modded to shit while the Demon wasn't, but there was something super satisfying about seeing the old Challenger beat the Demon.
I don't know what video you saw but, the old Challenger didn't beat the Demon...sorry. He didn't even come close. The Demon did 10.06 and the Challenger did 11.66 and, the green light on the board at the end of the track came on first for the Demon.

Wing Walker, NHRA top fuel cars far more G's than that blue Mustang. I know because I used to own a NHRA AA/FF car. It's now at Don Garlits Museum in Ocala FL. I won several races with that car until I/we sold it to Jim Liberman in 1974.

Reaction times, from a bog, and overall I wanna see a real drag racer behind the wheel. I’m not knocking the car. I’m pretty sure it’s a consistent 9 sec machine. It’ll rip anything that’s naturally aspirated for sure. The fact you can drive it to the track is amazing

Robert Scott - If you knew track rules any car that exceeds 150.00 by rule has to have a parachute. Yes you can put one on a much slower car but since the Mustang exceeded 150 by rule he has to have it.

Frowntown it won’t be the reaction time, sure it will play a part. But it will mainly be the anticipation of the green light for the old school drivers as they have likely raced more than the person driving the demon.

You know the guy with the Mustang built the car huh? He didn't take it somewhere to set up the chassis? He machined and assembled the motor him self? Trans was hand built by him? What warranty does he have? How cold does the AC blow? How is it on road trips? I bet insurance is pretty cheap (free since it is not street legal). The Mustang is very nice but you are making comments with no merit and trying to compare the 2 is absurd.

I know 50 guys just like him....Race on the weekends...the dont do the maching....but they build there own engines and Some do there own chassis work....Others do there own paint work...and a Handfull ...Do it All....Takes Zero talent to hand a check to a dealership.....ill admit its nice to have a 9 sec car with A/C...but thats why its 85 Grand....

Ive built many cars...Chassis...Rollbars..Engines..The only thing i pay for is block machining....Front end alignments...And Ring n pinion Set ups.....And a good friend of mine specializes in both....Machine Shop does the other....if i hit lotto....for a couple of million...i would consider a Demon...
Demons don’t sell for 85k with the mark up. Most sell for 100k and up

@@kimberlymarsh5716 I appreciate that the 1970 model combines the 1969's back (which I actually like the most) with kinda the looks of the 1968's front, but in the end the 1970's massive grille frame is just too much chrome on this car for my taste.
Untouched original examples aside, IMO the 1969 Charger modded with the 1968's grille has the best looks of all of them.

@@jasonreyes5802 that's because the hemi 'cuda's body style was actually based off of the old 1970 challenger. That's why it looks so similar.

That Mustang was quick... I was starting to wonder if he was in a class with slower cars, I generally see a LOT of old cars running 9's and low 10's (and a few running 7's and 8's) even on test and tune days. The Demon may not match up to the fastest of them but the fact that it never embarrasses itself and you can buy that thing off the showroom floor... damn.
